Don't feel guilty Bloss, it sounds as if you were helping out too much. As Tracey says, you can be there for emergencies, and that is the real peace of mind for mums. It is for me anyway.
I know someone has linked to these Acne boots in black before, but aren't they lovely in brown? I have loads of boots, (am a bootoholic) but my previous clumpy brown ones after 7 (yes 7) years of trusty service have given up the ghost!

rufus101 · 01/09/2010 20:53

Glad the moles checked out ok Tracey.

Zembo · 01/09/2010 21:00

Tracey you must be relieved re: moles.

NY do let me know how your DH got on, the fast breaking in a bedouin tent sounds very exotic.

Wish I had legs long enough for those boots Rufus and still trying to find this dress in xs. Have checked crumpet site and Liberty, both with no joy.

The Wolseley is fine for me. I'd really like to meet Cakey too, did you agree on a venue for the later meet too?

rufus101 · 01/09/2010 21:08

Zembo I'm only 5ft 5! Love that dress, beautiful colour.

blossoming · 01/09/2010 21:21

Guilty for saying no libra. but the situation got me down last term so better to be honest rather than say okay and then complain to everyone who'll listen (ie you lot!)

Good about the moles traceyb, sorry you're feeling poorly. Sure Vogue will help. I have the French one to flick through.
Dh is jealous as he would love to go to the Wolseley again. We need a head count!

Zembo · 01/09/2010 21:23

Rufus 5ft 5 is tall in my books! (I'm only 5ft)

blossoming · 01/09/2010 21:24

Oh, another thing, I linked to the Barbour cameron coat on the waterproof coat thread. Anyone know how their sizes come up?

VerityBrulee · 01/09/2010 22:16

Hello Smile

Bloss welcome back from your hols, very Envy that you saw the sun! Thanks for remembering, I am starting on Sept 13th, have new notebooks and propelling pencil in a red leather pencil case all ready to go. Can't wait!

DO NOT feel guilty about your nephew. I ended up as an unpaid childminder and taxi driver to DHs niece as I just couldn't say "No", I ended up really stressed out and very resentful. You have your own family to take care of and that's enough. Any news of the teaching job?

Tracey I so much want the Minx coat, but don't need it, or so I am trying to convince myself. I have just stopped working part time, so no income and I can't really justify it. I want all the details though so I can live vicariously through you Smile I am so looking forward to the US sept vogue, it is the highlight of my magazine year! Phew about the moles, btw.

EIE you look fantastic. Glad things are looking up for you.

Vino keep being strong, you need to get that man out of your life. Hope your exam prep is going well.

I had 2 elective C sections after a traumatic birth with DS1. They were lovely, calm events, dd's was particularly fab as all the theatre staff clapped when she was born. We had been talking about my having two boys already and I had said how I would love a girl this time. It was an amazing moment. The recovery was a doddle, no pain at all. Very different to too tight stitching up of an episiotamy

I have been doing a diet of sorts Clean and Lean diet. Sounds pretty similar to Dukan, lots of protien, veggies and good fats. I must say I feel really energetic and, well, quite lean! I have to be on a dairy and yeast free diet anyway due to allergies, so it fits in with that well. BTW, there have been great offers on prawns in M&S for the last while, I stocked up the freezer!

Dc went back to school yesterday, I really miss having them around. They had a half day yesterday and as we live quite a distance from school it wasn't worth my while going home, so I forced myself to spend 3 hours in Dublin's answer to Westfield. What was I saying about not spending on clothes? Found myself coming home with that Mango silk leopard print dress and a navy sailor collared cardigan from Zara.

And finally, I must make a confession here as I cannot tell anyone in RL: I started my Christmas shopping Blush Picked up some cute things for dc in Cath Kidston, and a book my mum will love. I feel kind of relieved to have made a start, I find the run up to Christmas mega stressful as I want it all to be prefect and dh does absolutely NOTHING to contribute. But that's a whole other story as they say!

notyummy · 01/09/2010 22:16

Wolseley good for me - lateish lunch perhaps to let it roll over into a later drink for Cake??

