LTEC Going a la NY stylee. Maxi dress, cord belt, glads and a wimple. Must find cardboard, scissors, staples and glue to make said Wimple!

Roman I personally don't like the wedge heel on those boots - or the colour.

Romanarama · 01/10/2010 08:55

Thanks - you've saved me muchos pounds.

Lady Godiva would be quite easy if you have a hobby horse....

carciofi · 01/10/2010 08:58

Romanarama, I am not keen on the boots either, sorry.

Yes, that pub is not far from me. The River Café is there too, I am trying to persuade DH to take me. Hope you have a good night, LTEC. I think the snakeskin dress.

EIE, I was laughing at your mention of the guys in red chinos, you do see that a lot around here. Along with head-to-toe Boden, the Yummy Mummy changing bags (I still wear pashminas so will stop now :)).

Tracey, I had a look at those Belstaff boots, they are the nicest ones I've seen. I might even sell my Russell and Bromley boots to raise the funds!

hf128219 · 01/10/2010 09:00

Ah, I should have visited the local stables for a hack and entered the party in style Grin

Hope work is going well and you are getting the nanny situation sorted out. Our friends are really enjoying Brussels and are settling in well. She has joined the Rasante (spelling?) health club and their dd is settling in at the International School.

notyummy · 01/10/2010 09:03

Ldies, I have two confessions to make....

  1. I have just worn sportwear on the (only) school run I do a week. In my defence, I am circuit training shortly.
  1. I am excited about Strictly starting again tonight. I know, its naffola. I can 't help myself. The even odder thing is that DH is a big fan too. I think I have mentioned on these threads before that he is in touch with his feminine side. I think this (and the fact that he weeps like a girl whenever he listens to the Miss Saigon soundtrack....) is a good example of that. It's not just him though - we fhad riends over to stay on a saturday night a few years ago and the DH (a helicopter winchman FFS - very alpha male hero) insisted on watching Strictly and then he and my DH spent AGES debating whether Mark Ramprakash had the best waltz or not. It finished with my DH brandishing his mobile and voting for Mark multiple times to prove a point....

Will weather be good enough for bare legs LTEC? Just heard the forecast and it looked pretty rubbish in most places today.

roary · 01/10/2010 09:23

Hello ladies
I have been in seclusion stroking my new brogues. Stroke, stroke. Now to find me some cropped trousers to wear with them a la Plum..

AM considering another pair of anthropologie stretch cords (in another colour to go with brogues) and spotted this dress. Lovely, no?

Am wearing my new LIly and Lionel Red Leopard (rarrr).

Does anyone have Hanro thermal (wool/silk) camisole? My mother swears by hers, but she is in her 60s and we may have different views on what constitutes low-cut. She, hilariously, thinks All Lace is Tacky Unless Handmade and I have to silence her imaginary voice in my head when I see lace tights.

Yangy do you have four kids? And a full time job?? And you are style and beauty maven? Another superwoman!!

Notyummy Your DH sounds perfect in every way...he must have a flaw!

notyummy · 01/10/2010 09:27

I HAVE to get me a scarf. You have reminded me Roary. Given the water tank bill, I think it will be H & M rather than L & L!

roary · 01/10/2010 09:39

Well, notyummy if you had an l and l you would be toasty and therefore not require a boiler.

You might get a bit smelly though.

Am still puzzling over what you dh could have been offered in vegas!

notyummy · 01/10/2010 09:41

Think things that fly in the sky over dangerous places with no one in them.....

LetThemEatCake · 01/10/2010 09:47

hf I would do hessian sack from local grocer, holes for head and arms, belted over brown tights. Crust of bread in hand.

Or belted tunic over tights and ballet flats with some juggling balls. Sew couple of bells on top of a beret.

hellsbelles · 01/10/2010 09:49

Just running in (at work currently) as I got an email about a 25% discount at Isabella Oliver (till midnight)...quote WeAre7 at checkout.

see you later.

NY Ah, but you probably look good in sports wear! And you did have a valid reason.

LTEC Great ideas! Good do for dh. I on the other hand do want to look relatively nice!

hf128219 · 01/10/2010 10:31

Meant could do for dh!

MarshaBrady · 01/10/2010 10:34

Hf Stella M A/W 08-9?

5th image, girl with floaty caramel dress and belt...

LetThemEatCake · 01/10/2010 10:38

Lol ruby

Join us why don't you?

Just came back to tell Roma about IO discount but helles has beaten me to it. Should I give those peg legs a whirl or no?

Am at bank, getting flirty smiles from the helmeted armoured truck fella. Must make note of outfit Grin

hf128219 · 01/10/2010 10:39

Marsha Now you're talking! Although image 2 would be more appropriate!

MarshaBrady · 01/10/2010 10:42

Love it.

How will you recreate that? Grin

notyummy · 01/10/2010 10:43

Marsha - if I looked like that in a floaty dress then every day would have a medieval theme Grin Perhaps not the most practical wear though....

LTEC - I def think you shouls give the peg leg a try. I have been too scared because of size of bottom, therefore want to live vicariously through you!

hf128219 · 01/10/2010 10:43

Now considering my Singer has been sitting in the Garage for the last 3 years it could be rather tricky Grin

traceybath · 01/10/2010 10:46

LOL at Ruby Grin I am so not cool looking today - much more windswept.

DS1 was meant to have a friend over for tea/play tonight but the other mother has just cancelled as her son has been naughty. My DS is going to be sooooo disappointed - may have to bake a cake to cheer him up.

Good denim on outnet today. Have ordered these but not sure what they'll be like.

MarshaBrady · 01/10/2010 10:46

You have some heirlooms sitting round the house I think. What's a few hundred years and a Singer between relatives... Grin

Luckily most eras have been plundered influenced by our great designers
