Lol Cake at you and the security guard!

Yes, new studded boots!

Grey skinnies here and black fine knit cashmere cowl sweater as cold..had lovely morning so far with 2 girls as DS at school...lots of toast (for them !, oatcakes for me...) and hot chocolate for DD...she is playing dress up with her 'barbie' type dolls... (free with comic)...and its a giggle listening to her running commentary.

I really like the Ash boots Helles...I really want them. Let me know what they are like please!!!!!Thanks !

Hi Ruby.

Yangymac, I got a lovely navy puffer coat for my dd, the brand is Mayoral.

Just booking tix to see Santa Claus at Harrod's. I love Christmas.

welcome ruby - I feel like that too when I read/join in! Also Yang is right - very very dangerous for wallet.

Well IO is pretty crap...everything I've tried to get is sold out. Blast. Better get back to work.

carciofi - you've made me feel all christmassey! I must book that too. And thank you for the Nigella reminder yesterday - I logged onto post at 8pm and then quickly ran off when I saw you mention she was on. I've got the book and everything I've tried so far has been delicious. But oh how I wish she'd left her lovely face alone. Too much botox - she's ruined it (though that has nothing to do with her recipes of course).

I'm feeling a little muttonous today...the kind of 'looks good until you see how old her face is' sort of thing. Not good.

carciofi · 01/10/2010 13:05

Hells, I know, she was so gorgeous. Most of Dec is booked up so get in there quick!

Yangy, yes, that is the one. It runs small, I bought age 4 for my 2.5 yr old (she is quite tall though).

rufus101 · 01/10/2010 13:08

Big Hi! (waves to everyone)
Sitting in hairdressers, going to a wedding later. Got eyelash extensions the other day. Wow! They make such a difference. Would highly recommend.
Got a Tory Burch black to go with my dress (can't find a link anywhere), so am pleased.
Love the Ash boots Helles. Still waiting on my Fryes. Am having buyers remorse now, so they better be nice!

blossoming · 01/10/2010 13:12

Is that it now with Isabella Oliver. No more stock??
Should have bought that dress on Monday, grrrr.

Has anyone noticed how little stock Boden has left this season too? It used to be weeks wait for items, not completely out of stock.

I'm annoyed.

What would cheer me up would be photos of hf in her medieval fancy dress outfit, playing drinking games. Any chance???

carciofi · 01/10/2010 13:25

Oh yes please HF!
Blossoming, I think that dress is coming into stock again end of October.

LetThemEatCake · 01/10/2010 13:35

Very annoyed with Isabella Oliver Angry

Of course, now that I can't get the peg legs I really really want them

The project I've been working on has just signed off budget to keep me for another 3 months so feeling a bit less guilty about the double footwear purchase this week. Triple, if you count baby L's new shoes, bought this morning- his first 'proper' ones Smile

Isn't it a foul day!!

carciofi · 01/10/2010 13:37

Rufus, enjoy the wedding!

Like the sound of the eyelash extensions rufus. I feel even worse now I know you're in the hairdressers getting ready to go out! That's my favourite part. The blow dry.

Absolutely foul here too. But thought wth this morning and walked dd to the doctors surgery in my stadium squall buttoned right to the bottom and the waterproof cowboy boots again. I do like them very much, but I don't like brown with black, indigo, or grey. The basis of my wardrobe!
Any of your kids had 'molluscum contagiosum'. Sounds gross right? They're like a cluster of lumps, like warts. Dc1 had them, you just have to leave them and they go, but sometimes it takes 12-18 months.
Anyway, dd had 3 on her shoulder, and one was rather big, so dh sent me down to the docs, and I was there for precisely 1 minute!! Better that way though.

She's sleeping now, and I am in such a mood as to be trawling Laura Ashley and Monsoon!! I did see this top in Monsoon, that I thought was rather nice. Am I bored or what!!

I went to New York with dh, where he was intending to propose to me, in May 7 years ago. It was hot back home and I got there with no coat, or shoes, just sandals and summer clothes. On the first day we were woken up by the sound of heavy rain, a bit like today here. I had to take a taxi to one of the department stores and spent my money on trainers and a caghoul. We then went to Balthazar for a very boozy lunch, and spent the afternoon in bed. My idea of the perfect way to spend a rainy day!!

hf128219 · 01/10/2010 13:59

yangy That is dramatic - what a shame.

rufus Have fun at the wedding!

LTEC Good news re the project.

Chance of me posting a pic of me in fancy dress drinking flagons of Snakebite? No chance! Grin

It is pouring here - torrential.

LetThemEatCake · 01/10/2010 14:12

rufus have a marvellous time, bet you look a million bucks! I had those eyelash extensions for my birthday year before last, really didn't like my face once they came off!

Bloss my ds2 had that last year, was horrid but cleared up quite quickly. I was freaking out as was pg and thought might be something of the measles/ chickenpox variety

yangy oh no, how awful (for them) - and a shame for you & your dd too. Disappointed for your ds too tracey.

right, have had semi clear-out of wardrobe, summer stuff stashed in one of those storage bags, will re-consider next March/ April to see what to keep/ give away/ sell

Is better as winter stuff so bulky that wardrobe was irritating the life out of me every time I opened it.

welcome ruby hope you will stay!

Zembo · 01/10/2010 14:20

Back to report on Outnet order. I'm afraid the Fritzi jeans don't work for me. Very comfortable but the wash isn't quite what I'm after, I want a more uniform colour - the ones I got are a bit lighter on the thigh region (which is not my best!).

These charcoal cords are lovely though so are probably staying

I like the cut of the american vintage scoop neck but it's a bit too sheer for me I think. Really want to keep it as size of scoop and everything else about it is perfect but trying to be wise.

Keeping the cheepo falke tights as bound to come in useful

Hope to be back later, need to go to the post office to return Toast stuff - it's all about the clothes Grin!

happilyeverafter · 01/10/2010 14:21

I am tempted by those peg legs also Cake, slightly more ££s for what I would usually spend on trousers that would mostly be for work though.

Have never had so many outfit compliments as today (do I usually look so rough??) Wearing new Zara slouchy navy taper trousers with white FC pussybow blouse with short very puffed sleeves, olive high heeled loafers (Nine West circa 2003) and no accessories.

Even my clothes hating boss waxed lyrical. Literally everyone who walked into office stopped and said something nice including visitors who I don't know!. Popped to get ingredients for dinner on way home and butcher told me I looked 'snazzy' though which bought me back down to earth with a bump.

Hells I'm sure you don't even look slightly muttoney! Dolcee your sweater sounds lovely, I think cowl necks can look so elegant.

notyummy · 01/10/2010 14:25

Sorry about the party Yangy.

Foul weather here too. Want to hibernate!

Have a great time Hf. I have been to a number of medieval themed 'dos' in my time. Bad behaviour and heavy drinking were noticeable at all of them. I wish I could say I didn't participate, but...erm... well Blush

Rufus - Have a wonderful time. Like the sound of the extensions!

Blossoming - DD had molluscum. They went all white/soft almost pusy (sorry TMI...) before they eventually went away. Took a year though - and she gave it to me! All gone now though.
