Hope all the poorly people are on the mend.

Well DH seemed to quite like the trilby style hats - he put one on and fancied himself as a bit of a Don Draper character - I said he looked more like the Dad in A Tiger Who Came To Tea Smile

Just had our lovely neighbours who are getting married on Friady over for a drink - they have asked DH and I to help with the photographs after the ceremony and drinks reception. In Holland its traditional to drive all over the place (before or after ceremony) and have pics taken at local landmarks. They want to go to a lake, an old cinema which has a beautiful wooden staircase, and a few other places - should take 1.5 hours to do before we drive down to Antwerp for the dinner in the castle. DH and I will have to help carry photographers stuff (I will be needing flats for this - can barley walk in my heels let along lugging lighting screens etc!) Said yes after they said photographer would take some nice pics of me and DH too!!!!! Vain? Me?

Plum - will sign up after typing this.

Where is everything, mrs juan and bunjies???

Night all.

LetThemEatCake · 28/09/2010 22:08

LOL at the Tiger who came to Tea!!!!

Choo heavens above, not corporate, no way!!! But need something for these occasional work meetings etc - despite having plenty of shoes none of them are right .. although I could just do Bloch flats as am tall .. but feel more confident for work things if in a bit of a heel .... otherwise fear I have my park/ playground head on

PlumSykes · 28/09/2010 22:13

Good, classic, patent court at your fave M&S, Cake.

CHOOGIRL · 28/09/2010 22:16

OK Cake Am guessing the maternity choos are not appropriate (have you worn them yet?)

So as it is almost winter how about about smart boots?

LetThemEatCake · 28/09/2010 22:16

ooh thank you Plum but I have fear loathing and hatred of patent.

(I often refer to my patent ankle boots but they're actually just cheap and shiny) Grin

have signed up to your blog!! which I love

OllieWollieWoo · 28/09/2010 22:17

Gah - wish MN had an automatic spellchecker -sorry for the ongoing countless mistakes - I just type too quickly and send without proofing!

LetThemEatCake · 28/09/2010 22:17

am going to sell them!! I can't bear it - they are burning a hole in my wardrobe! at night i wake up with them leaning over the bed and breathing their overpriced, heady breath into my face, whilst my battered and hideous Uggs lounge sadly in a corner saying "why don't you love us?"

LetThemEatCake · 28/09/2010 22:18

yes smart boot would be good - ankle, yes ?

notyummy · 28/09/2010 22:20

Look!

Have finally found decent pics of my H & M leopard print maxi on a fashionista blog. I can only commend it to you ladies - was v happy floating around the house in it tonight - for less than £30... (Just need to find place to wear it!)

PlumSykes · 28/09/2010 22:20

Really?! I ADORE patent, always have. Was never allowed patent shoes as a child-far too commmon Hmm. Would have myself buffed to a patent finish if I could.

Is that the style you mean, though? A kind of grown-up-lady shoe? You don't do shoe-boots, do you?

Thanks for blog sign-ups, everyone. Fingers crossed something comes of it!

OP posts:
LetThemEatCake · 28/09/2010 22:25

I would contemplate a shoe boot, yes! But yes, a grown up shoe to wear to LA type things - so, not cutting edge, but quietly chic.

So very me!! Grin

NY how fabulous, can you wear it to meet up?

Fleecy · 28/09/2010 22:29

Oh NY I want one! But already have a leopard print shift, 3 scarves, ballet flats and bag. Overkill?

(cake promise I don't wear them all matchy matchy together!)

notyummy · 28/09/2010 22:34

I may have to wear it to the meet up, if only because there is only one other occasion until then that I could wear it and I want to prance around in it whilst it still has that 'new dress' thing going on.

LTEC - here

MarshaBrady · 28/09/2010 22:38

I have been too busy today but Plum I will sign up tomorrow. I adore Angulus shoes for ds1 too, although only for first two terms of school, then went down market to Clarks Grin.

Probably loads here have missed too tired, but lol'd at cat and hope it all worked out NY. You are holding the fort very well!

rufus101 · 28/09/2010 22:51

Happily I guarantee you I'll never attempt that cure!
NY the dress is amazing. I love the way it's styled with the hat. Hope you get your plumbing sorted soon. It's agony being without hot water,
Zembo I think the 25 in the j brands would be fine. I wear a 26 and I'm curvy of bum!

LetThemEatCake · 28/09/2010 22:54

rufus sorry meant to say, hope you are all okay. How are you feeling now?

LetThemEatCake · 28/09/2010 23:07

isn't this pretty

and doesn't the seller give a touch TMI in the blurb??!!!!
yikes. Cup of tea, love?

LetThemEatCake · 28/09/2010 23:08

okay okay I am supposed to be working, I know

Fleecy · 28/09/2010 23:26

ha ha - I know that desparate feeling of doing anything, anything but writing.

But I have luckily finished after a mammoth 10h30 day, interspersed with rehearsal. So off to bed. But just quickly first...

American Vintage stuff on the Outnet today. Have ordered a blue tee and brown dress. Good basics I think. And bit more my budget than the CL's tomorrow Smile

okay, work done. Phew.

thanks yangy have seen her site before but have not checked it out for a while. Have a good sleep!

now, are these the Fritzi jeans? I am v.tempted by them as the grey skinnies I have are pale and make my legs look like sausages that are on the turn when I have an all-too-frequent fat day. Am liking the darker shade, anyone have them?

Romanarama · 29/09/2010 07:44

Any good recommendations for a nice place to stay for the weekend en famille in Kent? Looking for somewhere between London and Brussels

notyummy · 29/09/2010 08:25

Roma - The George in Rye come highly recomended from friends, although I haven't been there myself.

LTEC - LOL at the rather needy ebay seller. We don't need to know lady.....

PlumSykes · 29/09/2010 08:29

Roma, Tunbridge Wells is a lovely spa town, with good shops, easy train in to London. The Hotel Du Vin there looks great.

Thanks for the recommendations. Is Canterbury nice?
