Vino - think we might have v similar taste! I love that cami - have a few like that and want more but obv too big to buy anything right now. Except for maternity clothes, which hardly floats my boat (don't enjoy being pregnant - only in it for the darling newborns you get at the end). The jeans look great and dress is gorgeous. ha ha - love a bit of "hello sailor" - am off now to bid on sailor dress for DD on eBay. Plus gumboots/wellingtons. Precious does love to kick around in the park...

littledawley - good thinking re the bag swap - you do want to love it for that price. Although what a darling DH to buy them for you!

Carciofi and tracey - am not a Boden-lover, but that top is lovely, isn't it?! Although a bit cheeky to all it "wool jersey" when wool only comprises 30%? Bad Johnny.

hf128219 · 13/08/2010 17:23

MM Happy Birthday! And to Tracey's DS! Hope the bike ride was a success. And you are currently mushing up basil!!

Vino Take care of yourself.

This weather is dreadful - is summer over?

Off out for dinner tonight - just to a pub so wearing cargo pants, hasbeens and a breton. Might have to top it off with a bit of Goretex though!

Cain We were near Carcassonne for a week at the start of the month. Beautiful, isn't it?

rufus101 · 13/08/2010 17:27

Loving all the links.
I'd go for the Alexa, would like one myself. That's my idea of a statement bag Libra!
Weirdly I was near Carcasonne also, when I was on hols in July! We seem to be all of like mind on holidays and style!

hf128219 · 13/08/2010 17:33

Rufus Spooky!

Librashavinganotherbiscuit · 13/08/2010 18:25

oh at this price it would be rude not to, grey, fake suede biker boots to just pull on under jeans. Does anyone have a redoute code (there is always one floating around]

Will be back later.

Librashavinganotherbiscuit · 13/08/2010 18:28

Lace up suede boots

PlumSykes · 13/08/2010 18:34

Ahh, here you are! Hello.

Wow, what a gruesome week and a bit. Visitors galore, which turned DD into very poor company indeed. I thought I liked having house guests, but turns out I was wrong. Cooking, cleaning, and having to 'show parent' discipline DD, when I really could not be a-ed.

House back to self now-DH away this weekend too, so just me and the babies. Will have a catch up after bath and bed, and then pop in later.

traceybath · 13/08/2010 18:51

Plum - love 'show-parent' Grin. So know that feeling.

Has your tent arrived yet?

hellsbelles · 13/08/2010 19:39

plum - love 'show parent' never heard that before but it's so familiar now you mention it!

Oh the links are so beautiful. Lovely lovely things.

I asked one of the NAP advisors for some leopard print suggestions. Balmain coat. Ahem. Avid as I am even I would not contemplate that.

PlumSykes · 13/08/2010 20:18

Libra, last season there was a Brora code for 20% off, in Easy Living, I think. Might be worth hanging on a bit in case they do something again. Loving those La Redoute boots. We are on short rations this month, but may add to long list of things to buy once am paid again.

MM, Happy birthday, lovely one, and so pleased you got the jacket.

Vino, what sort of red lipstick do you want. Pinky red, more blue, or orangey? I'm a red lippy gal, so can rummage thru make-up closet and recommend a shade if you tell me what sort you are looking for. Love those Sonia R jumpers, esp. the 1st one

TraceyB, have you seen this blouse on The Outnet? Saw it and immediately thought of you.

Have not thought seriously about AW yet, though have a camel, belted single breasted wool-mix trench from H&M, which is perfect, and barely worn, since I bought it when 4 months pg with DS, and was unable to fasten it with about 2 weeks.

Need to lose weight or will look like a Thanksgiving turkey just in time for the oven. Knee injury has meant no exercise at all, and waves of visitors plus the school hols has meant I have been exposed to far more treats than usual. Back on Dukan once DD's back at school, I think.

bunjies · 13/08/2010 20:40

Loving the cami and dress links Vino.

Hells - stunning dress but a bit ooh la la at the back for the office, no? Depends on what kind of office I suppose Grin.

