You can dress up for the meet-up everything Smile How about jeans with a fab top for MIL lunch?

traceybath · 30/08/2010 07:21

Georgina - I got the xs small poncho and its fab and not too voluminous at all Smile

Bunny - yeap - in your case i'd take the nanny and diamonds will come later Wink Lol at vest replacement - I was constantly spilling stuff on my bump when pregnant.

Zembo - I have that spot blouse and its really lovely. Also like all the colours of the cardigan so thats helpful Wink

ABO - I like that dress and think it will last well. That shape is very flattering I think. Happy Birthday to your DS - have a lovely day.

Everything - glad things are picking up Smile And just really dress up and show them how its done Wink

Right off to John Lewis later to buy jars as making plum jam today.

Zembo · 30/08/2010 08:12

Ooohh just quickly, Tracey is the blouse small fitting, wondering if I should order the 10 as well as the 8?

Isn't this crumpet sweater dress gorgeous. Sold out in my size though Sad

WhatsWrongWithYou · 30/08/2010 12:51

Hello I hope you don't mind if I butt in - just clicked on the Brora link (thanks Zembo), and am thrilled to find the polka dot blouse, which I nearly ordered months ago but found one similar in Zara - now needs updating, obv!

I also like this, for the next few weeks when sleeveless feels too exposed but only a light layer is needed over.

Not sure which size to order, though - I usually vary between a 10 and a 12, but would be opening the top buttons to accommodate the E cups Blush, so the shoulder and waist fit is what matters.

Best wishes all.

WhatsWrongWithYou · 30/08/2010 12:52

God, it looks hideous over that awful dress. I was thinking of navy.

traceybath · 30/08/2010 13:30

Zembo - the blouse is a slime cut but you're tiny so an 8 would be absolutely fine I'm sure.

Whatswrongwithyou - pretty cardigan! I could spend a fortune on brora - their cashmere is so much better quality than the cheaper makes.

Zembo - oooooh love that dress - crumpet have their own website and think liberty sell it too . . .

WhatsWrongWithYou · 30/08/2010 13:39

Thanks - any clues about the Brora sizing? Does vanity sizing apply, do you think, or should I go for a 12? (I'm a 10 in Kew but a 12 in NL).

rufus101 · 30/08/2010 13:52

Love that dress Zembo, that colour is just divine.
EIS agree you should show your SIL and MIL how it's done. There is no excuse for pale denim and black boots. I know exactly the look you mean and particularly dislike it. Will never wear pale denim no matter if is top of the style pops. Love the bags you linked to BTW, especially the Miu Miu. Maybe I should look on eBay. Have you any tips for spotting fakes?
Vin your P just floors me. I admire your restraint. I'd have to be physically removed from his throat at this stage. The only thing that would dissuade me, would ne the thoughts of DC visiting me in prison.
LOL at the coffee Bunny. I was always hitting my boobs off stuff when pregnant and breastfeeding. Couldn't get used to boobs that size!

roary · 30/08/2010 13:55

I too have the popcorn poncho and it fits briliantly.

Tracey did you just post a White Company code? I can't find it. I'm very tempted by this

Ollie thanks for the update!

ABO I think we can mix bootcut and skinnies. I also got a pair of 7s called Kimmie (meant to be for curvy figures, which I am not, but look great - they are bootcut). But the more fashion forward stores I have been to lately seem to be showing both but bootcut mainly in denim. And the Anthropologie skinny cords are unbelievably comfy and look brilliant on. They were selling like hotcakes as all the salesgirls were wearing them!

I noticed that my FCUK Birdie dress got a mention in the Guardian this weekend! (It's this one. It's brilliant.

ANyone have any good sites for belts?

I have a stinking cold and two jetlagged kids to show for my trip to Canada. DD was chatting away in bed at 2am. I called to her to lie down and go to bed and a little voice piped up "Mummy, I ARE asleep!". It was such a lovely trip though, I can't complain - Canada has cold winters but consistently gorgeous summers and it is such an easy place to live. Sigh. DH is AUstralian though and I think if we left here it would be to go there.

traceybath · 30/08/2010 13:59

I'd say brora sizing is pretty accurate and if anything on the smaller side.

And zembo - I meant slim cut not 'slime' - honestly my typing!

Roary - white co code is spg10 - lovely dress. I linked to your cords on another thread - which colour did you get?

roary · 30/08/2010 14:01

As usual forgot to say:

ABO Love the sparkly dress and also love Zembo's link to the crumpet - sorry about sizes. ALso, Zembo, anything a breastfeeding mama can take for a stinking cold?

And I have missed the convesration about a cross body bag for Bunny but dare I (VERY HESITANTLY) suggest Radley? I know, I know, twee doggy labels and blah blah frumpcity, but they do a great plain crossbody bag with a discreet dog tag that you can clip off. I have one and I get lots of compliments and it's so practical. It's this one

roary · 30/08/2010 14:03

Tracey I got the black, but the green are very lovely - they are a nice dark green that's not too army-ish, if that makes sense! THanks for the code.

FritziGreenEyes · 30/08/2010 14:10

bunny - Maybe this? Could work for summer/winter wardrobe. Colour maybe not ideal for your grey coat though.

FritziGreenEyes · 30/08/2010 14:17

studded

WhatsWrongWithYou · 30/08/2010 14:22

Thanks Tracey < flexes credit card >.

Meant to say, someone was looking for a navy maxi (was it MonkeysMama? Saw one in FC the other day but it's not on the website yet. Might be worth a look?

WhatsWrongWithYou · 30/08/2010 14:24

Cheap but cute bag.

FritziGreenEyes · 30/08/2010 14:24

Autograph, also available in tan. bunny were you looking for a particular colour?

WhatsWrongWithYou · 30/08/2010 14:25

NL leather!!

traceybath · 30/08/2010 14:53

On the subject of cashmere dresses this one is gorgeous in the cranberry.

GeorginaWorsley · 30/08/2010 15:30

Thanks tracey.
I love White Company knits,I got a fab brand new slate grey linen cardigan on ebay a few weeks back for £20!

vinovino · 30/08/2010 16:55

ARGH I have kicked him out again. He started attacking me and getting really awful, apparently I provoked him by asking if he was tired Confused had a huge row as I then was like 'I provoked you?? what's an affair and serious financial catastrophes? I think they are provocation!'
I honestly hope he doesn't come back. I am very stressed out about keeping roof over DS's head while I'm not on full salary etc but seriously, the man is no help at all. I've given it half a decade now I think I may have been too kind.
No doubt he will breeze in later on as if nothing has happened Hmm

Anyway on another note- wow how expensive have blochs become? comfy though but that is a bit much (see, see, I'm suddenly wise!)

everything glad to hear things are getting a bit better

roary- manuka honey and lemon with hot water? lots of raspberries, cranberry juice etc to up your vitamin c, not sure if echinacea is BF friendly but if it is then it works

Loving slime cut blouses Grin

better go before I click on links and buy everything Blush

vinovino · 30/08/2010 16:58

Oh can anyone get the my-wardrobe mumsnet discount to work? Is there a code? It seems a bit wrong that they advertise discounts and then there isn't one?

FritziGreenEyes · 30/08/2010 18:22

Oh vino that's terrible, poor you. Is there anything you can do to keep him out of the house?
