Football fans join in to share the joy, the heartache and VAR frustration ⚽

The thing about football - the important thing about football - is that it is not just about football.

Sky seems to be in meltdown over the Klopp news Grin

All of his senior coaching staff (Pep Lijnders, Peter Krawietz and Vitor Matos) are also going to leave. There was always a possibility that Pep Lijnders would succeed Klopp if he had left in 2026 (ie assuming he didn't renew his current contract which runs till then), so that's another very sad loss. I totally understand, though: a new manager will want their own staff, and these guys are intrinsically and indelibly Klopp's men. I now get how Man U fans felt when Fergie called time and I'm praying that post-Klopp Liverpool won't be like post-Fergie Man U.

He also says that Liverpool is the only Premier League club for him forever - he will never manage another team in England/the Prem.

I remember Mourinho saying something similar...

burblish · 26/01/2024 11:28

Sorry all, I know I'm posting like a madwoman! This has got to be the biggest story of the whole Prem season, though, whether you're a fan of Klopp/Liverpool or not. 😭

Except I believe it when Klopp says it and I think every Liverpool supporter will, too. It's how he has always come across as a person, y'know?

DuncinToffee · 26/01/2024 11:30

No this isn't the biggest story of the whole Prem season by a long shot.

Sorry burblish, I am sure it's a shock but it was going to happen at some point.

No, sorry, you're right - that's my shock (and bias as a Liverpool fan!) talking.

I actually agree. He's a much better person than Mourinho.

DuncinToffee · 26/01/2024 11:41

It's ok burblish, I am not making fun at you, just the reaction from Sky.

It will be weird without Klopp.

Toon toon black and white army

Unforgettablefire · 14/12/2025 13:10

Anyone watching this today? And dare I ask what side of the water you’re on? 🫣 the build up to this is huge.

Join us on the new thread, We have at least 1 Newcastle supporter.

I have no skin in the game, would be fun to see Pickford's black cats win but a toon win would be better for my FPL