Feeling tres miserable this evening (must be Friday 13th vibes). Got a message earlier informing me that, despite having already been told I was shortlisted for an interview, they have now decided to carry out a second round of shortlisting to weed out all those who not only meet the essential criteria but the desirable ones too. So, thanks a fucking lot, for ruining my weekend. I now won't find out if I am successful (for the 2nd time) til the end of next week AngrySad. I mean, how crap is that? Why couldn't they have done this before? Had arranged to have a chat with someone about the job on Monday but have now emailed her saying I didn't think it was a good idea until I knew for sure I had an interview. Also pettily added "Have a great weekend" at the end which has probably cost me any chance I had of getting an interview now! Have been feeling very upset about it all afternoon which has resulted in stupid argument with dh about his lack of knowledge of having any basil and me getting very shouty with dcs. Not helped by being on one of my down eating days which means I only have 500cals. Ended up in the bathroom sobbing whilst scrubbing the sink and toilet Confused. Now feeling very sorry for myself and want to dive head first into the 3l box of rose in the fridge. Oh, and did I mention I'm 40 in less than 2 weeks? Aaaaaggggghhhhhh!!!!!

As you were ladies.

bunnymother · 13/08/2010 20:48

Oooh, Bunjies, you poor love! Do try and do something that makes you happy this evening. Wishing you some sunshine and good nights' sleep over the weekend. Sending you virtual salmon, too...

Plum - love that blouse!!

traceybath · 13/08/2010 20:50

Oh Bunjies Sad

What a horrid day for you.

I blame the shite weather - august is always rubbish weather and its annoying and misery-making.

Does annoy me though when people deliver rubbish news on a friday - its just thoughtless.

Thanks guys. That's exactly what I think too Tracey. Why today of all days? Why couldn't they have left it til Monday at least? Anyway, will spend the rest of the evening on MN and ignore dh.

Another lurker here saying thanks to Libra - like the lace-up boots!

Reminds me, I saw these and a few other things in the Bona'part catalogue which came through my door yesterday.

FritziGreenEyes · 13/08/2010 21:07

Oh bunjes you poor thing... Have one glass of the rose it will make you feel so much better (says fritzi after having half a bottle of rose). I'm usually not a drinker at all but today it really helped to take the edge of everything and helped me to take it easier. Better stop typing now or you'll all have to read long, tipsy post with a lot of typing errors. Safer check out all your lovely links.

DH is in London on Monday. Will sent him to WC to pick up a popcorn poncho. Hope you don't mind tracey and zembo.

Fel1x · 13/08/2010 21:07

Oh bunjies poor you. That's rotten news for a Friday. I have my fingers crossed that it's good news for you after all and that you hear back soon.

Happy birthday to mm and to traceys ds. Hope you have both had lovely days. Mm congrats on getting the leather jacket!

Have been shopping for school uniform today. Bit of a mission as ds hates hates hates trying on clothes and can't bear the labels in clothes but he did really well considering. Got the most important items tried on in the shop and the rest tried on at home once labels cut out. He looks v cute!

Off to BBQ party tomorrow. Hope it's not as rainy as today! What to wear....

Oh and am starting the Cambridge diet Sunday in a bid to lose 2 stone. Cambridge diet lady says I only need to lose 1 stone but I will feel better and more like my pre dc self if I were 2 stone lighter! Has anyone done it before?

FritziGreenEyes · 13/08/2010 21:12

fel1x - How does Cambridge diet work?

bunjies · 13/08/2010 21:36

Watching The Mentalist so starting to feel better.

Fritzi - naughty, naughty. I will remain pure this evening!

Felix - yes, explain Cambridge diet. I also need to lose 2 probably more like 2.5 stone.

bunjies · 13/08/2010 21:36

Bugger, of course meant Fel1x.

Fel1x · 13/08/2010 21:44

Its a meal replacement diet. Kind of like slimfast I presume but you replace ALL meals with 3 things - they do a porridge, a shake and a soup so you ahve one of each a day.
Apparently it gives you 100% of your RDA of all your vitamins and good things you need but at only about 400-500 calories.
A friend of mine did it and lost a stone in the first week. Its known for its speed which is what is making me give it a go!! Not very patient me! I so easily fall off the wagon when seeing tiny results like 1 or 2lb a week loss, so am hoping that a big loss first week will help me stick it out and then get into the habit of eating less going forward....

Will let you know how it goes!!!

dexter73 · 13/08/2010 21:55

How do you keep the weight off afterwards?

Fel1x · 13/08/2010 21:58

Theres a maintenence bit - havent read through that bit properly yet! but basically you gradually move up to one meal a day with 2 replacements then 1 replacement then add in certain foods first, like protein and veg only first before adding in other stuff.
Seems to have had good results for people at keeping the weight off from what I have read/heard so I am hopeful it will work on me!
