Sat on train heading north. Have just enjoyed two packs of m&s sushi and a good read of grazia and Italian grazia while dd sleeps in pram. I'm in total love with the Chloe outfit on the contents page of grazia. This season is all the things I love most-I've been wearing camel for years (and have faced accusations of dressing too Italian), black is back, animal print (my fave) is in, and slim line, simple, tailored clothes are my absolute favourite. Give me a decent pair of black trousers and shirt any day. I've realised recently it is the only thing I miss about work. I loved work clothes. Anyway, Saturday is the big shop! Off to Bluewater so high streety but we need to get a few holiday bits, some a/w stuff, a suitcase and a new Chloe handbag for me. Oh, that last bit isn't true really though dp is on a stag do the night before and I'm
hoping he won't notice if I buy a handbag I've seen and love.

I fancy a fluffy waistcoat but not sure what to look for. Have any of you seen the black leather longer length Wallis skirt in rl? I saw it on line and looked lovely.

I also need two new pairs of jeans. I can spend max £400. I don't want to feel intimidated or embarrassed into a purchase but I want some I can love so much I can dispose of the other 20 pairs-where shall I go? I think I may need to go up town for those?

Finally, who else is shredding? Is it possible I'm seeing results after a week/10 days?! I feel thinner which is all the matters to me really! Won't get to shred for 2 days so thinking I might go for a run instead? Am
wearing my (gold!) trainers to travel so I can do some exercise. Dp can't believe what has happened to me. He shredded with me last night and was so funny. We had to pause Gillian for a moment as we were on the floor laughing during star jumps.

monkeysmama · 25/08/2010 11:52

Ah, forgot to add that Cakey, as fritzi said the idea of your shrekalikies eating dinner made me smile.

Dd's not been pleased about wearing a nappy to travel. She said (in Italian Grin) "I'm a big girl now not a baby", "soon I will wear make up and eat nuts and put tampax in my bum". She was 2 in May. I think she's lived before.

OllieWollieWoo · 25/08/2010 12:19

Running in between schhol pick (Wed afts off) and trip to playground. Head treatment thingy at hairdressers was lovely but only 15 mins long and a bit of a rip off - head was massaged with warm stones (!) but then was shampooed with some posh truffle based shampoo (230euros a bottle) which was gorgeous - hair now silky smooth and shiney! Nice to experience but not as good as a proper head massage imo.

I too am not feeling W&A - had an hour pottering round a small village high street which has a few posh boutiques and didnt feel v inspired.

Thought this possibly has potential for a summer/autumn crossover dress on the M&S website tho ??? Not for me but someone else may like it ?(or have I lost my mojo too?!)damm polyester again tho!

I sent a sniffy email to M&S re their response to my query re boys shoes (wanted me to scan picture from catalogue in as they didnt have it) and they have sent an equally sniffy one back! Feel quite chastened!

FritziGreenEyes · 25/08/2010 12:43

Ahh monkeysmama, I'm also hankering after a Chloe handbag. Have a good trip!

bunnymother · 25/08/2010 12:49

Oh ladies, forgive me for I have sinned. I have been buying clothes without you! Although they are newborn baby clothes, so am sure you will forgive me Grin. Also, having technology issues (iPhone not syncing) and DD goes crazy when I am on the computer.

So sorry to breeze in without reading thread... But help please? Think the French Connection Lark coat is my perfect maternity coat. Love the electric blue but not in my size, so do I get the green but look at 4th photo for true rep of colour or hold on and see if the blue appears on eBay (not avail in stores - is from 2009)??? Confusion reigns!!

FritziGreenEyes · 25/08/2010 13:08

bunny - Love the coat. Did you want blue? Think the green is great too if you suit the colour. Found similar here in grey. Still available in 10 but more expensive than ebay.

FritziGreenEyes · 25/08/2010 13:18

Have found this shearling coat... Not sure if the waterfall detail will make it look too baggy. Opinions?

bunnymother · 25/08/2010 13:48

No Fritzi, no!! Now I have too many options! Wink The coat looks really good in grey, doesn't it?! Oh dear. I would love the blue, but now have to have a think.

traceybath · 25/08/2010 13:58

OWW - naughty M&S - how dare they be sniffy - surely they should know whats in their brochures.

Bunny - ooooh newborn clothes Grin Have you tried ringing the french connection at bicester village as they may have one in the blue. I do love the grey too though but not quite so keen on the green.

Fritzi -ouch to your foot and not sure about the coat. I adore shearling but yes - not sure about the waterfall bit.

MM - bless your DD! Arthur wore pants for 15 minutes and then wanted nappy back on so will wait another couple of weeks. I just need him dry by jan when he starts pre-school so plenty of time.

H and I are jigsaw crazy at the moment - famous five one today.

FritziGreenEyes · 25/08/2010 16:28

You are right tracey the waterfall bit is too fussy. But it is sooo close. Will have a browse in RL second hand shops to see if I can find something similar.

traceybath · 25/08/2010 17:38

Joseph normally do a gorgeous shearling coat every winter but they tend to be £££.

