marsha hope you're ok.

very quiet here cain. don't like what's in the shops at the moment too. guess it's the in between seasons thing. good luck with ordering next boots.

friends coming in a few minutes. will make quick salad and then we have bbq, yay!

MarshaBrady · 04/09/2010 19:51

Fritzi I'm good thanks.

Although ds is giving me some very bad nights. I remember Tracey, Bea was a bit hard at night for a while, I hope this passes soon too Smile (I am very tired!)

MarshaBrady · 04/09/2010 20:02

Also each time I come on mn ds1 wants to watch the Turkey meatball thing with Marco Pierre White (he clicked on it by accident) and whilst it is quite funny in a funny/bad way there's only so many times I wish to see it Grin

RedBlueRed · 04/09/2010 20:08

Marsha it does all pass and before you know it you are sending them off to secondary school and they just don't need you as much.

I know they say empty nest syndrome happens when they leave home but suddenly not being needed 24/7 is quite hard too.
I keep phoning him to say "I'm just popping out for 5 mins" then calling him to say "I'm home again now" and his response is "yeah ok, whatever" the heartless sod! Grin

Nothing whatsoever to do with avid or wise. Sorry. Not coping - unlike him.

MarshaBrady · 04/09/2010 20:13

lol at heartless sod Grin. How old is your ds? (Do I know this, brain is addled!)

RedBlueRed · 04/09/2010 20:15

oops, I type slow. Go back a post or two and I make sense - ish.

RedBlueRed · 04/09/2010 20:16

Sorry Marsha, he is 11 and just started secondary school.

MarshaBrady · 04/09/2010 20:20

Big school! yes sometimes ds asks to go to after school club... he's 5 Shock. He's been once! (and had a blast)

RedBlueRed · 04/09/2010 20:33

Ewan has always loved his out of school club but was ok saying good bye.
Its a good thing, I have decided. Means he will cope with the big bag world well because he can handle change.

A lot of grown ups cannot handle change as well as he does - me included!

RedBlueRed · 04/09/2010 22:35

I am going to post for everyone waiting to feel the frenzy of A/W shopping.

Long may the warm weather last!

monkeysmama · 04/09/2010 23:15

Ciao belle

Off to bed soon but just popping in to say hello. Shredding is hurting my body. I'm getting a bit leaner but ache all the time.

Did some shopping today. Underwear on line. Belt & sandals in sale in Zara when I exchanged the jumper I loved then discovered was 100% polyester which I wasn't happy to pay £50 for. Tried on fluffy waistcoat again but felt big in it. Might get post holiday.

Off on holiday a week Monday Grin. Dd is so excited. She says "tell me about our holiday again" every few hours. It's so lovely.

blossoming · 05/09/2010 06:56

monkeysmama, I'm back on the shred after my holiday and I'm hurting so much I can barely walk down stairs. I'm alternating level 2 and level 3, and I think unmodified level 2 with 2.5kg weights, is harder than level 3. For me anyway.

I'm doing the early shift this morning. Now dc1 has said he wants to go back to bed! Grr!!

bunnymother · 05/09/2010 07:37

Morning!

Am on couch as hips and stomach hurt in bed (not as firm as couch) - oh dear, am only 25 weeks. Then of course the babies woke and presumably were having a punch up. Goodness me.

But... I have been reading and smiling, reading and smiling.

The only thing I can remember, though, is that Bloss - went to Kew and the equestrian boots are just lovely in RL. And they come in both black and "bitter chocolate" - doesn't that sound like a nice shoe treat?!

CHOO - oh, your hard work treat dress - superb!!

Hobbs coat - isn't the camel wrap one just beautiful?? Wouldn't it look lovely w bitter chocolate boots??

bunnymother · 05/09/2010 07:42

Oh, and DH is asking what I am going to do about a bigger nappy bag etc for the babies. Well, what do you think of this red leather Kew bag? He thinks I need a side by side pram, but am resisting, ladies - you can't take them anywhere!! Will try and use the Phil & Teds for the babies, and the Maclaren for Delie. Or 1 baby in sling w other baby in P&T w Delie. And doesn't the red leather bag just pick out the red highlights in the P&T badging??

FritziGreenEyes · 05/09/2010 08:10

bunny - Sorry to hear that you are so uncomfortable but the thought of your two little beauties having a punch up made me smile. The red Kew bag is lovely. Great price too for leather I think. And it would look great with your grey coat although I can't really remember if you got it or not.

DH has taken DD to the horse stables (is that the right word?) which means I have one more hour to lounge in bed Smile. Had DD's friend and her parents over for BBQ yesterday and we managed to sit outside until 11:00 with both DDs cuddled up in blankets on our laps until they fell asleep. Plus great wine and conversation what more can you ask for?

Thanks for the link cain. I'll be humming that song all day Smile. DD also handles change better than I do. Yesterday she asked when we would be moving houses again. She thought packing up all our stuff in boxes was the most exciting thing ever. We only moved here last year and don't intend to go anywhere else soon. I moved houses 12 times in the last 10 years so had enough for that for a while.

