Bloss....uh, hold on...which boots? And yes, def have a glass of wine to celebrate ......

Okay, think short-arsed Stella Tennant who looks absolutely nothing like Stella Tennant but loves that whole english-aristocratic model vibe - but is seriously deluded...Grin

FritziGreenEyes · 05/10/2010 11:59

Thanks all for ideas re food for party! Think I do some starters and dessert and leave the rest to caterers. Will have enough left to organize as it is and can spend more time on choosing an outfit/getting ready Wink.

ollie the wedding sounds lovely and your outfits absolutely gorgeous. Didn't you say you had professional photos taken?

Our cleaner just arrived and told me in her I looked ill and I should "put on some colour on my face". Jeez...

FritziGreenEyes · 05/10/2010 12:01

Cheers blossoming! Mwah mwah!

DolceeBanana · 05/10/2010 12:09

Fritzi - hi, sorry missed your post! I would def get caterers...even for starters and puddings because even just doing those things will take a great deal of time and effort. Just specify exactly what you want....go 'off plan' to get it....Wink

rufus101 · 05/10/2010 12:24

Sounds like a great day already Bloss, am very impressed that you resisted cake! You deserve the wine, go on, you know you want to!
Fritzi. definitely go with the catering for that number. I always do some puddings myself, so that I can feel I had some hand in the whole thing.
Dolcee christening outfit for both of you sounds wonderful. Love both trends, tea dress and tartan, although someone at work said her DH said all women look elderly in floral. I said "just shows you how much they know"!

OllieWollieWoo · 05/10/2010 12:28

Hi Fritzi - not quite - DH & I had to help the photographer take some shots after the drinks reception (think of me staggering around cobbled pavements in heels with DH lugging a step ladder). We went to where the Parliament buildings are - very beautiful square and lake. As we were walking out, a big black car stopped and the new Dutch Prime Minister wound down his window to say congratulations to the bride & groom! He was so nice and chatty! Was hoping the photographer would sneak a few shots of me & DH in but alas no and I was too embarassed to ask! Think the only shots of me are from the ceremony with my "I'm trying hard to understand what everyone is saying in Dutch but failing" face on - oh dear!

Anyone after cheap boots? Le Redoute has some good offers on like here

eshermummy · 05/10/2010 12:28

Happy birthday Blossoming!!!! Many Happy returns!

Dolcee you are welcome. Hope you find what you want but if you are seriously considering the Kew ones then you must check out the GAP ones instore as they are v similar but much cheaper.
Dress for christening - is screaming Brora at me Wink

So, my Barbour biker(s) arrived this morning and.......despite being the best of the Barbours that have crossed my doorway.......I think they are going back Grin
Being sensible, £240 for a highly waterproof jacket that doesn't cover yo ass is silly no?
Am going to bite the bullet and buy something like www.blacks.co.uk/clothing/women/jackets-and-outershell/waterproof-jackets/product/042440/the-north-face-womens-sutherland-jacket.html this instead. Not beautiful, not stylish but quite frankly when it is tipping with rain and I'm herding two young children I am often past caring!

OllieWollieWoo · 05/10/2010 12:35

Oh Plum - you latest blog has just pinged into my inbox - its like a little personal message from you Smile - am now making a cuppa to have whilst reading it!

Did you see the thread about fashion blogs? I love the wearing it today blog here - she has such great style.

FritziGreenEyes · 05/10/2010 12:37

Dolcee glad that DS is better! Plans for your christening sound great. And thanks for thumbs up re caterers. I just always feel I have to be perfect domestic goddess but I don't think I can deal with the pressure this time.

Ollie I think a Prime Minister stopping his car to chat to a wedding couple is quintessentially Dutch. Could never imagine Angela Merkel doing something like that. In fact I can't imagine her chatting to anyone spontanously at all Hmm.

carciofi · 05/10/2010 12:48

Blossoming, have the wine!

Ollie, glad you enjoyed the wedding.

Vin, hope your ds is on the mend.

Fritzi, glad you had a good time. I think caterers sound good. We had dd's christening catered and also my dad's 60th and it took all the work out of it. I like the White Co dress and poncho. I have ordered this dress, think Roary has it. I was told it wasn't available until Dec but apparently it is out for delivery now.

Esher, it is quite pricey if you are still going to get wet! I do like it though. I'm thinking of getting this.

LTEC, that lace top is fab.

I have just been booking flights to New Zealand for Jan, can't wait! I made the mistake of telling dd and she wants to go NOW, she told me. Me too! Now need to pick a dress for my brother's wedding.

FritziGreenEyes · 05/10/2010 12:50

Love your writing plum. I often get impatient at spas and hairdresser's too...

carciofi that dress is lovely. I tried it on but it didn't do much for me. Unfortunately clinging in all the wrong places. Yay to going to New Zealand! Do you have a dress yet or do you need to find a new one? I'm looking forward to links of lovely dresses Smile.

Peace - hurrah!

Happy Birthday Blossoming - I hope you have a lovely lovely day Smile

Visit was fine - a couple of bite my lip moments but not too bad I guess.

Haven't quite caught up yet on thread yet but think its very doubtful that I'll be able to come to meet-up as DH has a race that day which I'd somehow managed to overlook. So lots of negotiation as to who 'gives up' doing what they want and think its going to be me this time Sad

Hells - I too did a quick outnet order of this and some socks too. Seemed a good price for a cashmere jumper.

LetThemEatCake · 05/10/2010 13:40

oh no tracey Shock Sad

welcme back OWW and Fritzi, you;ve been missed

helles do you mean these ones? or these? I got the Edelman ones, not the Ash ...

blossoming · 05/10/2010 13:48

dolcee, my boots were from Russell & Bromley. I have posted a photo on my profile.

You will be glad to know I held off the wine. Too much on this afternoon. But I shall indulge tonight!!
Thanks for all your kind wishes.

Such a shame about the meet up traceybath. There seem to be a few who can't make it. Can we have a head count of who can and can't come please?

esher, how's www.landsend.co.uk/pp/Stadium-Squall-Parka~9135_59.html?bcc=y&CM_MERCH=IDX_00002__0000000055&origin=index this]] for my unstylish but waterproof coat!!

How are you doing with your ebay auctions carciofi? Mine are finishing this afternoon. Hopefully will be in the money by tea time.

blossoming · 05/10/2010 13:50

Sorry, this.

notyummy · 05/10/2010 13:56

I am planning to come!

rufus101 · 05/10/2010 13:57

OWW what MAC colours did you get again? Got Chanel eye shadows recently and think it's rubbish. The lash tinting and eyebrow shaping makes such a difference doesn't it? Like a mini face lift!(I need it anyway!)

carciofi · 05/10/2010 14:02

Yangymac, we are going to Akaroa (my brother's fiancee's family live nearby) and the wedding is on their farm in Pigeon Bay in early Feb, then going to Christchurch for a while. My dad is doing the itinerary! We are going for 3 weeks (dh isn't coming so it will be 3 weeks with my family!), stopping in Hong Kong for a night on the way. So what do I pack? :)

Dolcee, meant to say, your dd's outfit sounds adorable.

Tracey, nice sweater, wish they had a medium left.

Blossoming, I have a couple of bids but the item that is doing best is a Boden skirt from two years ago! Hope you make loads.
