That sounds lovely ollie. I had a quick look at the special offers page and found my dress here. And it's in peacock. But a 14.

blossoming · 28/09/2010 13:08

There's some good value stuff on that page in fact. I wonder why this gorgeous dress didn't sell? If I was working I'd be buying it pronto!!

carciofi · 28/09/2010 13:09

Thanks LTEC, it is for the playground/hanging around in the day with dd so sounds perfect.

Nice dress, Blossoming, I am sure you will make mucho cash. I have listed my GHDs instead of the DVF dress as probably will regret selling it. I don't think I will make much from a Boden hotpotch skirt so leaving that kind of thing to the charity shop!

Your dress sounds lovely, OWW.

Anyway, back to tidying.

carciofi · 28/09/2010 13:10

That would be hotchpotch.

rufus101 · 28/09/2010 13:16

NY what a day. It's bound to pick up.
Carciofi Findlaters! The cause of many a bad Sunday!
Brought DS1 to doctor at 5 am, as he was roaring with tummy pain. Neurotic that I am, very wary of appendicitis. Had to go to GP myself (an unheard of event). Think I'm getting shingles. Hopefully not, will have to see what happens over next few days. Have extreme pain one one side of scalp and face, and ear.

carciofi · 28/09/2010 13:18

Rufus, hope you are both ok.

I know, it seemed like a good idea at the time though. :)

blossoming · 28/09/2010 13:32

Ooh that doesn't sound nice rufus. hope you'll feel better soon.

hellsbelles · 28/09/2010 13:35

oh goodness. What you've all been going through in just a few days. I 've been awol with a mildly poorly DD but nothing compared to some of the horrid things on here.

Carciofi - we match thanks to Fritz...I too agree these are super comfortable. Though jeggings more than skinny jeans...

LTEC - I pulled my vera moda top out of the wardrobe for the first time in ages and felt wonderful in it (with skinnies and biker boots)...only to log onto facebook and see taller skinnier you rocking the look far better than I Grin. You looked wonderful as did the cakes and the DC's. I won't add to the wise words about SIL that have done the rounds already but am always in awe of your attitude.

Roman - I read with horror your au pair woes. We suffered with au pairs for years (as children). I always felt it was like having an older teenage sister that caused havoc and it certainly was tiring for Mum (though why she kept getting more I'll never know)! I think you are very wise to get rid.

Fleecy/happily - love the shorts/tights look and would be jumping right in there with you if I wasn't a lot bit older than you!

Tracey - stupid estate agent. I would have been so pissed off. We doing viewings now as well but nothing has been perfect.

NY - here's to your day getting better...what a nightmare.

No fashion news from me. Other than I unearthed some sherling lined boots from last year that for some reason weren't right then...but are wonderful now. very pleased.

DolceeBanana · 28/09/2010 13:49

Hiya...

Cake - sad that SIL is clearly not happy in life...must have been awful regarding her dh...but that's not your fault! Glad that MIL is onside anyway!

Can sympathise with the khaki skinnies...mine too baggy too...need to get some more trews...

Zembo - yes, all sorted thank you! Yes, very typically he was anxious to sort and I was a bit bashful...Luckily he is a v organised individual and we had the same sort of ideas...!

Rufus - oh, hope it's not shingles...can be nasty...look after you! Hope DS okay...

Tracey - any nearer to finding a house?

carciofi · 28/09/2010 14:54

Hells, yes, they are more like jeggings. I am wearing mine now with a white top, knee high boots and black DKNY cozy.

Citizens of Humanity have really nice cargos, I think they are called Hope. They are expensive though.

These purple print shoes just arrived and they are so comfortable. I have a purple patent pair of ballet flats so trying to decide whether they are too similar and if I should return the Boden shoes. I don't want to return them (unwise, no doubt!).

Glad you got that sorted, Dolcee. DH asked me this morning when he caught me setting up ebay auctions whether he did not give me enough money, I felt bad and told him he did but I just have expensive taste.

Fleecy · 28/09/2010 14:57

OWW the hats sounds fab - glad I inspired you and be brave in the face of ridicule from nonA&W DH! Assuming your DH isn't some sartorial genius. Mine certainly isn't Grin

I did laugh at your cleaner story. Not bringing it up is exactly the sort of thing I would do!

ltec hope your boys are better soon. You sound remarkably cheery for a woman up to her eyes (not literally I hope) in poo and sick.

rufus good to rest and hopefully it will not develop and you'll be 100% in no time.

ny what a sh*tty day. Fingers crossed your plumber is on time.

