This way ladies....

OP posts:
vinvinoveritas · 18/10/2010 20:07

See! I told you my mojo had gone I can't even link

bloss I love the colours on that dress, v unusual and striking

Cakey I think you'd look very cool in that dress, being all willowy and thin and good looking. I however would look very dumpy and misguided (yes, studying has had an adverse exponential effect on my formerly size 8 behind)

traceybath · 18/10/2010 20:09

I love a long skinny sleeve personally - probably because its the opposite of me Grin

Super-succesful friend was telling me last week her big splurge had been a navy chanel jacket. I was Envy

hf128219 · 18/10/2010 20:11

OWW Oh no, glad all is OK now.

Bloss Love the colours of that dress.

Tracey We love Spooks too. Although we sit here laughing Grin

Will try and catch up properly later.

mrsjuan · 18/10/2010 20:11

I really like that dress bloss

Cake - I think Tracey's cheapo lace dress could work for you.

I have opposite problem with sleeve length and mine are always trailing over my hands but at least my arms don't get cold Grin

OWW Poor DS -hope he heals well and feels better soon. Well done for keeping it together.

Gosh vin that sounds insensitive in the extreme from your health visitor.

Am dreading the inevitable trips to A&E as DD grows up - I am trying desperately to let her be a bit adventurous now as she is wanting to run down hills / stand on things etc. but am constantly fighting the urge to wrap her up in the proverbial cotton wool!

Chicken pox vaccine - sounds worth looking into. Another thing I am dreading! As much for the staying indoors for days on end as the illness itself. My friend's 2 boys had it recently and she said she was really shocked at how bad it was considering it's thought of as a fairly mild illness. Hope your children are feeling better soon dolcee

bunnymother · 18/10/2010 20:12

Oh OWW - lots of sympathy from me!! And a reassuring rub on the back too - they will get hurt, but sounds like you coped beautifully. I admire your cool head.

LetThemEatCake · 18/10/2010 20:14

tracey was it this?

traceybath · 18/10/2010 20:15

Oh HF don't say its not true to life Grin Although glad its not as they all do die!!

Actually I sort of envisage you as a Roz Grin

FritziGreenEyes · 18/10/2010 20:16

Sorry I'm slow tonight... Can't find link to LA lace dress cake. Love that silver skirt. I like silver and black but sometimes the contrast can be a bit harsh. Have a (darker) silver dress which I prefer to wear with charcoal opaques and black shoes. Think you have to try really.

vino Feel the same about my body (although I have never been a size 8). I'm looking for someone to take up exercising! Interested in a virtual shredding partner?

traceybath · 18/10/2010 20:17

Yes thats it LTEC. I literally did a double-take in the shop and though - its LTEC's dress.

thirstymerc · 18/10/2010 20:17

Long time lurker and occasional poster just dropping in quickly... I saw this Esher and thought of you. Similar to the £££ you linked to a couple of days back no?

traceybath · 18/10/2010 20:19

Where's Plum? I want lipstick advice . . .

thirstymerc · 18/10/2010 20:19

Sorry that was a little rude just barging in like that Blush. Hello to all the W & A ladies!

PlumSykes · 18/10/2010 20:20

Oh, darling ones, I have been absent again.

DH has been away-again-, the DC have been ailing, and I have been sick the whole weekend long. I was so sorry I couldn't come on Saturday, but as it turned out, was far too ill to have come anyway, so would have been a waste of train ticket.

One good thing about sickness is have ditched Dukan until am better, so munching of lots of good-for-tummy/bad-for-waistline bread, pasta and biscuits going on at Plum Towers.

So glad you all had a wonderful time at Hix, sounds such fun.

Am currently mourning this dress and hoping it comes back in in my size.

Re the pox, I had it as an adult, about 27/28, I think. It was so, so hideous am terrified of the DC getting it, although I know it won't be quite the same for them. Might look into the vaccine though.

