The refurbished SP Wine Bar is once again open, as while you don't have to drink to be a Step Parent, it helps.

Contact changed at no notice?

Disney Dad and sulky Skids?

Damned if you do and damned if you don't???

Ahhh, thats better!

I know what you mean MJ, although I was miserable when I was part of a conventional family - I'll go and put more mulled wine on Wink

BarfTheHeraldAngelsHeave · 24/12/2011 16:07

In the space of one morning DS has managed to lose all but 1 of the marbles out of hungry hippo. At least it will be a short game now I suppose.

ah I am sorry for being a misery DH has been in work today, he has brought a burst of happiness (and 2 pints of GnT) home.

It suddenly seems OK :).

MJ

MJinSparklyStockings · 24/12/2011 17:08

BoM they don't mind not seeing them and they love seeing them, what upsets ds is when they pop in for long enough to excite them but not long enough.

DD is fine but DS cries.

Ah well such is the life of a blended family. .

Am quite mellow now pints of gin dh has hat effect on me.

Just starting operation Christmas Jamas :)

NotaDisneyMum · 24/12/2011 17:10

Mmm, I'm pleasantly tiddly from supping mulled wine all afternoon Wine while wrapping presents and listening to Christmas songs - and I've just found a recipe for vodka and tonic fish and chips (I'm going to use gin, though), which seems like a fabulous recipe to try this evening - I bought-out the fishmongers as they were selling everything off at half price earlier!

I'm going to make the most of the next couple of days - once DSS arrives on 27th, I'm going to feel like an unwelcome guest in my own home Sad No matter; I've got loads of work I can do, and I'm going to leave DP to deal with meals and entertainment Xmas Wink

BarfTheHeraldAngelsHeave · 24/12/2011 18:13

well I have my first drink of many the evening in my hand. The house is tidy, the children are overexcited and DS is bouncing off the walls.

All I have to do now is drink my weight in gin enjoy a tipple or two and wait for Christmas to arrive with Bells on.

Xmas Grin

NotaDisneyMum · 25/12/2011 14:06

morning Afternoon - merry Christmas!

Just made it downstairs in my jammies for smoked salmon & cream cheese brunch Wink

MJinSparklyStockings · 25/12/2011 19:32

Well we had a lovely day - dss was over all morning and dad sent a million face book messages.

We and the children really enjoyed ourselves.

Best Christmas present was a lovely text from dss that was so touching it made ms cry (in the nicest way).

Watched the Gruffalos child and now about to plough into the next bottle of wine.

Have a lovely evening all.

BarfTheHeraldAngelsHeave · 25/12/2011 21:03

We've had a brill Christmas Day as well. Only downside was the crappy Fireman Sam firestation which had most of the bits missing. GRRRR I bought it in November and Can I find the receipt? Can I heck! Cross cross cross.

MJinSparklyStockings · 26/12/2011 17:28

We have all of the DCs and DSCs for the night, we are just awaiting the arrival of the oldest - apparently party at ours holds some allure after all

BarfTheHeraldAngelsHeave · 26/12/2011 19:37

The oldest DSC? Xmas Shock

OP posts:
MJinSparklyStockings · 26/12/2011 20:46

Gosh No!

I always figure I have 5 (dh has 6).

DH is beaming at having 5 DCs together - this is his Christma day - he doesn't need pressies. :)

MJinSparklyStockings · 26/12/2011 20:50

It's so Lovely - we are so happy :)

NotaDisneyMum · 27/12/2011 14:18

Just popped in for a sneaky after lunch drink!
DP collected DSS from his mums this morning and we did 'Santa presents' (we're doing tree presents when DD gets here on Friday)
DSS did engage with me more than we expected; I stayed in the background and DP encouraged DSS to show me things - but DSS is still so anxious Sad
He has developed several nervous-tick like movements and every so often (usually after he's engaged in conversation with me) a look of fear comes across his face and he clams upSad

So pleased he's seeing a counsellor next week Smile