Right then, I should be working so I'm off for now. Byeeee

rufus101 · 28/09/2010 15:20

DS1 seems to have made a recovery. At 4am I said to DH, he's walking around, he's talking (this was after mention of Doctor visit was made, and he visibly perked up), he's ok, but at this stage DH was spooked and wanted him checked out. (Our DD had meningitis so we are easily spooked)
I am now on the difene and feeling better, fingers crossed no rash (shingles) appears.
That's so sweet of your DH Carciofi, I of course would have said yes!

blossoming · 28/09/2010 16:52

Nice flats carciofi. You've been eyeing them up a while haven't you?
Wear one pair round the house like slippers I would!!!

Well I've listed 4 items. Auction ends a week today, on my birthday. Hope it brings me some birthday cash!!

traceybath · 28/09/2010 17:07

Bloss - what are you having from your DH for your birthday and what are you doing?

GeorginaWorsley · 28/09/2010 17:35

nice shoes ,Carciofi.
I love a bit of animal print, and purple....

Librashavinganotherbiscuit · 28/09/2010 17:48

Does anyone on here have a child with special needs as I have a question to ask but I am a little terrified of the special needs topic.

carciofi · 28/09/2010 17:51

I showed them to my friend and she said keep them. :) So I am!

Rufus, gosh, that must have been scary with your DD. My brother had meningitis as a child but thankfully made a full recovery.

Good luck with the ebay sales, Bloss, I think I will list a few things, it all adds up.

I would have said yes only I spend more than enough on myself as it is, I think! Also, we are going to New Zealand in the spring for my brother's wedding and that is going to be very expensive.

blossoming · 28/09/2010 18:06

I had a daughter with cerebral palsy libra, if I can be of any help?

traceybath, dh bought me the dvf bec dress. He wants to buy me something else but I just can't think of anything! I don't really do jewellery apart from the ones he has bought me already, studs, ring, necklace, watch.. Off out for dinner Saturday.

traceybath · 28/09/2010 18:12

Carciofi - I love those shoes.

Has everyone seen boden have got 25% off mini boden until tomorrow.

Bloss - of course your lovely dress Smile Are you wearing that this saturday night?

Have got pil's coming sat until tuesday - may try and leave them with youngest two on monday whilst I invent an appointment or three Wink

Librashavinganotherbiscuit · 28/09/2010 18:12

Thanks Blossoming and I hope I don't offend. As usual one of the common questions this pregnancy has been "do you want a girl or a boy", my answer has usually been along the lines of "well a girl would be nice but I don't really mind as long as it's healthy". Today I got to wondering if this answer would offend women who had children with special needs, as it could be interpreted I wouldn't want to keep a child who was unhealthy or not NT IYSWIM. So is my current answer liable to offend?

roary · 28/09/2010 18:15

bloss did the Hobbs site ever let you see that leather jacket? Might be a good present from dh. Much nicer than the Boden one.

blossoming · 28/09/2010 18:20

I don't think so libra. It's what everyone says after all. Me included. When are you due again?

blossoming · 28/09/2010 18:39

Thanks roary. Will look out for it.

Librashavinganotherbiscuit · 28/09/2010 18:55

Am relieved to find out I haven't been accidentally offending. thanks for answering blossoming and sorry about the loss of your daughter. c-section date 27th october

notyummy · 28/09/2010 19:40

Rufus - Fingers crossed no shingles!

Well, brand new tyre fitted after an hour spent at Kwik Fit with DD doing reading homework in a desperate attempt to entertain. Plumber arrived on time - and promptly said that he didn't work on that kins of hot water system. FFS! Why not ask what kind of system it is then when someone phones you up to come and give an estimate? I then spent a frantic 30 mins ringing round others and have finally found someone to come first thing Thursday morning. Will have to work from home. So, no hot water for at least another couple of days..

Luckily DD appears to have taken her cute pills. I was just trying on new H & M leopard print maxi to see what boots worked (platform/clog style looking good I think..)and she was VERY taken - obviously gets it from me! 'Oooh mummy, you look lovely. Spin round - you are like a princess. You have to wear it soon! Can I have one just like it pleeaaseee?!'

And also...music to some ladies ears here - 'Mummy I do like dresses with pretty patterns like animals on them. I think leopards are my favourite.' Grin
