The Welsh cyclist who I saw win a medal at the 2022 Commonwealth Games and the raising of the Welsh flag will be there- Emma Finucaine, one of the fastest women in the world on a cycle.

Listened to the end of the final as I was in the bath but biles is immense.

As an aside, I love Louis Smith’s enthusiasm and his commentary is great! Has anyone else heard him?

Regarding commentators, missing Steve Redgrave this year. He’s been Mr Top-dog Olympian for years, and yet didn’t get the call-up this year, although I have enjoyed the other rowing presenters.

The swimming commentators are the best. Their knowledge, enthusiasm etc. Love the dresses that Rebecca A is wearing, and how she’s done her hair.

Well done Ben Proud.

I was pleasantly surprised that the BBC did that piece on the boxing.

I love Murray and will catch up on that tribute later but wanted to watch the live events so have moved back to discovery.

Ooh interesting to see the men’s decathlon starts tomorrow! Used to have an obsession with Roman Sebrle 🤩 and oddly dean macey! But those were my teenage hormones and now I’m showing my age! Also had a huge teenage crush on Ian Thorpe and kept a diary where I’d obsess over him and even the fact that he shared a birthday with a relative of mine 😂😂 looking back at that now is a tad embarrassing 😳.
