I can't remember the last time a race was this interesting, with so many changes of the lead and throughout the top six!

Lostworlds · 07/07/2024 15:57

Such a shame for George!

burblish · 07/07/2024 15:58

Oh damn, such hard luck for Russell

LookItsMeAgain · 07/07/2024 16:06

I'm gutted for George. He was doing such a wonderful job managing to keep the rest of the drivers behind him for so long.
I'd love to see Norris - Hamilton - Piastri/Sainz for the final 3 to this race.

I'll say one thing - the British GP is never boring!

My nerves are shredded

At this stage (Lap 41) how many different race leaders have we had this race and how many weren't Max?

😆

LookItsMeAgain · 07/07/2024 16:12

Also want to add that I thought Hannah Waddingham was simply stunning singing the national anthem. Her dress was elegant and she took a long deep breath before belting it out. Much much better than Damian Lewis last year.

My nerves are shredded

Mine too. I so want Lewis to win and can hardly bear to watch.

Been shouting at the tv all race, which I haven't done for a long time!

Brazilianadventure · 07/07/2024 16:16

Shut up David Croft with his stats.

Come on, Lewis, hold on!!

mydogisthebest · 07/07/2024 16:23

I feel sick now. Will be willing Lewis round the last lap and cheering at the top of my lungs

burblish · 07/07/2024 16:25

YEEEEEEEEEEESSSSSSSS! I think this is one of my all-time favourite Hamilton wins ever! LEGEND! 🏅🍾🏆

Brazilianadventure · 07/07/2024 16:27

What a great race - yes Lewis!!

mydogisthebest · 07/07/2024 16:27

I am so happy. Stood and cheered him over the line. My neighbours must think I am mad

LookItsMeAgain · 07/07/2024 16:29

And he gets Driver of the Day!!!

Excellent work there Lewis. I think Bono was getting a smidge emotional there on the radio to him.

So well deserved. Such a pity that they didn't put Mediums on Lando's car as he really could have pinched 2nd from Max if he had been on the mediums.

LookItsMeAgain · 07/07/2024 16:36

Aw that hug from his dad...😍

GrouchyKiwi · 07/07/2024 16:45

That was a fantastic race. So pleased for Lewis. Shame for George. Poor old Oscar.

Max did well to hang in for second (credit where it is due).

Bloody love Silverstone.

LookItsMeAgain · 07/07/2024 16:51

Love that Bono got to go up to the podium to celebrate with Lewis. That partnership is something else! I don't know how Lewis will do when he does move to Ferrari without Pete Bonnington (I don't think he's moving with him when he leaves).

2 and a half years without a Lewis Hamilton win. Wow! He really had to dig deep during that time to even have the will power not to jack it all in and retire but to keep going because he just must have known way deep down that he could still win and win he just did!

burblish · 07/07/2024 16:55

@LookItsMeAgain I know, it's such an amazing relationship they have, and them clearly both in tears on the radio was genuinely so touching. Also agreed that Lewis' willpower and resilience is extraordinary. 199 career podium finishes so far - hopefully not long at all for no.200!

Brazilianadventure · 07/07/2024 17:03

For all the posters actually at Silverstone, you might be a bit soggy round the edges but what a race to see live.

billysboy · 07/07/2024 17:05

well done Lou Lou , bad luck for George

WinkyTinky · 07/07/2024 17:13

Oh man, I MUST get tickets for Silverstone next year. I always forget until it's too late. What a great race. And Naomi looks lovely as ever 😍

Bono isn't allowed to go with him sadly 😔

Rowgtfc72 · 07/07/2024 17:25

Not a Lewis fan but that win was so well deserved. And at Silverstone. And with Bono. A lesser driver would have jacked it all in by now. Well done Lewis!
Mclaren threw that one away. I am a Lando fan and I appreciate he was very disappointed but he looked like a sulky boy.
What a race though!
