OWW you don't sound whiney at all. I think you're superwoman doing all that.
Bloss your mothers group sounds like a bit of fun!
MM I saw boots on Coggles which are v similar and from Ash. Will link later.

blossoming · 03/09/2010 12:13

Very true rufus, although the hangover after seeing 3am with them soon after I moved back home still haunts me!
Also I'm trying to be on best behaviour with dh. He's had a bad week with a sore throat and a cold plus a bad commute. Anyway rugby season starts tonight so he should be okay!

I'm sure your house will look lovely ollie.

FritziGreenEyes · 03/09/2010 12:53

ollie - Hope your picnic goes ok. Can't believe the bride's SIL is coming to decorate your house. That would stress me immensely. Hope you all have a nice time anyway.

blossoming - Almost feel honoured that your parents come all the way to Europe and decide to go camping in Germany. There are nice places but I would always go to France/Italy etc... Weather here depends really on where you are: north/east can be very different from south/west. Whereabouts are they staying?

monkeysmama - Wow you are busy today! Returning stuff is a pain but I hope there are some keepers in the Figleaves parcel.

Still recovering from reception yesterday. Should have stayed at home really. I usually don't have a problem to find someone to have a decent conversation with at any kind of function but the people at this do yesterday were unbelievable. I know it was a corporate thing but no one has to talk for three hours about their job or themselves all the time. At least I loved my outfit. Most women in trouser suits or flowery summer dresses. Decided against the black dress and wore a grey silk dress with lilac opaque Falke tights and silver Bloch ballet flats.

happilyeverafter · 03/09/2010 13:45

OWW I like a few pairs of M&S boots, will have to see how they fit my calves, I'm usually ok with long boots but don't want them too baggy.

My White Co order arrived this morning and I can't decide if this grey dress is a keeper or not. It's a lovely snug fit on arms/bust and plenty long enough in the sleeve but the side pockets add bulk to my hips and I can't decide if overall effect is shapely or brick outhouse. Pockets would be handy for work as usually in dresses I have to clip my access pass to the neckline so like idea of them.

I have such a soft spot for casual dresses and not sure if this is blinkering me.

blossoming · 03/09/2010 13:58

fritzi, your outfit for yesterday sounds lovely. My parents go to the Mosel area and camp by the river. We went with them once as teenagers. U was immensely bored and stroppy!!

FritziGreenEyes · 03/09/2010 17:18

blossoming - Lots of vineyards in that area. Not something you are allowed to appreciate as a teenager Grin. Make sure they take back a few cases of wine. If you like white I would recommend Riesling, Müller-Thurgau or some Weißer Burgunder. For red try some Dornfelder or Blauer Spätburgunder. If your parents have been on holiday before I'm sure they know their German wines Wink. Weather forecast for next week is not too bad. At least no rain and fairly warm. Hope they have a safe journey and enjoy their holiday!

blossoming · 03/09/2010 17:33

They usually bring me one bottle of Riesling from Nehren where they stay on the vineyard in a guesthouse for their last week. I prefer reds really but dh tells me it's lovely! Thanks for your good wishes.

CHOOGIRL · 03/09/2010 18:16

Am working really hard at the moment, so I have treated myself to this dress to wear to dinner next week. Does anyone have it? Anyone know what the sizing is like?

blossoming · 03/09/2010 18:26

I have it choo, but in the pink print. It's gorgeous. I have the US 10 and I'm a 12 UK.

happilyeverafter · 03/09/2010 18:29

Choo that dress is gorgeous! Love the colour too.

traceybath · 03/09/2010 18:29

Lovely dress Choo. Hope you get to have a relaxing weekend.

Dolcee - where are you?

Have just ordered this hope its nice when it arrives.

Am still full of cold and headache which is very dull.

CHOOGIRL · 03/09/2010 18:30

Thanks Bloss I'm normally a 12 UK too and ordered up. Do you wear with Spanx or does it drape?

dexter73 · 03/09/2010 18:33

I love the lining of that Barbour!

ApuskiDusky · 03/09/2010 19:05

Hello lovelies! I have been half keeping track of the thread, though have missed a lot of links - but am hoping to get my clothes mojo back after my first shopping outing since the arrival of A. I went into town to get my hair cut and coloured and then ran into Gap to buy a couple of stop-gap jeans - I am not into my normal jeans but too small for my one pair I saved from when I was 2 stone heavier. One pair of mid blue straight leg and one black slim bootcut, sorted!

The news on A's weight is no better, he's now dropped to the 0.4th centile, and we're being referred to the paediatrician. No signs of any other problems but still a bit of a worry. And I am fed up of always worrying about how to get more milk into him. Sorry, whenever I come on here I seem to moan about it!

roary · 03/09/2010 19:23

Hello all
Have finally conquered my cold. Traceybath hope you have recovered and Zembo and Vin thanks for the remedies.

