Cakey you're off tomorrow aren't you? Buon viaggio e buone vacanze. Hope you have a brilliant time.

I went shopping today. I am knackered so haven't read through all the posts yet but wanted to share some of my purchases. I think I haven't thought through what look(s) I want to go for and seem to have accumulated a series of things that are all quite different.

I got a beautiful navy silk shirt in Massimo Dutti which looks similar to a Gucci one I have from years ago which is tiny on me now. Also got a khaki coloured cashmere mix jumper/short dress with little military style buttons on the shoulders (epulets?) and a navy poloneck. Can't link as their website is silly but for those doing navy this season I think the shirt is worth checking out.

Zara proved fruitful though I think some of it is going back. I bit the bullet and bought the chain print shirt in all 3 colours. Dp (and everyone else I know) hates them but Blush I have such a soft spot for that kind of thing and will wear them a lot. Also got a camel coloured dress with a ruffled front, a black/brown fluffy waistcoat, a camel cardigan (going back-makes me look gigantic), a camel 3/4 length skirt I am hoping I can get to work as I love it, navy peg leg trousers, two animal print blouses (I need more Hmm and a navy cardigan. And masses for dd.

Tried loads on in Mango but it all looked so cheap apart from the dress LaCake linked to (navy pleated number) which I loved but made me look big Sad.

Got bra measured again today thinking I'd left it long enough post bfing. I've gone from a 34F to a 32G Hmm. Before I was pg the first time I was a 32B so this is all quite new to me. I was over the moon to hear the woman tell me that any cup is going to be a bit baggy on me as "you've lost a lot of the breast fullness". She did add that I shouldn't worry about it.

Had some more to link to but dd is crying so gotta run night all......

CHOOGIRL · 28/08/2010 23:16

Hi All

I'm back. Not had time to catch up on all the thread but will do tomorrow. Just wanted to wish LTEC a great holiday.

We stayed here as recommended by MM It was fab.

S&B wise there was a lot of Vilebrequion on the men and Havananias in every colour.

Quite a few flat tummies around the pool.
I took Traceybath's advice and positioned myself near the larger ladies and made mental note to try harder next year.

I didn't do capsule wardrobe Blush but didn't wear half of what I packed. Days in beach dresses and aforesaid Havananias. Evenings in Maxi dress and R&B Glads.

Ate and drank lots so consequently am feeling very fat. Diet will have to go on hold as I am at the Lanesborough this week and C London next week.Yes another Virgo here!! What on earth am I going to wear? Nothing fits.

Off to Bluewater tomorrow for school shoes for dd who starts Reception this week. Might have a quick browse of NAP before I go to bed. Night all

AllBuggiedOut · 28/08/2010 23:59

Thrilled for you tracey Smile

Have a great holiday LTEC

The party went really well (and thank you for your kind comments - although I can take credit for nothing other than hard work; almost all the ideas came from copious googling!) DS was delighted with it all, although sad that his best friend didn't show (something about a family crisis and his dad forgetting Hmm) and a little cross that we didn't do one of the games we'd planned nor sing happy birthday, but we did sing to him later, and it's not his birthday until Monday so I think I'll get away with that one if I make him another cake!

I bought DH a pair of Vilebrequion swimmers a while back choo, and while they look great by the pool, he wore them coming down a water slide once and got stuck - they just wouldn't slide!

Zembo · 29/08/2010 07:00

Morning ladies!

Choo glad you had a good holiday, very stylish indeed! I bought my DD her reception shoes last week - got these startire trilogy ones. The ones I really liked all had buckles which take her ages to do up so went for good old velcro instead. Also thanks for reminding me of Vilebrequion - my DH likes them so a future present idea. I'm getting him a couple of Duchamp ties for Eid. He loves them. Can't see the point of ties personally Grin

MM you sure know how to shop Smile, haven't had time to take in all your purchases yet!

