LetThemEatCake · 03/10/2010 15:21

sorry about the pox dolce Sad

Fleecy I was running this morning and suddenly thought of your salami on the sofa thing and literally snorted with laughter. Congrats on the recital!

hellsbelles · 03/10/2010 16:41

oh yes Fleecy - forgot to say congratulations!

Bonsoir · 03/10/2010 16:44

LTEC - yes!

LetThemEatCake · 03/10/2010 17:22

Merci, bonsoir

Fleecy · 03/10/2010 17:33

Hello - happy to have bought some cheer to the thread! We have been to a naming ceremony today and are all looking rather gorgeous (if I do say so myself...)

I'm in leopard print shift with skinny black belt and black patent courts, DH in smart stripe shirt, indigo jeans and lovely tan shoes, DD in colour block black and purple dress with black glitter tights (so cute) and DS in Monsoon bicycle shirt and jeans. I had a large wine and asked DH for another - and he very generously bought me a bottle. So I am a little tipsy and apologise in advance for any ill-concieved posts (although I sneakily did give some wine away as am not really a big drinker)

marsha I like that trench. I hanker after a classic Burberry but have not yet amassed the £££ necessary, so wear a Gap £10 eBay number instead. I will have a Burberry by 40...

cake I bet you worked it well, despite the rain.

hells my nails have gone yellow after dakr polish - as long as I can remember. i think you need to worry when they go like that without varnish Grin

Fleecy · 03/10/2010 17:34

ltec dry dock??? Why may I ask?

happilyeverafter · 03/10/2010 17:37

Roma that sounds so tiring, you must be utterly fed-up! Your DH sounds lovely bringing you the pizza - every cloud and all that.

hells I get the yellow tinge to toenails also, I find a good buffing with one of those little block things brings them up a treat.

Tracey - hope you are bearing up well under the strains of the mil.

yangy I love those heels, mine are similar but non leather

Yay for your parents fleecy they sound so talented, you should feel absolutely very proud!

DH took DD to a show this morning, I dropped them into town and had a lovely couple of hours shopping childfree. Only bought a navy top from Whistles (more navy!) but did lots of trying on/eliminating in various places.

DH and DD joined me just as I was finishing coffee in John Lewis and we got DD new converse, some navy hunters and lots of tights/bobbles/clips. She has gone up two shoe sizes since last being measured in summer! DH got a new bluray player as his token manly purchase so we were all happy.

My mission for this evening is to get all DDs old shoes on ebay. We have Converse in 4 different sizes now outgrown, Hunters, kickers, birkenstocks and various Next/Startrite shoes and boots all sitting in her wardrobe gathering dust.

Fleecy · 03/10/2010 17:47

Ooh happily do you mind me asking what size shoes you're about to list? DD has just grown out of her Converse, wellies and boots... She's 9/9.5.

LetThemEatCake · 03/10/2010 17:50

Oh and hells sorry about your tootsies and my last but one fb status Blush

notyummy · 03/10/2010 17:52

Hi folks - just been catching up. Some lovely links!

fleecy - your whole family sounds very chic today. Am most impressed - especially as I have been loafing around in old Gao Long and lean jeans, and a Gap jumper bought in the sale 5 years ago!

Roma - It's difficult isn't it? It sounds like you are both working so hard at the moment. Similar to us in many ways - but I only have DD to stress/guilt over, so I can quite empathise on how tricky it is with more! I think walks/IKEA etc are quite wholesome pursuits for a weekend personally Grin

LTEC - Thought your outfit sounded fab, and I am sure you managed the pull the drenched look off perfectly...

Dolcee - Belated birthday wishes for your DD - and commiserations on the pox. I hope it turns out to be mild!

Tracey - 36 hours - not long! Hmm

Well, not much shopping. I got a whole loads of boots deluvered, but didn't like any of them (in my quest for low/flat comfy knee high boots.) Then yesterday we went into Clarks to try and find dd non-school shoes or boots - and I tried and liked these. Yes they are a bit dullsville, but sooo comfy and I wanted something leather, that I could wear with lots of things and under £100 so they ticked all the boxes. No shoes for dd though Blush

Quite a chilled out weekend here. Strictly (obviously), gymanstics and playdate for dd yesterday, and cake baking plus family swim today. Managed a long run yesterday and a circuit training session with DH this morning whilst DD obligingly did a whole load of Disney jigsaws!

