Why perhaps you should actually read the thread?

Fairenuff · 03/08/2014 17:50

Yep, I was called a shit and told to fuck off because I asked her if she genuinely wanted advice or was just there to rant. Turns out it was just a rant because she'd made up with her dh by the end of it.

Unfortunately, her insults got deleted but you can still get the tone from just reading her replies, if not the whole thread.

In the end we left her to it and just got on with discussing the other issues. When the thread filled up this new one was started to continue the discussion.

Then it got derailed by hats 'n' stuff.

basgetti · 03/08/2014 17:52

There was another link too which said that 'nice women don't like their stepchildren' or something similar and advised women to either get their partner to ditch his previous 'baggage' and go off together with their new 'child of promise' or to insist that no contact should take place in the father's new home and his old children should be kept away. This link was provided by Tapper so I assume she advocates it's views.

Support doesn't need to mean blindly agreeing, people are entitled to take issue with shit like that.

Have we got anything to eat besides Cake

Can we wear wigs do you think? I quite like a good wig.

It was a pleasure Perp I actually think it suits you. Grin

Personally I have no further wish to discuss Tappers thread. I do not wish for this one to be deleted as it was not started as a TAAT. I would like to discuss some of the interesting things which stemmed from it and I also like pictures of hats and kittens in hats. Smile

FlossyMoo · 03/08/2014 17:55

And wigs Arse in fact shall we push the boat out and extend it to all head gear?

Pagwatch · 03/08/2014 17:56

Its not a TAAT, it's a TAAHat.

ArsenicFaceCream · 03/08/2014 17:57

Personally I have no further wish to discuss Tappers thread.

Me neither. I feel immensely sorry for Tapper and hope she finds a way out of the hellish loop she's in, actually.

But there is nothing interesting to say beyond that.

Grin@ Pag

Pagwatch · 03/08/2014 17:58

I'm on holiday and I am having trouble with one of my eyes. DH has suggested I do a sort of jaunty 'scarf draped across the face' thing to protect one eye.
I would look like Victoria Beckham crossed with a pirate.

Agreed.

I'm starving Sad

hoobypickypicky · 03/08/2014 17:59

My friends have a barristers wig in their home, atop a life sized wooden carving of a face. The face has a cardboard David Beckham mask attached to it.

It's an interesting thought, David Beckham the barrister.

Apparently they itch, judges and barristers wigs.

Pagwatch · 03/08/2014 17:59

Actually most of his fashion advice to me includes the word 'jaunty'
That's depressing isn't it?

Not so odd, David Beckham doling out penalties.

Ive read 5 pages of the linked thread, leave and your a drunk seem to feature qyite heavily and my phone is going flat

Having someone elses teens come and live with you, 2 instant teens, especially when you have no children of your own, is sheer hell. I see some support for Tapper amongst lots of judgement
id rather jump off a cliff than go through that again and thats before everything else that happened.

Tapper I know how hard it is and how you need somewhere to vent - have a virtual hug - leaving your home and ypur marriage isnt as easy as some people seem to think it is - good luck whatever comes next - feel free to PM me if you ever feel yhe jeed althougj Im not online a lot so response may be delayed xx

Waltermittythesequel · 03/08/2014 18:05

I couldn't pull of jaunty, I don't think. I'm more boho chic!

ArsenicFaceCream · 03/08/2014 18:08

whyonearth we're not here to defend the entire content of another thread Confused

I'm glad you find venomous venting so cathartic. Clearly some people find it a little shocking.

That is why people start differnt threads, I suppose Smile

Actually it needn't be sheer hell. Lots of people do it relatively painlessly. Step-parenting experiences differ and many step families are very happy Smile

" I see some support for Tapper amongst lots of judgement"

So the 3 or 4 who are in agreement with Tapper are giving her "support". The 98% who are not in agreement with her are giving her "judgement".

Yeah. That makes a lot of sense. A perfectly fair assessment of the situation. Hmm

flossy my ss abused my child - no doubt because his mother abused him and his sisters, nothing unwarranted in my disike of them, thankfully the police and CPS agree, however until disclosure I emotionally and financially supported the scs because - as parents thats what we do isnt it - and indeed until he turned on his father and spouted a crock of shit - dh was still supporting him.

As it is him and his cyclical cycle of abuse family stole my past, my childs childhood and over 2 years of my other childs life - as yhey steuggled to get over the trauma of what happened to us all - lany step children are lovely - in fact I consider myself to be a lovely SD who adores my step dad - but some - are not.
