Starting a thread as it is only weeks away.

The Welsh cyclist who I saw win a medal at the 2022 Commonwealth Games and the raising of the Welsh flag will be there- Emma Finucaine, one of the fastest women in the world on a cycle.

Wow great dive

DuncinToffee · 02/08/2024 11:02

Bronze for GB!

Sulusu · 02/08/2024 11:04

The last three dives were all incredible!

EasternStandard · 02/08/2024 11:05

They really were

Well done China and Mexico too

burblish · 02/08/2024 11:34

Gold, silver and bronze for GB - a good morning's work, eh! Superb gold by Imogen Grant and Emily Craig; gutting for the men's lightweight sculls pair to lose out on gold, but the way the Croat pair came back from being clear water down was quite astonishing.

WheresSummer99 · 02/08/2024 11:38

The rowing was brilliant and those Croatian men were outstanding and the women just amazing. Why is that category being withdrawn from the Olympics?

Was wondering that myself?

EasternStandard · 02/08/2024 11:46

What are people watching today?

I need to do stuff and don’t want to miss the really good ones

Sulusu · 02/08/2024 12:13

I'm watching the women's trampolining final now, and keeping an eye on the sailing.

Supergirl1958 · 02/08/2024 12:21

@EasternStandard athletics and the bmx this evening I think

Sulusu · 02/08/2024 12:27

I'm very glad of the added graphics for the sailing as I wouldn't have a clue what was going on without it.

Sulusu · 02/08/2024 13:18

Bryony Page fantastic routine guaranteed a medal now.

Sulusu · 02/08/2024 13:20

Gold for Bryony amazing 😍

EasternStandard · 02/08/2024 13:20

Oh just got back for the trampoline

Well done Bryony Page

I bloody love the emotion with the Olympics, they are so skilled and great to watch

Gold!!

EasternStandard · 02/08/2024 13:23

Oh man it made me cry so much atmosphere and emotion

MrsAvocet · 02/08/2024 13:24

Great result for Bryony but I did feel sad for the Chinese gymnast going out like that.

mumonthehill · 02/08/2024 13:40

The light weight rowing is going and beach sprints are replacing it. They are good to watch.

Supergirl1958 · 02/08/2024 14:08

listened to bryony page I was just dropping my MIL off! Excellent gold!

mrswhiplington · 02/08/2024 14:14

Well done Bryony Page. So happy for her 💓

murasaki · 02/08/2024 14:29

She was brilliant. I also loved the fact that her Biology BSc dissertation was about sonar and dinosaurs. She's living every kid's dream.

EasternStandard · 02/08/2024 14:42

Gold for jumping

Well done!

Sulusu · 02/08/2024 14:43

Just back from a doctors appointment to see another gold in the show jumping! What a great day for Team GB.

Supergirl1958 · 02/08/2024 15:47

Yeah I watched that, and every single one of them had some part in the gold in London, two of them as participants and one who is the son of a participant! Great stuff!

burblish · 02/08/2024 17:54

Watching Bryony Page and Teddy Riner's (French superstar judoka) faces upon winning their respective golds, and listening to their interviews, was a treat - how absolutely delightful they both are! (I also loved Cassandre Beaugrand's BBC interview when she won the triathlon.) My favourite story so far today, though, is Harry Charles winning team show-jumping gold alongside the two men who won the same event in 2012 alongside Harry's dad.

Sulusu · 02/08/2024 18:11

So nice to see Michael Johnson back in the BBC studio, every year I worry one of the US networks will poach him. Such an incredible athlete and a great pundit.
