traceybath · 29/09/2010 16:08

Love the second pair LTEC.

Roary - oooh those brogues sound fab.

Dolcee - rain hats - I got a barbour one last year - tis very nice and very practical was about £30 I think.

DolceeBanana · 29/09/2010 16:48

Cake - I like the second pair! But you have these surely, I am certain...or very similar? Thought you were looking for courts???

Barbour hat and coat? Too much I think....for me...

hf128219 · 29/09/2010 16:54

All this talk of Barbours, Hats, Hunters et al makes me laugh!

I have just had a charity shop clear out and finally got rid of a tartan checked Puffa jacket that I wore on my honeymoon in 1995. It was round the Western Isles of Scotland so it was becoming - honest!

I set it off with a very nice navy waxed a la Barbour hat with a tartan bow Smile

LTEC Like no 2 also - something to do with the cut on the ankle.

That MILA blog is quite odd - I don't like it at all.

PS Hunters are out Grin

traceybath · 29/09/2010 16:55

Dolcee - yes indeed - double barbour is a bit like double-denim I think Grin

blossoming · 29/09/2010 17:42

I can see your links now ltec, and also prefer the second ones. They'd work with skirts better than the first ones I think.

hf, I started a thread earlier about my wet socks this morning, due to leakage of Fly boots. Dh has insisted that I can't wear my hunters out and about every day (so true, I mean you wouldn't wear them to mother and toddler grouop would you?) and wants to buy me a pair of waterproof boots for my birthday. I'm not much closer to finding any I like though.
Lol at your honeymoon outfit! I came home from holiday to find my mum's washing line full of my clothes from the late eighties, early nineties. She'd found them in the attic, Laura Ashley ballgown and all and had washed them ready for the charity shop. The shame.

blossoming · 29/09/2010 17:58

Nice boots!. Wonder if they're waterproof?

blossoming · 29/09/2010 18:04

Ooh, lovely alice by temperley dress. Who needs waterproof boots anyway?

traceybath · 29/09/2010 18:06

Bloss - I've had that dress on my wish list for ages Grin. However I don't need more going out stuff but like you practical day to day wear.

hf128219 · 29/09/2010 18:15

www.dubarry.com/ These are great.

blossoming · 29/09/2010 18:20

Thanks hf. Love the Clare.

MarshaBrady · 29/09/2010 18:20

weeps I havent been able to look at all your lovely posts to scarves. Thank you I will do later.

And nice comments about ds2, like Yangy's he is better in rl too Grin

Plum your link didn't work for me! What is your blog address again?

Which would you get between this cashmere one or McQueen one. Not much in it but the second has acrylic

I am of course tempted to wait for the sales for a scarf.

Bloss nice boots and dress.

PlumSykes · 29/09/2010 18:36

roary, I have new brogues too. Mine are flat, in a charcoal nubuck. Only cheapies, got them in TK Maxx yesterday. Planning to wear with slim leg cropped trousers, or wideleg pants Katherine Hepburn style. They should get their debut tomorrow, will let you know how I get on!

Marsha, my blog is here. I'd like a new scarf or two-let me know what you decide.

Popped to John Lewis today for boring household things today, but saw LOTS of lovely things. Need to go in, alone, with a bit more time. Loved lots of the new collection from Paul and Joe's Sister. Gah, why wasn't I born French? Would prob not find Dukan such heavy going then. Day 3 of attack nearly over-am practically hallucinating watercress and radishes-I need something with crunch!

Wonder what this Tess Daly stuff is like? here. Her legs always look fab in photos - helps that they go on forever tho! I have her body glow and its v nice.

Zembo · 29/09/2010 19:58

Yangy sorry never answered your qu re: my ethnicity. My parents are both from Bangladesh. I was born and brought up here, so am british. I feel very lucky to have grown up with two cultures, I go to Bangladesh fairly often, it's ace Grin

LTEC also like the second boots. They're much more you than the mid-heel court (yes, I know speaking as if I know you soooo well)-for some reason I can't imagine you in the courts. Probably think you're a bit too edgy/cool for something so sensible looking (not intended to cause offence!)

I've ordered the Fritzi jeans and the J Brand cords in both the 25 and 26 (thanks for sizing advice ladies). Also ordered some cheap Falke tights and the same AV blue top as you I think Fleecy.

Roary your outfit sounds fab! It's so good to feel that great in your clothes esp your new clothes. I wore my new toast tunic in the blue today with comptoir blue opaques and black hobbs boots. Felt great in it, oh and a brora silk scarf. And I think the tunic looks loads better on me than on the model Smile

Zembo · 29/09/2010 20:10

Cake those boots are cheaper here although American site. Also available in leopard print Grin

carciofi · 29/09/2010 20:28

LTEC, I prefer the first pair.

Outfit sounds great, Roary.

Marsha, the cashmere, definitely!

The Dubarry mention takes me back, they are an Irish company and I used to wear their shoes as a teenager. I like the Clare boots, Bloss.

I ordered this quilted coat today, would prefer the Barbour minx but I had a voucher as well so it was quite a bargain. Hope it is nice on.

blossoming · 29/09/2010 20:53

ollie, will you post photos?
carciofi, I have a quilted Hobbs jacket from 6 years ago. Still going strong!

Late night catch up, been working and am slightly knackered so apols if I miss anyone

roary v. Excited for you re brogues!
dolce and tracey good luck with house stuff, your friend's place sounds lovely dolce
bloss the person with the nicest waterproof boots is dexter, calling dexter...!?

Thanks for all the shoe input. As zembo has pointed out so rightly, I am not a courts girl, a fact I realised as I clicked on links. However, I went to question air today to get my hummingbird maxi altered before dinner do this weekend and fell blindingly in love with a.ma.zing pair of studded edelmans boots. Omfg. Think will purchase tomorrow as came home and searched on my wardrobe for them but not there (have gift certificate, thought may as well use). In meantime, found Edelman bootees, have purchased. Yay.

Mila website is wrong on so many levels.

zembo what are the fritzi jeans, are they the James ones I linked to late last night?

yangy never say never....

Zembo · 30/09/2010 06:09

Cake yes the fritzi jeans are the ones you linked to. I tried the primark ones you've got but the size 8 was massive on me Shock - I think there is a lot of vanity sizing going on (sorry Bloss). I haven't lost weight and increasingly I need a size 6. Can you link to the boots you bought - sound great. I'm def not a courts girl either, can't say I like any of the ones linked to.

Carciofi hope the coat turns out to be a good buy, looks promising. My outnet order is due to be delivered todaya and I'm out all day visiting my old school friend of 31 years Grin

hf128219 · 30/09/2010 06:59

Morning all.

I have a Medieval fancy dress party to go to tomorrow night - and as per usual I have not worked out/planned what to wear.

Panic, panic! Any suggestions of what I can wear? Smile

carciofi · 30/09/2010 08:07

HF, maybe this crowd do next day delivery? Wink

Zembo, have fun! I have a good friend I have known since I was 2 ... 36 years!

EIE, I'd try and sell them.
