After 15 years of marriage he has finally let me have a go.

Every so often the wax builds up. Normally it gets bad enough for him to be practically deaf in one ear - and only then will he finally use the olive oil and then see the nurse 10 days later for syringing. He has never let me accompany him to the nurse .

This time....he let me not only look....but.....help.....

It was amazing.

We got a special syringe-y thing from Amazon. Olive oil for a few days and then I set to it.

He is totally grossed out by the whole thing.

He allowed me to take photos of the results.

He knows I want to share it with my fellow sporners.

He thinks we are all utterly grim.

Hellloooooo! So, we are about 6-7 months on and yes! DH needed clearing again!

Actually @Candleglow7475, @QueenBeex & @DameDiazepamTheDramaQueen is was about a month ago that he started to grumble a bit about his right ear. Took me a week or so to dig out the olive oil and lovingly place it on his pillow so he could not forget

So he did a bit of oil....bit of grumbling...bit of oil....I tried a bit with the magic-syringe-of-earwax-removing-delight...nothing. Nada.

I could see the motherlode in there. It just wasn't shifting.

Sigh...

And then we went away this weekend. Went swimming with the DC (Lots of big slidey/flumey things = lots of water in ears).

Saturday night DH says "Twenty, have you got one of those cotton bud things - my ear is driving me nuuts."

I very selflessly pass him some. I was twitching with a mixture of excitement and horror. What if he fished it out? How amazing but HOW UNFAIR! It is my job ffs!

He sat and had the most pathetic swipe around his ear. A bit of goop on the tip. And then....

He woosed out.

He fucking woosed out. "I don't want to risk jamming it in."

Such an anticlimax. Total let down. My anticipation deflated like a popped balloon....

And then "Will you have a go with the syringe when we get home please Twenty?"

Fuck yes! Of course I did not show my excitement (well maybe a bit cos he did mutter "weirdo" under his breath.

I tell you fellow sporners, Sunday and today have draggggeeeddd.....drraaggeeed I tell you. Could. Not. Wait. To. Get. Home.

And so, just have been upstairs tokiss the children goodnight and I refused to let hime downstairs until he came and let me attack loving tend his blocked ears.]

And, dear Sporners, it took some syringing action.

And some cotton bud swiping.

And syringing.

A few little bits in my trusty bertolli tub (yes, the original is still in action).

The odd lump being washed to the edge of his ear needing wiping up.

A peer down the ear with the aid of a torch.

I could see the motherlode.

Gradually it was being pushed towards the entrance. But it was in too precarious a position to risk touching it with a cotton bud...I could just tell it would push it back in....which may scare DH like a frightened deer.

So....I, for the sake of us all, continued with the syringe.

And then, finally, as I withdrew the syringe, there it was. Sitting daintily just on the edge....the motherlode.

Trying to pretend I hadn't just muttered "Yes!" under my breath I wiped it up with a cotton bud.

A few final syringes and wipes (just in case, you know) and we were done.

Aaah well done DH of twenty you are well & truly taking one for the team here.... look at the lovely cob of wax. Why doesn’t my DH love me enough to grow one of these 😜???
