Extension of broadcasting deal for WSL for next season. Very happy about this because BBCiPlayer is less shonky than theFAplayer. Although I'm grateful for its almost comprehensive coverage, the commentating on the BBC is much better.

Emma Hayes is doubling down on the hoo-ha with Jonas Eidevall at the Conti Cup. I am actually really angry with her. She must know that she is, if not lying, then playing fast and loose with the facts. Her continued insistence that JE displayed "male aggression" is troubling.
Women report male violence or aggressive behaviour to the police or other authorities and frequently, they are disbelieved, or the behaviour minimised because it is assumed they are lying or exaggerating. And then weeks, months later, the woman ends up dead, or in hospital or in a domestic violence shelter. Emma Hayes stands up for women, but she is letting abused women down by labelling this "male aggression". This is another example some police officer can use to confirm his bias against believing women.

I don't say that it wasn't male aggression because nobody was hurt, I say that because he was not, as far as anyone can tell, being aggressive to the player. Jonas shouted at the official for letting Erin Cuthbert use an additional ball for the throw-in. Erin Cuthbert took the throw-in, then approached and shouted at JE before going back onto the pitch. On his own account, he made a sarcastic remark back. He made no move towards Erin Cuthbert or Emma Hayes. It was no big deal.

Hayes' accusation exploits a weak point for JE. His intimidation of Martha Thomas a couple of seasons ago was not acceptable - bad challenge notwithstanding - and he deserved the criticism he got for that. This is nothing like that and Hayes should not be trying to link the two. Much like Gareth Taylor with his fatuous and unevidenced claim that JE was intimidating a female official, she is just trying to get one over on a rival manager but in an underhand way.

I agree with everything you have just said.

I can't believe EH is doubling down as no-one supported her after it happened. Her remark about not meeting aggression with aggression is so embarrassing.

I am really pleased that she is leaving the WSL.

Fortunately for Jonas, everyone was on his side this time.

And it really pains me to take the side of a man against a woman when "aggression" is alleged but you have to tell the truth!

She's revealed herself not as a brave warrior in the fight for women's equality, but as a graceless churl. She's a fraud. Can't wait to see the back of her now.

It will be a better final with Spurs and Man United, I have to say. It will mean so much to them and they are more closely matched.

I shall be rooting for Man United Women as I really like some of their players. Spurs have Grace Clinton, whom I admire a lot, but even that cannot make up for the fact that they are Spurs.

Grace Clinton is ineligible for the cup final now due to MU being her parent club.

I did know that - it's not so much about GC actually playing this game as whether I'm prepared to support the club she currently plays for, iyswim.