This thread is sooooo quiet at the moment.

bunnymother · 25/08/2010 18:07

Hi! Thanks for the coat feedback + suggestion, Tracey - will call about the blue and if no luck, will order the grey. Thanks ladies!

Anyone else's DC struggling w the enforced indoors due to wet weather? DD is going NUTS and is sending me NUTS. NOT enjoying the SAHM lifestyle at the mo. More of it to come, though . Then am racing, I tell you, racing back to work!

vinovino · 25/08/2010 18:28

Hahahahaha monkeysmama your DD is hilarious!!!

Re jeans I have found paige jeans magically shrink/lift/etc my backside more than any other (tmi!?) but then again they do seem to stretch quite quickly..

I also love work clothes Blush I would happuly wear work clothes every single day if I didn't look a bit out of place in them [shakes head at self]

LTEC excellent packing, take the tibi it's gorgeous and agree re something to cover shoulders

I am currently commiting the sin of eating DS's food and MNing while he is sat with me in his high chair.... bye bye diet!

Gorgeous zebra scarf everything! And your holiday wardrobe is really impressive. I always pack too much. I find it difficult to choose shoes for every eventuality.

LetThemEatCake · 25/08/2010 19:58

hi ladies

it is v.quiet on here of late, isn't it? Not sure whether bc of some of our most avid A&Wers being on hols or whether everyone just losing interest in our cult thread a bit?? Shock Or whether just between seasons so not much of a shopping nature to talk about??

MM your daughter is sooo funny!! can't wait to meet her Smile vin, we were talking about meeting up one day in your 'hood - would yo ube up for that? Not sure when mm is away now but as of return from Toscana will have a couple of days with just bub as nursery will be back and master C is starting. Thanks, btw vin for your lovely poodle/ niece comment - am very tempted to go back and purchase now! as for your P, I am speechless. The rudeness of the man beggars belief.

haven't had time to click on links as am in LA frenzy - writing up a storm, all going well and meeting/ launch tomorrow with various mag types Think will wear navy Wallis dress and Hasbeens, sod the rain, I'll be inside anyway.

also, have so much room left in my carry-on bag that I think I might take the Maje snakeskin as an evening dress. Decided against the Tibi (although amused myself greatly by pondering 'Tibi, or not Tibi?" Grin) as it really is miles too big and needs taking in. One accidental step on the hem and I'd be exposed to all.

eie I have a black leather pencil skirt if you want it as it is too big for me now, size M, is that you?

Fritzi I really like that coat although was expecting not to (waterfall) but think only on the tall, thin and flat-chested.

bunny electric blue would look so fab on you!

have had wonderful, happy day with my dc today, despite the rain. Feeling really quite smitten and soppy. Grin

LetThemEatCake · 25/08/2010 19:58

OWW not impressed with M&S!! how rude!!

FritziGreenEyes · 25/08/2010 20:08

Great outfit for tomorrow cakey! Thanks for comment re coat. I'm definitely flat chested. Tallish (5ft7) but not sure if thin enough Hmm

am sure you are, fritzi! dysmorphia reigns on this thread

LetThemEatCake · 25/08/2010 20:12

yes, that looks quite similar eie! will send you pics but can you hold until I'm back? if it's no good you could always send it back to me and I can ebay it or whatever

hf128219 · 25/08/2010 20:29

I am dreaming of, and excited, about wearing shift dresses, sweater dresses, in fact any sort of dress, opaque tights and lovely boots.

I saw the Fair Isle dress thread. I want one too!

It is pouring here.

DH is currently in this sailing race - all the yachts are fitted with electronic tracker beacons that transmit their position hourly via GPS. It is compulsive viewing on the internet! I just hope he makes it - the weather is dreadful - only another 1400 miles to go!

traceybath · 25/08/2010 20:52

Wow hf - your DH is a real adventurer!

Right off to bed with new Claudia Roden book - well new to me at least.

Zembo · 25/08/2010 20:52

MM your DD sounds so adorable Grin

Cake and eie love the capsule wardrobes and Cake am SO impressed that you've got it all in your bag with room for more! I need a magic bag like that. Oh and I think thread is only quiet due to holiday season. Well I'm definitely not losing interest. Really looking forward to all the A/W links.

I'm feeling cold so last years Brora cable cashmere socks are out already!

traceybath · 25/08/2010 21:04

Zembo - my heating is on Blush In my defence I live on the top of a hill at pretty much the highest point in the cotswolds and its very cold indeed.

I am feeling so fat and bleughh today. Although doing famous five jigsaw was fun although must confess think I enjoyed it more than H and the youngest two were more of a hindrance.

We're starting reading Treasure Island tomorrow - very excited. Also very excited when realised I'll be able to do Mallory Towers, St Clares etc with Bea.
