Hello thirstymer Grin

Carciofi - lovely coat. How are you feeling and how many weeks are you now?

Was looking at dc's newborn photos/videos earlier and lordy - those little snuffly newborn sounds . . .

roary · 18/10/2010 20:36

Vino good to see you and thanks again for the lovely jeggings, am wearing them now!

traceybath · 18/10/2010 20:37

Oh yes lovely phase 8 dress vino.

And Fritzi - I think my shred dvd has disappeared into the playroom.

hf128219 · 18/10/2010 20:39

My Shred DVD is.... ummm, I actually don't know where it is Blush

MarshaBrady · 18/10/2010 20:40

Bloss love the dress. Since I now envisage you as that Zooey one, but better, I can see it would totally work.

Plum blast about the dress. I love midnight blue.

So anyway. I have cracked a sort of formula for jeans and which shoes.

Today I wore midnight indigo straight skinnies, mustard olive and black stripe Miu Miu polo abd See by Chloe 3/4 length cropped navy cardigan. All a bit mix-matchy. But with buttery caramel leather knee high boots. With a dark heel. And it felt good! Sort of boho 70s chic. Works better on a good hair super slinky day. But I'm happy to have something other than flats.

Some one else wore boots, Esher I think...

PlumSykes · 18/10/2010 20:43

tracey, I'm guessing you want something that looks like a berryish stain on your lips, in terms of colour, but the hydration of a lipstick, yes? I'd suggest Bobbi Brown or Laura Mercier, I think. They both have excellent, non -scary colours. BB does a pinky-plum called Rum Raisin, but there will be stacks of choice on counter, you just need to go and have a play in Harvey Nichols.

mrsjuan · 18/10/2010 20:44

My shred DVD is sitting in the cabinet taunting me through the glass next to the little tree of weights I bought in my initial rush of enthusiasm. Goodness knows why I can't even drag myself off my backside to do 20 minutes of exercise.

Are you getting broody Tracey? You can't have a barn and a baby you know Wink

Cake - reading back I fear I have insinuated that you look cheap - aghhh. Far from it - just meant that it would be worth a try to see if you actually like the lacey look in real life

traceybath · 18/10/2010 20:44

Thanks Plum - will check out BB Smile

Marsha - you sound uber-glam today as always.

PlumSykes · 18/10/2010 20:45

Talking of boots to wear with jeans, I took delivery of these today. I hate them, no idea why I bid-think it was the fever!

traceybath · 18/10/2010 20:50

MrsJ - I adore babies and DS's teachers were trying to persuade me to have another last week. DH thinks its part of the school's marketing strategy - I prefer to believe them when they say its because I have such lovely children and am so calm Wink

But no more babies for me.

LTEC - you do make me laugh Grin

Plum - had you been at the night-nurse?

hellsbelles · 18/10/2010 20:50

you sound delicious!

OWW - oh no Sad. You poor poor thing (and DS of course). Try not to worry about the scar. DS did similar a few years back and is thrilled with his. He couldn't wait to get to school to show it off Hmm.

Bloss - dress looks gorgeous.

LTEC - shame about the Marc Jacobs coat. I love your cut out dress. And I think the see by chloe lace dress is totally beautiful. Thanks for the tip off on the boots. I forgot to say that I got a pair late last week. Very very comfortable (though quite high!)

Carciofi - I'm chuckling over your scarf links as i considered the same. I have the same one you do (inspired by you) and I love it. I really think though that if the colours of that one suit you the other one won't (if that makes sense)....and yes - they are very similar Wink

Vinvi - link not working so I can't check out your bag!

Fritzi - beautiful earrings....do ask Grin

Hello thirstymerc Grin

Well my cutout dress is a success. It's really good for my shape (and dolcee of course I don't mind you considering it too) and it feels very forgiving as it's quite a thick material (no spanx required). It's not cool at all really but quite sophisticated (i am pushing 40 for goodness sake - so I may as well try and embrace 'sophisticated' from time to time rather than scruffy which is my usual modus operandi)

roary · 18/10/2010 20:54

Tracey on the berry lipstick, can't beat Clinique black honey. It's a classic and really lovely and moisturizing....

hellsbelles · 18/10/2010 20:58

oh and I just had to be the first to do this [hgrin]

roary · 18/10/2010 21:01

Hells very stylish hat :)

rufus101 · 18/10/2010 21:02

Love the silver skirt Cake and think it would lovely as you have styled it.

Blossoming the feathers dress is gorgeous, was looking at it myself.
I bought that skirt Thirsty, and really like it, although it creases easily, but then the creases fall out easily alos.
Ow, ow, ow OWW. Am wincing. Your poor DS.
Hate the pox! I got oral acylovir for my DD, when she got it straight away, as she has eczema, and it would be especially irritating. She never got more than the initial first spots. It was great. Think it well worth getting the vaccine for. They're just not giving it in UK and Ireland due to cost. [meanies]

eshermummy · 18/10/2010 21:07

Cake - had a great plains catalogue delivered earlier and I think this might be the lace dress you are looking for no?

Thirsty - sorry, that skirt is not for me I'm afraid (although I can see why you might think it was after my HL link). Am not a big fan of bustley skirts as have big enough bum as it is!