ABO so glad the party was a success. We forgot to sing happy birthday on my DD's 3rd birthday too, so made up for it by singing it twice this year. I'm planning a teddy bears picnic party for my DS's 2nd birthday. It's not until Dec but I've got quite a few things coming up so trying to get my head around everything (was googling away for the research last night). Just booked a 3 week holiday to Bangladesh flying out on his actual 2nd birthday!! I love having loads of events to look forward to and plan for. Have a good day everyone.

OllieWollieWoo · 29/08/2010 07:38

Morning all.

Welcome back Choo & Roary! Like everything said, its been quite quiet around here. All I can think of to update you on is LTEC ordered a beautiful Tibi maxi dress, which was then out of stock, then one was returned and CS's rang her and she got it and loves it - see her blog as fab pics of it (and her!) on there - and she has bagged a job with LA working on their website!. Hells had a great trip to Paris, ABO has just hosted a cool spy themed party for DS (I will be nicking all the ideas for a few years time), Everything had what looked like 3 fantastic days at the Vintage Goodwood Festival and was admired by Daisy Lowe no less, Bunnymother has tracked down the perfect maternity coat from French Connection, Blossoming is still away on hols, Fritzi has a poorly foot and has an air cast on it which is proving difficult to syle fashion wise (!), Tracey had a b-day on which DH didn't produce a pressie but has made up for it by getting a diamond eternity ring (yey for Mr Bath!). Sure I have missed loads out (sorry W&A's) but thats what I could think of off the top of my head at 8.30 on a Sunday morning.

traceybath · 29/08/2010 08:06

Morning and brilliant catch-up OWW.

Zembo - so annoying your airer didn't arrive. Was telling my mum all about the concept on the phone as am waiting for your review before I purchase one.

Everything - gorgeous shirt - do love a bit of navy silk and how funny to then read MM's just bought one too.

MM sounds some lovely purchases - I think there's some gorgeous stuff around for little girls at the moment - gap and white company in particular.

Choo - yeay to fab holiday - you should join ipodge on twitter. I also blame this rubbishy weather for my weight gain - too many days baking with the children when its been raining.

Poor DH still very poorly so not sure what we're going to do today.

Oh I bought a little jacket yesterday when doing a quick dash to buy food. Its new look but I think channels the burberry look quite well.

Very neat fitting and nice and short on me.

Also picked up some nice cotton tights grey ribbed and raspberry ones.

Still laughing at hells and her burberry trying on session.

Oooh and Hells have you been to NAP yet for your McQueen preview?

FritziGreenEyes · 29/08/2010 09:38

Welcome back roary and choo. Glad to hear you had fab holidays! Looking forward to details of your outfits for your glamorous dinners. The chef at the Lanesborough is originally German I think.

monkeysmama - Was in Massimo Dutti yesterday and was considering the navy silk shirt. Couldn't be bothered to try it on but it is lovely! As is the one everything linked to.

Love the military jacket and the tights tracey. Hope your DH will be better soon.

Glad the party went well abo.

Nothing better than a holiday to look forward to zembo!

Romanarama · 29/08/2010 12:02

Hello! I'm back from Italian countryside. Not v S&B - last year's bikini plus wellies most of the time! Also had a very non S&B week in Switz - I can't recommend it highly enough for families. We love the Bernese Overland. Good places to stay are Grindelwald or Murren (no cars in Murren). Buy a week pass for the trains and cable cars (free for under-11s) and spend the days riding around on cute, clean and efficient mountain transport, admiring the cows and marmots, eating in the mountain restaurants which all have kids menus and nearly all have playgrounds etc. My boys loved all the cable cars, the 'rodelbahn' mountainside toboggan run (we all loved this), the mini-golf, swimming pools, everything really. Lovely - even if your kids won't walk much, and even better if they do. There are quite a few pushchair friendly walks too, in fact. www.grindelwald.ch

Which White Co poncho are you all enjoying? It's freezing here.

monkeysmama · 29/08/2010 12:14

Glad you had a good holiday Roman.

I have decided I have to have a navy maxi dress for my upcoming holiday but now I can't find one anywhere. I should've bought the Isabella Oliver one last week.

