The refurbished SP Wine Bar is once again open, as while you don't have to drink to be a Step Parent, it helps.

Contact changed at no notice?

Disney Dad and sulky Skids?

Damned if you do and damned if you don't???

Ahhh, thats better!

Did you know that if you have Port and Lemon that counts as one of your five a day too?

MJinSparklyStockings · 06/01/2012 16:58

Can I have a cosmopolitan??

And think of tempting nibbles for me - dh says no alcohol till food.

NotaDisneyMum · 06/01/2012 17:20

I need a big drink!

Just had the rug pulled out from under my feet by DDs dad Sad

Since I was made redundant from my F/T job in March, DD has been coming to me every day after school even on the weeks she spends at her dads. He has been picking her up from me when he finished work.

I got a letter from his solicitor today saying that as of Monday, that's not going to happen anymore - he's going to pick her up from school on his weeksSad

I insisted on seeing DD myself this afternoon to explain that I didn't know when I kissed her goodbye this morning and said 'see you monday' Sad

Yes, It's fantastic that DD will get more time with her dad - but I'll miss her Sad

therantingBOM · 06/01/2012 17:38

Oh NADM, I'm so sorry. Like it's not hard enough to deal with the step situations hey!

I wish you could have heard it in person, a solicitors letter seems so flippin cold and formal. Good on you insisting on seeing her to explain. At the risk of sounding like a disney mum (bo boom!) "Would somebody think of the children!!!!"

glasscompletelybroken · 06/01/2012 20:32

I am having a lovely glass of red which is at least 1 of my 5 a day. Am already light-headed as have had my hair cut - scarey and different!

Different good I think...

MorningHasBroken · 06/01/2012 20:57

Oh NADM, what a pain in the arse he sounds... Serious cutting off nose to spite his face I reckon - he'd rather have the hassle of leaving work early just so you don't get to have an extra hour a day with her?!

I could really do with a serious drink tonight. Don't know why but everyone and everything is getting on my nerves - Brew instead though. Roll on June... Wine Wine Wine!

BarfAndHeave · 06/01/2012 21:05

NADM - couldn't he just have told you instead of sending a letter?

What an arse.

MJinSparklyStockings · 06/01/2012 21:08

A solicitors letter is harsh - he could have just told you.

Knob.

Here I am trying a new drink gin, pink grapefruit and tonic

Want a try.

EverybodyKnows · 06/01/2012 21:12

Me please . Grin

MJinSparklyStockings · 06/01/2012 21:37

Here it's lovely :)

NotaDisneyMum · 06/01/2012 23:07

half a bottle of wine and a small port later, I feel a bit better Wine

MJinSparklyStockings · 06/01/2012 23:12

I'm running out of decent booze - I may have to booze run tomorrow

BarfAndHeave · 08/01/2012 07:53

Good morning evil steps. I've been up for hours with my evil children.

Anyhow I need to fill in some forms for ds which have a section for "family and significant adults that may or may not live with the child"

DH doesn't think I should include DSD.

I can't help thinking WTAF?!? How is his half sister a) not family and b) not significant???

I can't believe that after 10 sodding years he still has her compartmentalised off like that. It's like his announcement that he'll (and by default, we'll) be supporting her for another 5 years as she's decided to do her MA and PhD. Don't get me wrong, I'm exceptionally proud of her, but it's hard to be enthused when you are expected to bend and adapt and provide at every turn, but not allowed to consider her part of MY family, but part of HIS even though it's the same fucking thing Angry

Sorry for the rant, but my tits are well and truly got on.

MJinSparklyStockings · 08/01/2012 09:02

Knob you are ok to provide for her and have his children but not to think of her as your family

EverybodyKnows · 08/01/2012 09:03

I would put her on the form.

What planet is he on? FFS

NotaDisneyMum · 08/01/2012 15:23

BARF WTF? They are blood relatives! What does he expect from you?

Its not nice to think of but if anything should ever happen to you and DH, DSD would be considered favourably and even expected to be a potential guardian for DS because of their shared parentage. How can she not be a 'significant adult' in his life?

Too early for gin, but I'd be tempted in your place!

EverybodyKnows · 13/01/2012 15:41

NotaDisneyMum · 13/01/2012 17:53

Drink, did someone mention drink? Wine

I love my 39 year old series 3 landy, really I do, but I must stop expecting him to start when I really need him to!

nenevomito · 13/01/2012 18:36

Gimmie a drink and make it a large one. I'm on day three of a diet and dear god do I want to line up a platoon of cute fluffy animals and punch the crap out of the lot of them!!

brdgrl · 13/01/2012 18:45

Its not nice to think of but if anything should ever happen to you and DH, DSD would be considered favourably and even expected to be a potential guardian for DS because of their shared parentage.

oh god, that means that if anything god forbid should happen to me and DH, DSD would be a potential guardian for DD, doesn't it? Now I need a drink.

EverybodyKnows · 13/01/2012 19:47

Here have some Wine