Was lurking earlier and saw Carciofi's post re £50 for free at My W - so I did. What am I going to spend it on then ladies? I also v nortily entered DH's email addy too Blush so if he has been sent a code too then am going to get him to order me something too!! I may get the Mulberry Mitzy Messenger that I have been coveting. Am rather glad I didn't get it at Selfro's on Sat now if I can get £50 off Smile
So, thanks for that Carciofi - I was also really glad to see you were back notwisthstanding code as had been worried you were going to properly disappear Sad

Plum - can't remember if I already told you this but your blog about papal red lips inspired me to dig out my own selection of red/dark lippies that I hadn't worn for a while.
Tracey - I love NARS lipsticks as they have fantastic pigments. I was gutted to discover that my old favourite "Mongolian Red" has now been discontinued so I bought the wonderful "Flamenco" (vibrant pinky red) last weekend which I have been rocking on my school run daily since then. More plummy/vampy is "TranEuropean Express" (which is what I wore to Sat's meet-up fact-fans Wink). In fact I have reworked my make-up for A/W 10/11 to include strong lipcolour and ditched blusher completely (otherwise I look like Aunt Sally).

Plum - sorry you have been poorly. That MJ dress is nice and weirdly (as I don't really know you/have never met you) it seems really you. I feel your pain as feel as if I am eternally lamenting the latest "one that got away" on Outnet. I still think witsfully of the leopard faux fur jacket that Bunny linked to on FB a while back......

OWW - sounds like you were remarkably composed in the circs. Well done to your ds for bring so brave.

OllieWollieWoo · 18/10/2010 21:11

Thanks for all your lovely words of support - wine & mars planets on the go and a good sob at the last Greys Anatomy of the season so now fully recovered! (Got DS2 to look in the mirror at bedtime at his scar - one of those classic moments of him standing there, mouth open not quite believing what he was seeing. They had used violet coloured glue too (W&A non?) so it looks most bizarre! Like the idea of comparing him to Harry Potter tho! Bless him!

Feel a bit guilty as I was reading the 'who are famous MN's?' thread at the time (sitting at the table with DSs I hasten to add!). DSs have both knocked themselves out cold in the past 2 years (DS1 was pushed off a bed and I skidded on my bike with DS2 on the front and knocked him out as the bike hit the road Sad) so this little incident was comparatively easy hence my cool head! Even I was impressed at remembering colouring books tho!

Love the LBD Fritzi, fab dress Bloss - love the colours and great buy with the red coat LTEC!

blossoming · 18/10/2010 21:16

traceyb, I'm racing on quickly, still in my workout gear, to tell you that I have the perfect plum coloured lipgloss. (I also have clinique black honey as roary suggested, in fact about 5 of them, in the car, in the changing bag, in the back of the buggy, oh and in my makeup bag!) Anyway, the gorgeous plum lipgloss, which I love so much is lg56 here. And I am quite snobish about these things normally!

bunny, yes C was for Christmas.

That sounds a good look there marsha.

plum, sorry to hear you've been poorly. I fear urban outfitters is a bit too cool for me. I asked dh what he thought my style was like today and he said, 'country chic'. Hmm. He's staying in the Hilton in Cardiff tonight.
Also next February we're celebrating 10 years of being together. We got together after a particularly horrific hammering by England in the 6 nations. Turns out they're playing each other again on the same weekend next year, and as dc1 is now in the rugby club, we've got tickets, and we're going to stay in the Hilton I think (so very central to the stadium), without the children! Can't wait. Pints of lager, mucho snogging and a curry. (If I remember correctly!)

blossoming · 18/10/2010 21:25

vin, I like that dress loads too.
ltec, that silver skirt, with the magenta top, no?

Of all the lace dresses you've linked to, I like the Reiss one best.

Ooh, was that thread any good ollie?

rufus101 · 18/10/2010 21:30

I really like that Great Plains one!
Blossoming have just booked myself into Frank for the 26th of November! Am very excited! Am envisaging transformation!

MarshaBrady · 18/10/2010 21:33

Thanks! It had been bugging me for a while the skinny jeans and shoe thing. And I haven't seen riding boots I want yet.

Plus, and this happens every time I go out, pretty much, I bumped into a friend.

It is quite uncanny how it always happens.

rufus101 · 18/10/2010 21:36

How does the mywardrobe code work Carcofi? Do you enter that code at check out? And does there have to be a minimum spend. I am not getting any prompt on the site. Thanks!

blossoming · 18/10/2010 21:38

Marsha, did you see the Russell & Bromley short boots that I put on my profile? They fit perfectly under skinny jeans.

rufus, how exciting. Frank is like that one from Eastenders with the curly hair (I'm going back a bit). I think he's on Casualty now. You will love the salon, and the ambience there I'm sure. I've been going for over 2 years and love it.
Incidentally, who do you look like?

MarshaBrady · 18/10/2010 21:47

I think they are lovely Bloss. Just went to the R&B website but no sales online I think (a rather motion sickness inducing website I might add!). I will keep them in mind next time I do a shopping trip. Thanks!