I hadn't read the posts when I posted my shopping spree delights and made me smile to look at Everything's link to a similar shirt. I think I may wear mine today (I'm not dressed yet Blush) but I am a bit Confused about what to wear in general atm and esp footwear. I don't want to wish summer away by wearing my a/w gear already.

Baby shouting for me again! Sorry.......

FritziGreenEyes · 29/08/2010 12:33

Hello roma! Holiday in Switzerland sounds great. Have thought about taking DD to German alps next summer. Some places have similar activities. Would prefer Switzerland for the food though.

OllieWollieWoo · 29/08/2010 15:55

Hi Roman - holiday to Switzerland sounds great. One to cosndier with DSs for the future I think.

I may well get chucked off this thread for this but my feet are sooooo cold today. I have just ordered these:
here

(Loved one of the comments re the customer buying them to match her new bedroom decor! V W&A!)

traceybath · 29/08/2010 17:25

Romana - glad you had a lovely holiday - has work eased up yet?

This is the poncho is lovely and very warm and cosy.

OWW - heating has gone again as DH still ill and I've got horrid headache. I wear uggs as slippers in the winter so as to be nice and cosy.

happilyeverafter · 29/08/2010 18:05

Roary I love those cord leggings.

I have had a productive weekend, found the perfect red flats for my dress, thanks Verity for texture idea, they are suede and great with navy tights.

My DH is reading Treasure Island Tracey. I downloaded onto ipad to read to DD, forgot about it then DH took it away with him for a few days, started it out of boredom and really enjoyed it.

I picked up some grey rib tights too in Next, very like the New Look ones you linked Tracey.

Bought some black harem inspired lounge pants in Nike, very thin/soft with a roll top waist band, not too huge in the leg but come in very snug and skinny from mid calf down. I am really pleased with them.

My last purchase of the weekend was this bargain cardi in black, I don't like the website photos but in rl it is much nicer, very drapey and a very fine knit. I have the grey and it's been really useful open/belted in at the waist so was thinking would team the black with this belt and skinnies/boots.

traceybath · 29/08/2010 19:03

Nice buys happily. And yes Roary I also loved those cords.

And meant to say the skirt you tried on - did it sit on your waist? Its just I don't really have a waist so always have to size up in stuff that is very fitted round there.

Friend has just moved to Canada as her DH has a job there - sounds like it will be wonderful for them.

vinovino · 29/08/2010 19:09

roman and choo your holidays sound really fantastic

roary you have made me want to emigrate

monkeysmama your haul sounds fantastic, especially your navy shirt

happilyeverafter excellent shopping there, gold star Grin

I have been angelic and have not purchased one single thing recently (er for a few days anyway) Oh I ordered this which is nice but vaguely a bit big and maternity esque.. will probably keep (ah how I love clothes that can be justified as work clothes Blush)

LTEC think you've left but have a great holiday! have also been thinking of your friends and hope they are okay.

tracey hurrah for diamond ring!!! Smile Envy!! well done Mr Bath!

Have been frozen today and have had heating on. DS is comng down with something so has been rather screechy and P is officially jobless! argh, not entitled to benefits to help with rent because he owns houses elsewhere so he is expecting me to somehow magic the rent and his mortgage payments from my shopping fund overdraft! Doesn't seem right and isn't sustainable! He is edging ever nearer eviction.. think of all the handbags could buy

Oh and rufus I think a very dark muted metallic slouchy clutch bag would look nice with your fab dress, I have one in mind but can't find a link! sorry.. will be back

traceybath · 29/08/2010 20:29

Vino - are you around for meet-up on the 16th October?

Your P is sooooo naughty. Honestly without being too blunt and do feel free to ignore me but if I were you I would tell him it was over and he needed to be making plans to support himself and his child so perhaps he needs to sell a house to do that. Golly - he's a case isn't he?

bunnymother · 29/08/2010 21:15

Vin - the audacity of your DS' father is quite something. I 2nd Tracey's advice.

Lovely sounding holidays Roma and Choo!

ABO - congrats on party!

