Happy New Year.

We start with the first all teams season launch on 18 February. Ferrari reveal their 2025 car the day after.

Pre season testing will take place on 26 to 28 February in Bahrain. Australia will host the opening race on Sunday March 16th.

Hi, I'll join you this year. My interest in F1 has been a slow burn as DH has watched it for nearly two decades (so I've been an onlooker) but last season I finally got into it!
I'm wondering when the first official photo of Lewis in red is going to be published!

MercedesLeftWheelNut · 01/01/2025 07:23

Just checking in for the new season thread. Thanks for setting it up.

Eyesopenwideawake · 01/01/2025 09:57

Watched the classic Belgium race of 1998 over Christmas - the one when Schumacher went into the back of Coulthard, they both limped back to the pits and Michael went storming up the pit lane to try and punch David.

Ah. The good old days!!

GrouchyKiwi · 01/01/2025 10:24

Thank you for the new thread. Should be an interesting season.

Happy New Year, everyone.

StarCourt · 01/01/2025 11:27

Happy Mew Year and thanks for the thread

Wakemeuuuup · 01/01/2025 11:29

Happy New Year. Thanks for the new thread @Brazilianadventure

Should be a good season. I wonder how long it'll take me to get used to all the new drivers and existing drivers who have changed teams

I was there! Grin

Thanks for the thread OP, joining under a new name.

First time in a long time I've no idea who will be champion at the end of the year, enjoying that.

Rowgtfc72 · 01/01/2025 11:33

Thanks for the new thread.
Happy new year everyone.
Mclaren fan here so hoping for another good season. Looking forward to seeing how Williams do, think they're one to watch for moving up the ranks.

14yo me is absolutely disgusted with 40yo me cheering on McLaren and Williams. 😂

Rowgtfc72 · 01/01/2025 11:49

@BarbaraHoward oh dear!😁
I've always been a Mclaren girl at heart but got into Williams in the 90s.
I have an absolute dislike of ferrari, which I can only put down to not liking red cars. Lame I know!

Sulusu · 01/01/2025 11:52

Happy New Year, and thanks for the new thread!

Michael Schumacher is my one true love, so you can imagine how teenage me felt about McLaren and Williams. Grin Find myself cheering for them now though.

Only feel anxious re Ferrari and the next few years. I've been around the block too many times to dare hope.

Your messages are all lovely.

I have a very weird hierarchy of support. I think having seen drivers and teams come and go I have affiliations that go back a long way.

At this point it’s anyone but Max and RB. I have nothing against Max as off track he seems to be a decent person. For me he is not a clean racer. RB however are toxic.

I’m really looking forward to Lewis in Ferrari Red and all the rookies.

Looking forward to next season. I feel the same as you @Brazilianadventure re RB. So anyone but them please. Here’s to a good season please!

Rowgtfc72 · 01/01/2025 13:23

@BarbaraHoward Nigel Mansell was my hero. Visited the Silverstone museum last year and had my picture taken with his red 5 car. Gave me goosebumps. I drew that car on all my school exercise books!

ListenLinda · 01/01/2025 13:39

Checking in.
massive LH fans in this house, so will be such a weird feeling to be looking for him in Red.
Hope it’s a good season!

mrstea301 · 01/01/2025 13:56

Happy new year everyone, was a lurker on the last thread! Really looking forward to the new season - it's much more interesting to watch when a single team doesn't have a stranglehold on the rest of the paddock!

Been reading Jennie Gow's book (Christmas present!) and really enjoying it!

Hoping to get to an F1 race at some point but can't decide where to go! My dad took himself to Singapore in 2023 for a big birthday and absolutely loved it, but I reckon that'll be a bit out of budget lol!

ShadowsOfTheDays · 01/01/2025 22:19

Happy New Year guys!

I feel like I'll need to do some revision before the start of the season - who drives for who now, and what the hell are all the teams called?! Feels like a lot of changes happening all at once.

Tilda77 · 02/01/2025 08:20

Happy New Year! Thanks for the new thread@Brazilianadventure
I'm looking forward to the new season. It seems to come round quickly once the new year is here!

PeeetStop · 02/01/2025 08:49

I can’t wait for the new season, feels like anything could happen!

I’m a McLaren supporter but also have a soft spot for Williams so looking forward to seeing Carlos drive for them. We’re a mixed bag in our house and all support different teams which has led to me slightly supporting all of my dc’s teams/favourite drivers.

@mrstea301 I can highly recommend Barcelona for a race, fantastic track visibility from pretty much anywhere and a brilliant atmosphere.

Eyesopenwideawake · 06/01/2025 13:02

Spa is brilliant but you need to be relatively fit (very hilly circuit) and it can be very cold even in August. But there's Belgium beer and frites with mayonnaise. Yum.

Brazilianadventure · 06/01/2025 13:53

I liked Monza, you can stay in Milan or Como and get the train. They run buses from the station to near to the circuit (at a cost). The circuit is in a Royal Park so a pretty setting.

I went to spa in 2022, it was absolutely freezing. Plus the experience has really been diminished over the years for general admission, large sections are not accessible so you can't go all the way round it. I felt like they just wanted to squeeze as much cash out of you as possible, like there was only one place to refill waterbottles right by the entrance. The open urinals for men were DISGUSTING and it was clear that they didn't care that they were disgusting for women. I saw a guy just walk off from one with his dick out. I would never go again. Silverstone is great but just ridiculously priced. It's a shame everywhere is so expensive to go now.

LookItsMeAgain · 07/01/2025 11:22

Does anyone know if the big launch event that is supposed to be happening soonish will be televised?

Rowgtfc72 · 07/01/2025 16:51

@LookitsMeAgain I've heard it will be.