OWW, so sorry to hear about wee DS. My DD fell backwards in her Stokke when she was about 16 months old, and cut the back of her scalp open. Was hideous, and had to be stitched-scar and no hair there now. Thankfully no call from HV afterwards-had grim PND at time, think that would have quite finished me off.

TB, am excited by your thoughts of a barn, and chuckling to self at idea of a shopping amnesty. Really, darling, you're just not that sort of girl.

LTEC, totally love that Chloe, in both colours, natch.

Bloss, excellent dress, perfect for your colours. You know, next time you come to Cardiff, there will be Urban Outfitters! (unless you come, like, tomorrow, or something)

blossoming · 18/10/2010 20:20

I am being really distracted here with the computer to myself. (DH works on it every night bar Fridays and Saturday, so I'm stuck with Iphone, which makes links harder).

Fantastic earrings there fritzi.
I'm really going to have to start thinking the C word soon. I've no idea what to ask dh for.

I'm off to shred.

Have bought the dress. Hopefully the neckline won't be too high, and the dress will be quite short!!

PlumSykes · 18/10/2010 20:20

Am here, traceyb!

bunnymother · 18/10/2010 20:27

Bloss - love the dress. Will look terrific on you!

Cake - mmm, not wild about any of those lace dresses. I love silver and black, but seems that all black apart from the skirt could look a bit heavy. Could you throw in some dark silver elsewhere ie scarf? Congrats on red coat - so wise!

Plum - wow, gorgeous Marc Jacobs dress! Looks nothing until it's on the mannequin, then it really looks beautiful.

traceybath · 18/10/2010 20:27

Plum - I love that MJ dress!

Right - I want a plummy colour very moisturising lipstick for winter - any recommendations? Grin

vinvinoveritas · 18/10/2010 20:28

fritzi I'm ashamed to say I still have not placed the shred DVD in the player Blush despite having had it for many many months. It now lives on a bookshelf (out of sight)!! But yes I think I need to Grin

I like this dress

bunnymother · 18/10/2010 20:29

Bloss - C is for Christmas?

vinvinoveritas · 18/10/2010 20:31

hello thirstymerc! all very welcome Smile

carciofi · 18/10/2010 20:31

LTEC, I think that skirt would look good with black.

Plum, sorry you have been ill. Fab dress.

Bloss, lovely dress.

My dh is buying me a bag for Christmas, though he doesn't know it yet.

I bought this peacoat instead of the scarf. I can wear it for a few months at leas. Grin

KR7HFT for £50 off at My-Wardrobe for the next 48 hrs!

carciofi · 18/10/2010 20:32

least not leas. Blush

roary · 18/10/2010 20:33

LTEC I can remember that skirt, you've linked to it before (lord knows what DH would say if he knew I knew the contents of imaginary friend wardrobes). I LOVE it. HOw about similar coloured tights and a bright top or bright tights and grey top? That silver looks lovely with cobalt and magenta....

OWW hope peace restored.

Carciofi one of the things I hated about being pregnant was the feeling there was no point in buying anything so I feel your pain! Cardigans are brill because you can wear them undone all the way through and I think you'll love the blue one, it's a gorgeous colour.
I also wanted to say I think that unless it's actually really dangerous you should be able to do whatever the heck you like in childbirth, whether or not it's standing on your head while people dance around you waving crystals or a c-section. You do what you need to do!

The chicken pox vaccine is standard practice in US, UK, and Australia. DD has had hers in Canada (while we were on holiday, and for free, amazingly) but if you ask your GP and kick up a fuss they will arrange it, but you have to pay. Worth it, I reckon!

FritziGreenEyes · 18/10/2010 20:34

vino snap I had just bookmarked that dress. Love the colour and drapiness. I haven't even ordered the Shred DVD yet, I'm still with Davina...

Getting confused by all the lace dresses now. But I love the "demure" dress plum!

bunnymother · 18/10/2010 20:34

Vin - love that navy Phase Eight dress! And "hi"! Good luck w the study - don't know how you are juglig everything. I doffs me cap.
