Not a good couple of days for us.

City deserved to win I think. We were better in the second half but just couldn't score from open play.

Snowypeaks · 06/02/2025 21:48

Yes, we can't really argue with that, unfortunately.

MustTryHarderAndHarder · 09/02/2025 17:06

Stina Blackstenius was great on the wing today.

DuncinToffee · 09/02/2025 17:09

We just can't compete with Chelsea and the money they can spend.

Great goal from Sara Holmgaard, Chelsea's penalty should have been a free kick though.

Ah well

Bad luck, Duncin'
We got quite excited when you scored first!

Stina Blackstenius was great on the wing today.

She was, wasn't she?

Interesting that RS has tried both strikers as wingers/wide forwards and it's been very promising, IMO. Russo's strengths are receiving the ball under pressure, her hold-up play and passing. Stina's strengths are her ridiculous pace, and her movement - she's always in a position to score. And despite the misses, she has a great goalscoring instinct. So it works for the team. It works when Russo is on the wing as well. Russo can be the target woman, receive the long pass and sweep the ball on to Stina running beyond her. I like it when they play together.

Yes, I like them playing together, but I don't think that Russo is great on the wing. She is much better up front.

She is better for now, but I think in time she could be great in the wide forward position as well.

I agree with Bompastor.
Considering what male footballers get away with, I am finding the sanctimonious tone of some of the criticism hard to stomach.
I may be biased but I believed Kerr's account and even if not, apologies to the copper and the taxi driver and defraying the cost of repairing the damage should have been enough. Can't understand why it got to court. Nobody was hurt. Children weren't involved, I don't believe for one minute the police officer felt threatened, intimidated or frightened. Ridiculous. I would be much more sympathetic to the taxi driver suing SK, but not this stupid criminal prosecution.

Sam Kerr: Chelsea manager Sonia Bompastor says striker's apology 'enough'

Chelsea boss Sonia Bompastor says Sam Kerr's apology "is enough" and that the club will not be taking any further action following the player's court case.

Bittersweet day for us today- tickets in a box at Emirates for AWFC v Spurs, but only because our Junior Gunner daughter’s ‘obituary’ is in the programme. Haven’t seen it yet so hope we have the right date. Have never been to Emirates without her. Check the programme if you are going too.

Oh, I am so sorry, @Oxonc3.

I did get a matchday programme which I haven't looked at yet, so I will have a read of your daughter's obituary.

Rubiales found guilty of sexual assault! I'm stunned. I was absolutely sure he'd weasel out of it somehow. Well done to Hermoso and the other people who gave evidence, including Laia Codina of Arsenal.

Huh? Hermoso intends to appeal. I thought I'd misread. What on earth is going on? Maybe she thinks the sentence too lenient, or she's appealing the verdict on the coercion charge. Perhaps you can do that as a victim in the Spanish legal system.

DuncinToffee · 21/02/2025 17:35

From Emma Sanders

The Court of Arbitration for Sport has dismissed Luis Rubiales' appeal against FIFA on his 3-year suspension from any football related activity. The CAS Panel ruled that the sanction imposed is reasonable and proportional.

Not sure why Serena left it so late to make changes when it was obvious that we were struggling.

We really missed Lauren Hemp.

Yes, I agree.

Is this a good time to mention that I would love Arsenal Women to sign Nazareth? 😁 Pipe dream, of course, but that's what we desperately need - a player who could win a game on her own. That extra level higher.

Michelle Agyemang did well for the the U23s (scored both our goals) on Thursday, as did Katie Reid. We lost narrowly to Germany who look ominously skilful.

Yes, we were lucky that Nazareth didn't start.

Great news about Michelle and Katie. I didn't realise it was on. Was it on You Tube?
