General comments, thoughts, anything that we fancy but NO willy waving!

Thank you Hollin, I think I'm going to try that custard one as I see so many people rave about custard flavours.

Any others you would recommend? I like fruity flavours, my favourite at the minute is sour but I've really only tried a few, I like to mix it up and when I'm having a day when I'm craving the cigs go try a new flavour.

Hello vampers who helped me over the weekend. I braved the "cool boys" vaping shop and got myself kitted out with something that doesn't need charging up every couple of hours and now I'm ready to go - Only 3 rollies yesterday and none today. Ta - daaaaaa

Ha - I'm scared of getting shinyitis too, but I got an Endura T22. I like it but it's a lot fiercer than my little Cirro thing and perhaps a little harsh even though I'm still using the same juice. I'm now trying to get me mother into trying it....she has tried before but she smokes very extra lite fags and found the vaping caught the back of her throat too much. I've heard about the custard flavours, are they mild but give you the nicotine at the same time?

Ooh that looks different! Fixed at 14W so you only have one button. You're right it will have a LOT more oomph than your current setup, which runs at about 5.7W. You might find you do better with a higher VG liquid, and possibly lower nicotine - but don't rush to lower it in the early days unless it's making you feel a bit sick.

Eliquid is made of a mixture of PG (propylene glycol) and VG (vegetable glycerine). PG can be a bit harsh, especially at higher power. It's also PG that will be catching in your mum's throat. It wears off for most people after a few days and settles into what's called 'throat hit' - a similar feeling to the smoke from a fag hitting the back of your throat. Some people do better with high, or even pure, VG liquid. Others of us like the throat hit! (but not at 14W).

It looks like a good kit in terms of simplicity, battery life and oomph. The only downside I can see is that, although loads of tanks will screw into it, you are limited to those which work well at that power setting. Not a problem in the short term - you want something that will work well for you now and keep you off the fags - which this will. It's worth going back to the shop and trying some higher VG liquids which will be less harsh.

Longer term, when you have a bit of spare cash from not buying fags and shinyitis bites, you might want to get something with variable power.

hollinhurst - I think I may well be you, because Cream Tea 2 is exactly what I'm vaping at the moment! Itscliffmas my favourite fruity flavours are currently Ziggy Starburst from Off the Record and Lost Love from Sailor Sauce. Neither are cheap juices, but they are really lovely!

Oh, and definitely beware the dreaded shinyitis - it can lead to all sorts of things....

Hi Plenty of pubes (?) It was a panic buy, I was/am on a roll and needed something fairly reliable. It is a bit strong actually and I will mess around with different juices, powers and models when I learn more. I'm happy for the moment though cos it's 2 full days without fags and I'm not suffering at all.
Oh furry mother dog, i'd best stay out of the shops - I've busted my budget already with what I've bought in the last week!

Pubes - that's an Endura T22, comes with a Prism T22 tank on the top, I got mine from Amazon, but they're widely available. The drip tip I got from somewhere else, but can't remember where!

Have just bought a new e cig to try and get me off the demon smokes. I've tried everything else and nothing has worked so the e cig is my last resort.

So I bought an ileaf mini with a k1 aspire. And finding it got so far but only bought it an hour ago

I have a few questions if anyone can help me out. I was around a 15 a day smoker (Marlboro reds ) and I've bought 1.2mg liquid in raspberry menthol and menthol.

How often do you think I'd need to use it- I'm a teacher and can't access it easily during the working day apart from break and lunch time when I can go for a quick walk. Would that keep me going do you think?

How long does the e liquid last? I have 2 bottles of 10mls- is 2 weeks realistic?

I'm enjoying the raspberry menthol right now but do you think the fruity ones become sickening?

The guy in the shop said my charge should last all day. Does that sound about right?

Oh and any tips for carrying it around safely in your handbag all day without spills would help

I'm using my vape to try stop the fags too, on day 4 now. I'm still craving nicotine and I'd say you'll know when you want a puff! I've been at work this week and taking my "fag breaks" as normal so I suppose I'm taking in slightly less nicotine in the course of a normal day. We can do this!

Hi Polter - I've been very lucky with my colleagues, I just told them I might have to disappear outside a bit more often but for less time and they were fine with that - but as it happened we were so busy I didn't nip out as much as I thought I would have to. I'd get into big trouble for stealth vaping though, it was banned on the premises about a year ago.

Polter - I'm looking forward to losing the whole ritual thing (unless I develop a new vaping ritual) I've now ordered another set up - yeah the shinyitis has kicked in, but mainly I'm a bit panicky that if I run out of gear I'll be back on the baccy. Hopefully once I'm over this horrendous pay out it should end up costing less per week than my old habit.
I don't feel any different yet but I am enjoying the smell of my clean living room this morning and my teeth didn't have that "furry" feeling when I woke up. Hurray!

Hello Kitty - to answer one of your questions - I like some fruity vapes better than others, but you'll find your tastes change as you get more used to vaping. Some juices are very sweet and sickly, but because I have more than one device (see above!) I have various flavours on the go at any given time. I swap between them all the time - and that way the flavours stay fresh. Juice consumption varies a lot depending on your device, juice strength, and frequency of use. I find my sub-ohm devices (which produce more vapour) drink juice, but my less powerful ones make it last longer - which makes sense, when you think about it! I'm not really sure how much juice I get through in a week, or a day, come to that, because I have so many on the go. Wish I could be more helpful - but if there's one piece of advice I'd give you (and others may not agree) - it's to get it fixed in your mind that you are not going to buy any more cigarettes, ever, and just get on with getting used to vaping. I dual-fuelled for a while at the beginning, and the craving for a real cig was always there. It was only when I committed to vaping exclusively that it really began to work for me. It'll be 8 weeks on Monday since I touched tobacco, and that makes me so happy! Welcome to the other side :)