Will check out the turkey meatball clip marsha mentioned.

MarshaBrady · 05/09/2010 08:23

Haha fritzi beware it is bad. And very un-a&w. Or maybe because ds has watched it four times now Grin

Cain your ds sounds very together and confident, good one!

Bunny how cute with two babies!

FritziGreenEyes · 05/09/2010 08:26

Have never watched MPW before but I have to say he is a bit irritating. Keeps repeating the same phrases over and over again. Strange setup with all the women in aprons sat opposite him but not doing any cooking Hmm.

happilyeverafter · 05/09/2010 08:29

Bunny sorry that you are so hurty - your poor body must be being so squished. The red Kew bag is lovely and I agree with Fritzi that it's a great price too.

Monkeysmama I have had a couple of days off from shredding as I like to give my body time to stop aching! Normal shredding will resume later today.

Marsha I remember the broken nights vividly, hope they pass quickly for you.

I wore my new FC dress out for dinner last night, DH took me to 'our' place for my birthday. It's a shabby old pub that we've been going to for over 8 years now and nothing has changed but the food is scrummy. It's not swish that you can go too glam but the dress was perfect and I vamped it up with some platform courts that have been sat in my wardrobe waiting for an occasion that doesn't require too much walking. DH never ever comments on clothing but he said several times that he thought I looked lovely

Still haven't decided on White Co dress, DH didn't offer any opinion but said it made my boobs look fab [grin}

everything you look stunning in link, great photo

MarshaBrady · 05/09/2010 08:30

He is surprisingly camp. And the women.. Heehee, so serious, over a meatball..

MarshaBrady · 05/09/2010 08:31

Cross post with you happily. Glad you got so many lovely compliments and had a nice time.

ApuskiDusky · 05/09/2010 08:42

Bunny, 25 weeks already! (probably doesn't feel quick to you!). Yes to the red bag, it looks just the right size, and being able to wear it cross body is essential imo.

I'm trying to work out how to style my new hair, I've got a half fringe ( long enough to fall in my face, not long enough to tuck behind my ears), and I didn't like how the hairdresser did it, so I am experimenting. All for a 3 year old's birthday party, what a glam life! It's ds1's birthday next Saturday, so we are having a flurry of birthday parties with my old NCT crowd.

FritziGreenEyes · 05/09/2010 08:43

happily - Belated happy birthday! Sounds like you had a great time. Compliments are lovely. My DH is the same as yours. Hardly ever compliments on how I look but at least on the rare occasion when he does I know it is genuine. I would definitely keep the WC dress. Which one is it?

ApuskiDusky · 05/09/2010 08:47

Oops, posted too soon, I also wanted to say a big thanks to all for the support re A's weight - it's reassuring to hear of other people's little babies too! He's such a scrummy baby, really content and sociable, I need to focus on the good bits.

AllBuggiedOut · 05/09/2010 09:23

Morning all

DS2's 5th birthday today - he is downstairs with his new (apparently "awesome") drumkit. I have come upstairs to hide for a while! His birthday yesterday was great. Just DH's birthday next week, then we're done celebrating for a while. All the happiness is mixed with very unhappy memories of this time last year. A close friend's baby daughter died at just 3 days old. Her DS2 (my godson) is the same age as mine and the birthday parties have brought back very acute memories of what last year was such an exciting time as she prepared to have her lovely daughter. Sad She says it helps them to know that people are thinking of her.

Now birthdays are almost over, I can now turn to clothes a bit more! I need to sort through all the old A/W stuff, and pass on all the charcoal grey to my "winter" friend. Will hit Gap with the 30% voucher later i the week. What do you think of this dress please? I bought it last week and it's a great fit and colour, I'm just not sure if it's too 70s retro...

Love the red Kew bag.

I can't remember who else has the Asos khaki skinnies ( cain, mm?) but do yours lose their shape really quickly? I wore mine all day on Wednesday, admittedly to an adventure park so was doing a lot of bending and moving around, but they were really saggy by the end of it.

I haven't shredded at all since getting back from holidays - weight hasn't changed though despite still being very piggy with all the party chocolate in the house!

cake did you ever get a SJP-style belt, and if not is this a contender?

What do you think of these jeans please - I like the colour but wonder if should just say no becuae of the crystals...

OllieWollieWoo · 05/09/2010 09:34

Morning! Survived the hen day - had a nice lunch (at 3.30pm by the time some of the guests had turned up!), potter round a few art gallerys, a drink in an Irish pub, champers in a posh wine bar, nice Italian meal and home by 12! No drunken antics to report tho did leave a group of them heading off to a karaoke bar so who knows.....!

We are taking DSs to a race track today to see DH's best mate race some cars - they will love it. I will be wearing my 'this is really interesting face' and looking for some ear plugs!