Hells - my toes looked a bit like that about a week ago - had been wearing a fairly dark OPI varnish. Am now varnishless (as the likelihood of me going out with toes exposed is pretty slim...) and I think they will recover soon.

happilyeverafter · 03/10/2010 17:55

fleecy

Size 10 red hunter wellies
Size 10 pink converse hitops
Size 9 Navy converse hitops
Size 8 White converse lowtops
Size 7 navy converse hitops
Size 8 Joules lilac mouse pumps (sizing huge)
Size 9 Boden pink fluffy slipperboots

I've already listed a few others already. Can you tell we like converse Blush

Fleecy · 03/10/2010 18:02

Ooh have you listed the pink Converse high tops size 10 and the red hunters in the same size? I'd be interested in both of them - DD currently in 9.5 so would be perfect. She currently has the very same Converse in an 8 and some Peppa Pig wellies but I will be glad to be rid of them!

Fleecy · 03/10/2010 18:03

notyummy i have a pre-DC pair of Gap long and lean that I heart bigtime. They are just so very flattering and that perfect length that works with flats but isn't to short with heels. Have never been able to find another pair that are quite that perfect in length...

Fleecy · 03/10/2010 18:04

too short with heels. Sorry Blush

Fleecy · 03/10/2010 18:08

And how muc woudl you wnat for the white Converse in size 8? I bought some for DS but they were already too small for him. He's currently a 6 so I might be interested in them and navy size 7 & 9s.

happilyeverafter · 03/10/2010 18:10

Fleecy have messaged you! The white converse have pink stitching so no good for boys.

hellsbelles · 03/10/2010 18:13

happily - thanks for the buffing tip. Glad to hear I'm not the only one with yellow toes!

LTEC - I rushed in panic to see the FB update (not quite sure what to expect!). Relieved to see I totally agree...and would never expose the outside world to my hideous feet in their current naked state.

traceybath · 03/10/2010 18:14

Hi Florence! I'm normally a 35.5 and found the 36 way too big in chie mihara but the shop didn't stock a 35 but suspect that would have been perfect.

Fleecy · 03/10/2010 18:15

I have emailed you back happily

MarshaBrady · 03/10/2010 18:22

Finally having a look at Sunday Times. Men's issue Style bah, dull!

florenceuk · 03/10/2010 18:35

Thanks Tracey! Sounds like they might come up a bit big for me, so maybe will go for these: campers which I know will be likely to fit but much more boring...

Feeling virtuous as went to gym while DD went to party! Went to Hennes and bought two dresses, four tops, leggings and tights - DD set for winter now along with her Boden skinny jeans bought in 25% offer. All purple, grey and blue (she is now officially too old for pink). Still need pair of boots (she wants black) - hard to believe she is only 6.

Fleecy · 03/10/2010 19:29

Oh bloss forgot to say, yes I had a tear in my eye - so lovely, both when Robbie goes to see Julia and sees her standing by the mirror in her wedding dress and when he sings her the song on the plane. I never get tired of it!

notyummy · 03/10/2010 19:56

Am just reading Nov Marie Claire. On p 84 there us a feature where a ' non- model' reader is styled wearing 6 different pairs of winter shorts. One of them is a £350 pair of Pringle shorts. They are brown, huge and velvet, and make her look like the back end of a panto horse! Has anyone else seen it yet? It's like the stylist is having a right laugh at her expense...

blossoming · 03/10/2010 19:58

fleecy, Everything makes me cry these days, but that film used to do it years back, in my tough single days! Btw what an interesting family you have. I used to play violin, not naturally talented, but got to grade 8 and the national youth orchestra by sheer determination as there were some good looking boys there!!
I haven't played in 20 years but dc1 has just started piano lessons, practicing on his ELC keyboard!
