Aurora Galli has suffered an ACL injury, big loss in our midfield.

So the bad luck continues... So sorry to hear about that.

MustTryHarderAndHarder · 26/09/2024 21:51

Sorry about Galli.

So relieved we got through. What a difference from last week. Walti's goal was amazing.

Snowypeaks · 26/09/2024 21:54

Wälti's overall performance was just wonderful. Phew! Missing out for another year would have been a disaster!

Snowypeaks · 26/09/2024 21:54

And well done to Man City.

MustTryHarderAndHarder · 29/09/2024 16:55

Did anyone else lose the Arsenal stream at around 84 mins?

Snowypeaks · 29/09/2024 17:06

Yes. The frozen screen was about as exciting as the match, but we saw it out and won 1-0. Daphne van Domselaar was terrific.

DuncinToffee · 29/09/2024 17:07

Narrow defeat against Man U, it looks like a serious injury for Inma Gabarro.

Yes she was.

Leicester were really good.

Oh no, it never rains.

MustTryHarderAndHarder · 01/10/2024 12:36

Really pleased that Katie Reid has signed a professional contract with us.

Confirmed as an ACL injury.

That is two in two matches, it pours indeed.

Commiserations to Everton and Gabbaro.

It's now got to the stage that when I see a photo of a woman footballer on the BBC Sport football site, I go, oh god, please not another ACL...

I'm with Jonas Eidevall on this. WSL scheduling should be supporting the European campaigns of English clubs. Of course UEFA can't accommodate special requests from us, there are several other countries involved.
Scheduling globally has to be reassessed from a player welfare perspective, but this is something that the WSL could have sorted out on its own. We already have Friday matches, so that's not an excuse.

Jonas Eidevall: Arsenal boss criticises 'amateurish behaviour' over fixture schedule

Arsenal boss Jonas Eidevall criticises the "amateurish behaviour" in handling fixture scheduling as a WSL game is postponed at a week's notice.

That is a very good point for us on the road, long time coming.

Yes, you played well and could have won.

We have such a good team on paper, but sometimes we just can't find the back of the net.

Let's see what happens on Wednesday against Bayern Munich.

DuncinToffee · 06/10/2024 17:59

This was the first time this season I could watch the game live on YouTube and I thought the commentator was going to curse it with his remarks of causing an upset and going on about our motto 🤣

Yes, I was tempted to turn him off!

I like him as a commentator generally but find him very irritating when he keeps saying Maanum's full name.

DuncinToffee · 08/10/2024 20:37

Liverpool's Lundgaard is out with an ACL, that's one for every match week this season.

MustTryHarderAndHarder · 09/10/2024 20:57

Jonas out, I think.

There is something seriously wrong. BM looked so competent compared to us.

Why didn't he start Russo?

Snowypeaks · 09/10/2024 21:04

He didn't start Russo because he was expecting to spring counterattacks where her pace would be helpful.

I just don't know what's up. We were good in the first half, at least. But we so often look as if we are performing to a script in a foreign language that we don't quite get.
Anyway, something is very wrong.

On the bbc HYS, people are saying that he has lost the dressing room because of the way he treated Viv?

Well, it's probably just gossip but it's plausible. Beth doesn't look happy, either. I think it could be that the Viv issue was the last straw - sidelining her first. He stuck Nobbs and Iwabuchi on the bench, for a couple of seasons in Jordan's case. The fans didn't like it and it may be that some of the players felt the same, Jordan was a great character and well loved by her teammates. Plus there was the Stina loan debacle from two seasons ago...
On the other hand, I have also heard Viv's departure described as "creative differences" - a mutual recognition that the relationship isn't working. So who knows?

DuncinToffee · 10/10/2024 10:36

Ah sorry Gunners, tough one to take.

Man City did well, first time that Barcelona didn't score.

Sadly another big injury for us, no acl but Elise Stenevik will be out until Christmas with a tendon injury.