Apuski poor you! Don't feel badly about complaining, it is so stressful. But it will probably all be fine in the end, but the worry is the last thing you need with a newborn.

Choo I love that dress. My going-back-to-work treat after mat leave is going to be a fab dress, either DVF or VW Anglomania.

I have had a haircut, it's fab! I now have a bob with a fringe. Apparently it makes me look younger ;)

Now, I have several link-y questions for you all.

First of all, Bloss, I saw this and immediately thought of our mutual failed Boden leather jacket purchase. And it has two looks. Check the closeup pics.

I am also in the market for a pair of great boots. I only wear flats (sorry, I know, not very stylish but I walk everywhere and was doing serious damage to my feet in heels). I want something a bit clumpy and shoe-bootish to wear over leggings or with tights.

I don't think I can get specific links but here are the boots and I like the Benenden bikers and possibly the Sissinghurst ankle boot.

OOOh, the meetup. I am longing to go but there are two obstacles: DH has to be off work to look after DD and I can't leave DS yet - he's still breastfed and I've never been organized enough to deal with the express/bottle situation. So he'd have to come and although he is VERY stylish I think it's probably not the best plan.

Also, I saw this lovely belt. I am trying to get back in to belts, now I am not pregnant, but do they have to match your shoes?? I have very few brown shoes...

roary · 03/09/2010 19:24

Oooh - also, Anthropologie cord leggings have had an outing and they are FAB.

FritziGreenEyes · 03/09/2010 19:26

Gorgeous dress choo! Where are you going to take it to dinner? I envy your glamorous dinners (but not the hard work).

tracey - Hope arrival of coat will cheer you up! Are you taking any medicine for cold/headache?

apuski - Great to have you back! Hope you feel great after haircut and colour. New jeans sound like a good start to get your clothes mojo back. Lost mine a bit too because the seasons are changing. So sorry that your DS's weight is still worrying you. Have no clue about the centile-thing you are referring to but hope that paediatrician will be of some help and offer reassurance that everything will be alright.

Yes, where is dolcee?

rufus101 · 03/09/2010 19:28

Great dress Choo, great colour.

Great lining on that jacket Tracey.

Apuski I'm sure he'll be fine. Those little smallies are very resilient, he'll take off soon, try not to worry about it.

I ordered these bargainacious j brands last night. I paid an import tax deposit, but hope I am not landed with a big bill when they arrive. (Fingers crossed) I am pretty sure they are the ones I tried on last weekend and which are an eyewatering 275 euro! Has anyone ordered from there?

CHOOGIRL · 03/09/2010 19:30

Frizel we are going China Tang at the Dorchester I am a little bit excited!!

rufus101 · 03/09/2010 19:38

Roary glad you like your haircut. I am still dithering about growing my fringe after letting it grow out a bit. At my next haircut I will have to decide "stay or go". I LOVE fringes, but I always feel that I look like a boring middleaged person when I have cut mine in. Asked DH last night, and he said "I don't know if I like fringes". Hmm, too wary of the "why didn't you tell me you hated it, and that I looked awful?" trap! I feel I either need, long "necklace clasp" length hair (as per Blossooming!) or a short angular cut to just below my jaw. I can't make up my mind, and my friend's wedding is in 4 weeks, so I have to make up my mind soon. (Don't want to look awful in the photos)

FritziGreenEyes · 03/09/2010 19:38

roary - Sorry, but I think the heel of the bikers looks strange for a biker boot. Can't put my finger on it really. Maybe it is just the picture. Sissinghursts would be too shiny for me personally but will probably be useful as an allround boot. Maybe this as a combined ankle boot/biker boot version from the website rufus linked to: here I know £££.

FritziGreenEyes · 03/09/2010 19:46

choo you so need that dress!!!

RedBlueRed · 03/09/2010 20:08

Please tell me what you think of these. I'm thinking with some opaque tights or leggings and a sweater dress for work. Alternatively with these and a feminine top for weekend wear?

Should I or shouldn't I?

Alternatively I like the second from the right on this page but when you click to view they are a vile chip board effect adn a lot darker...has anyone seen in the flesh?

rufus101 · 03/09/2010 20:12

With those jeans (which are lovely BTW) I'd go with the second brown pair Cain

mrsjuan · 03/09/2010 20:27

Choo - that dress is to die for - I am so Envy of your life sometimes!

Cain - I'm not sure about the sole of those first boots but like the jeans (I have them in my basket) and the second pair of boots.

Tracey - lovely coat, hope you feel better sooon.

Roary - glad you're loving your new hairstyle - it sounds great.

Apuski - I know how emotionally draining slow weight gain can be. DD was a PITA in that respect too. Sounds like you're doing fab, hope the paed referall is useful