Tracey - love New Look jacket! Wish I could buy - enjoy! oh, and diamond ring - what a marvel Mr Bath is!! I told DH and his face fell Grin. As you know, am bypassing diamonds in favour of FT nanny, but you can be sure that the sparkling lovelies get my heart beating much faster!

eie - lovely handbag links!

Roary - hope you are enjoying browsing for a luxe handbag (don't disabuse me of the luxe factor!!)

anyone know where I can get a good, sleek, small leather cross body bag? Think that's what I need so can take my lipgloss, keys, phone and card to playground and still play w DD (shoulder bag swings down and likely to hit DD when I bend down).

bunnymother · 29/08/2010 21:17

Oh God - meant to say Rufus re handbag. Looking forward to having both my body AND my brain back!

bunnymother · 29/08/2010 21:21

MM great shopping! I also really like Mass. Dutti - went there today (sheltering w DD from the rain) and enjoyed a good grope of the lovely natural fibre shirts and cardis Grin. Lovely colours, too. The sulkily went and bought a new vest from H&M as spilt coffee on big tum tum. Glam.

Zembo DH doesn't wear ties - all about the cufflinks. Man jewellery. So I buy him those on special occasions.

Zembo · 29/08/2010 21:25

Roman love the sound of your holidays and good to hear from you.

I've just been browsing the Brora final clearance. this white cotton tank and the polka dot blouse are already in my basket. Now deliberating over the v neck cardigan. Problem is I can't decide between the empire, french navy or jade colours. I think all the colours would suit my dark colouring, but ordering all 3 would be a bit naughty since I haven't tried them on irl. Any advise wise ladies? I'd probably be wearing them (oh dear already using the plural Grin) to work. This cold weather is making me crave cashmere!

monkeysmama · 29/08/2010 21:29

Buona sera belle

Just in from a surprise last minute meal out with best mates (who moved to Surrey Sad) and our 3 LOs. I wore one of my new beloved Zara chain print (think the cheesiest Versace) shirts which I love so much I keep stroking and H&M roll up chinos. Well, I wore that to go swimming and they called us and said to meet for dinner. Never knowingly underdressed and all that. Kind of pulled it together with a tan double belt and tan clogs.

Bought a navy maxi in Bullfrogs. Cheap as chips (£20) but suits a purpose. Am very worried about looking fat and cheap on this posh holiday here.

Am feeling a bit pssed off. Some of you may recall that Vino* had a clear out a few months back. I was the welcome recipient of a pair of Nudie grey/black jeans. They're the best jeans I've ever owned. This summer they did a bright blue pair but I missed the boat and didn't buy them. I bid all day on an eBay pair and missed them by 50p Angry.

Right, off to read posts and promise next post will be about everyone but me. Sorry Blush.

Zembo · 29/08/2010 21:32

Bunny your spilling coffee and having to sulk off to H&M just made me laugh!!! My DH likes cufflinks too, but LOVES ties. He is totally unstylish and a lot geeky and strangely enough it's the geekiness (well intelligence I suppose) that's the attraction. He's in a little league of his own Grin

Tracey meant to say really like your New Look purchases esp the jacket.

bunnymother · 29/08/2010 21:33

MM - I missed out on maternity Baxters on eBay a couple of weeks ago, by £1 or so. Hve thought about them every day since. With a big frown. I feel your pain.

AllBuggiedOut · 29/08/2010 22:36

Also loving those cords - can somebody in the know please tell me what trouser shape we should be wearing this season? I thought I'd heard tell of bootcut coming back, but can we also do skinny Confused?

Love the Brora blouse zembo but can't do white sadly.

It's DS's actual birthday tomorrow and he wants to go to Wagamama for lunch. It's a replacement bus service into London from here tomorrow, which means I think we'll have to go to Norwich instead. He'll love the train ride so hopefully that will be OK. And WM is very close to Zara so I'm thinking of popping in (is that really dreadful on his birthday?)... will check out mm's blouses Grin

Watching with interest to see if anyone can find you a bag bunny. I also favour a small cross body number and need a new one - I've had my current cheapo Nica one for a couple of years Blush

And is this dress worth a punt, or will it look dated this season do you think? Thanks!