Zembo - fast breaking now on Monday instead as one of the families 6 (hope she has help while he is working long hours!!) small children is ill. Not too serious, but they don't want to spread it.

Love to think I'm "tall" Zembo

Don't know about the Barbour sizing Bloss so can't help you out there.

Was looking at the Phase Eight site tonight. Some lovely dresses to tempt you.

[[http://www.phase-eight.co.uk/fcp/product/fashion//Anya-Jersey-Dress/201101000?colour=multi this one in brown to go with my brown boots when I eventually track them down\!

this would be good for work and good value Colour would be good on you Bloss

feathers dress But dry clean only. Don't like dry cleaning unless it's something really expensive that I don't wear frequently as I never feel "dry" cleaning makes clothes properly clean. Although it is a necessary evil.

really like this black skirt and they have any number of tops that would go with it. this one puts me in mind of you NY
All on my wish list!

LOVE the feathers dress Rufus. And yes - as well as maxis, I love stripes! According to Grazia, they are now wider and to be called 'hoops'Hmm

Good luck with course Verity, envy you with new pencil case, cool erasers and sharpeners feeling!

rufus101 · 01/09/2010 22:23

Cross posts!

Lucky you Everything would love to be an hour glass.

NY you are my partner in crime for stripes (hoops!)

VerityBrulee · 01/09/2010 22:27

Rufus I love that skirt, also liked the second boots Smile

Took the dc for breakfast at the Wolesley when we were in London last, they loved it, great sense of occasion. I imagine afternoon tea there would be lovely, or you could all do Pret a Portea. Very appropriate Wink

blossoming · 01/09/2010 22:36

Glad you got your pencil case sorted verity!

Phase Eight are being a bit more adventurous I'd say rufus. Can't wait for some real life shopping. Unfortunately, Chester, being old and all, has all the best shops with stone steps to go up to or down to. Not easy with a buggy. Such a great shopping city though.
Will stay at home for a while though, but contemplating ordering a £245 Barbour (with money saved from sending the boden leather jacket back!) Too much? Barbour and Hunters? Likely to get laughed out of town?

AllBuggiedOut · 01/09/2010 22:44

Wolseley good for me and seems to have options to suit most budgets. I need to find out what time my evening do is starting, but I can probably fit in with anything from early afternoon onwards.

traceybath · 02/09/2010 06:01

Bloss - I am loving Barbour at the moment - am waiting to see what the Anya Hindmarch collaboration looks like but if I'm not liking it at going to get this in navy.

Sizing is pretty true to size and if anything on the more fitted stuff its pretty slim fitting.

Children up at 5.30am aaaggghhh and still feeling dreadful so quiet day here today.

Right off to make coffee.

Zembo · 02/09/2010 06:20

Ladies, I think afternoon tea would suit me better for the meet depending on when Cakey can make it (I think she said 6pm)

tracey i had a loooong spell of my DS getting up at 5.30am, but he suddenly switched to 6.30am about 10 days ago Confused - you have my sympathies.

NY your DH sounds like he likes a challenge, he should try fasting on the day he goes to his colleagues house - it's only 4.30am to 8pm now Wink

dexter73 · 02/09/2010 06:50

traceybath - I have the International jacket like that in purple and I love it!

traceybath · 02/09/2010 07:21

Ooooh Dexter I am very tempted as tried it on and it does fit very nicely.

Also half the price of the anya collaboration.

Zara's now online by the way.

FritziGreenEyes · 02/09/2010 07:31

tracey - That Barbour jacket looks great. Good news about your moles. 5:30 is early, would feel dreadful too. Hope the coffee will help.

zembo - Were you looking for somewhere to stay in London? We always stay at the Victoria Park Plaza. They have reasonable rates for the weekend. And I love the fact that I just have to hop on a bus that takes me to the Kings Road in minutes.

FritziGreenEyes · 02/09/2010 07:37

I'm enjoying a cup of tea in bed whilst browsing Zara online shop. Bliss!!! Leopard dress anyone?

bunnymother · 02/09/2010 07:59

Hmm, Zara site crashing for me...
