The previous Carry On thread is full, so thought I'd start the new one.

General comments, thoughts, anything that we fancy but NO willy waving!

It looks similar - I think the istick will have a bigger battery so longer life between charges
And the mini nautilus has a bigger capacity so less refilling

I'm noticing lately that I'm as jumpy about running out of juice and coils as I was about running out of smokes. I'm very rural so not near bricks and mortar and not in UK so online shopping takes forever and is expensive to deliver.
Coils are not lasting me any time at all. I have used 3 coils for the kanger protank 2 over the last week !

I'm thinking of getting into coil building and juice making. Anyone have any tips on that? The vape forums are bewildering

BeezerBubble · 11/08/2016 00:47

Easiest to go to YouTube and search for kanger protank 2 coil rebuild and take it from there. As for diy juice, same again unless you're in the EU. Thanks to EU TPD, illegal to get nicotine base for making your own juice. You can still get it but soon completely banned.

BeezerBubble · 11/08/2016 00:52

Should have added try www.fasttech.com or similar Chinese vendors for cheap gear. Takes ages but very cheap and mostly genuine unless it states "style".

Oooh thanks some good leads there :)

PlentyOfPubeGardens · 11/08/2016 15:13

I second the protank/naturevape suggestion because they're really easy to rebuild as well. They're what I learnt on and I still rebuild them quite a lot for DH's GS-H2 tanks.

is quite similar to the method I use, except my screwdriver won't fit in the coil head so I use a cocktail stick which I've sanded down to size and transfer the coil onto that in order to fit it in the head. The bit where she takes the coil off the screwdriver and says if you have a blowtorch you can compress the coil with tweezers and torch it to keep it tight - I use the gas cooker Grin

I do 8 wraps of 0.25mm kanthal (30 AWG) on a 2mm screwdriver (I think) and it comes out at about 1.8 ohms. My coils come out tighter and shorter than hers but I think are a wider diameter. It's worth experimenting and finding what works for you. As long as it's not touching the sides of the coil head and you check the resistance before use you'll be fine.

Stealth vape are good for wire and throw in free muji cotton for your wicks.

Popped into a local shop today and found a bargain bin. 4 X bottles of triphammer cream tea for a tenner!

FurryDogMother · 15/08/2016 13:04

Just sticking my nose (which now works better than it has for many years!) in to say that today marks 6 weeks smoke-free for me, and I am so happy about that. Never going back!

PlentyOfPubeGardens · 15/08/2016 21:12

Fantastic Furry Star You've cracked it! How many have you not smoked? Have you saved much or have you spent it all on Shiny Things?

hollinhurst84 · 16/08/2016 01:57

Yay well done! StarStar
I am 75 days smoke free and haven't smoked 2,270 cigs
On triphammer jam roly poly tonight

magimedi · 16/08/2016 07:29

Well done, furry & hollin.

It's a miracle, isn't it?

Thanks people! Yes, it is something of a miracle - and I think I've saved a bit this month, though shiny things and a rather self-indulgent trip to a local vape shop for juices (£92! gasp!) has eaten into my savings a bit. Next month should be better, as I now have enough juice to last me until Christmas, I think! It's all lovely though - and I have a monthly subscription to Sizzlebox to top it up with, as well :) My dentist is delighted with me!

secretfroggy · 17/08/2016 10:33

Hi all,

I'm looking at the eleaf istick that has been mentioned above (my current set up doesn't seem to be giving me much flavour :() - can someone advise which wattage I should go for?

Thank you so much!

PlentyOfPubeGardens · 17/08/2016 20:48

Well done hollinhurst that's brilliant! Star

secret get the highest you can afford unless you like small batteries. The big ones last longer between charges. I use the 50W but never turn it up past 9W. It lasts me about 4 days.

7Days · 19/08/2016 07:18

I have the 30 w and i find it great. I've had it over a year and it's at the stage where it needs to be plugged in everynight, but it's great.

I wouldn't bother with the 20 w at all

clarazabel · 20/08/2016 20:46

Been reading this thread with interest. I'm currently on my 4th cheapo vape fag - and when it packs in I don't want to go back to my usual smoking habits but vaping seriously seems so complicated - I just want something that is easy to get new parts for, fairly cheap and easily available - some of the prices make my eyes water. Where do I start with getting serious kit that isn't going to cost an arm and a leg and need a tool box to change bits and bobs? Hoping to go get some kit tomorrow but feel I might be blinded with science in the vape shop and go to the pound shop for a multi pack of rizzla instead!

I'm using a Cirro 2 from Tesco, that I know will pack in soon but I've smoked so much less in the few days I've had it that I know I want to take it seriously now. I've read on here the an eleaf one is a good bet, but doing on their website the choice is massive and I still don't really understand the bits and bobs that need changing - eleaf with Nautilus? No idea what that means and I've got a feeling when I go to the shop they'll know I'm a numpty and I'll probably spend a bomb on rubbish. Funnily enough I don't know any vapers in RL

O I will look into a Kanger Evod then. I've just not had much luck with the cheapo ones so far, in fact one of the Totally Wicked ones wasn't that cheap but never worked well and then packed in. This Cirro seems to need charging a lot and I'd like something reliable so I don't fall back into old habits - have you been vaping long Goose? Do you still have the odd ciggie?
