After 15 years of marriage he has finally let me have a go.

Every so often the wax builds up. Normally it gets bad enough for him to be practically deaf in one ear - and only then will he finally use the olive oil and then see the nurse 10 days later for syringing. He has never let me accompany him to the nurse .

This time....he let me not only look....but.....help.....

It was amazing.

We got a special syringe-y thing from Amazon. Olive oil for a few days and then I set to it.

He is totally grossed out by the whole thing.

He allowed me to take photos of the results.

He knows I want to share it with my fellow sporners.

He thinks we are all utterly grim. Grin

Ear! I said ear!

Chippednailvarnishing · 24/12/2016 14:22

You need one of those attachments that can film inside your ear for the next one...

dementedma · 24/12/2016 14:25

Ooooh, lovely!

TwentyChews · 03/11/2017 14:28

I am back!!

My lovely, wonderful husband has delivered the motherload again. Yep, 10 months on and it has happened again .

And he allowed more pictures. even though he thinks we are all weird

The sense of satisfaction was immense. I could feel my heart beating slightly faster than normal and a huge grin on the inside of my face (don't want DH to know quite how sporn-y I really am).

So, how it happened.....

DH is wfh today and he commented on the fact he was feeling increasingly deaf.

I, oh so kindly, offered to get our magic syringe out and "have a go" for him. He gratefully accepted with a "Are you sure you don't mind?"

I then sat, patiently eating lunch with him, the whole time wanting him to eat faster you fucker so I can attack you finish his food. I then wandered to the cupboard to get the stuff out.

PIcs?

Oh, yes. So, some dull syringingy stuff occurred. Nothing.

More syringing. A few flakes in the waiting margarine tub.

I could feel my anticipation being slowly squished by the lack of gunk. Sad.

I was ready to stop. And DH normally very impatient with this kind of stuff.

And then he said......

"Twenty, would you mind just carrying on? Please? I really want this shifted."

I, naturally, sighed a happy sigh and agreed.

"Ooooo it is shifting!" said DH. My heartbeat peaked. But no. Nothing more than a few odd flakes coming out. I got a torch. Couldn't see much.

Syringed again. Another "Oooo that was it.."

More syringing. I looked again. OMFG. The motherload. Like the youtube videos you see.

But how to get it out. DH sensitive about wax being pushed down. Hates people fiddling with this stuff. Paranoid. A cotton bud would just push it back down. How to proceed?

Well, dear reader. I thought of you. I thought of the videos.

"Would you let me have a go with some tweezers?"

I waited with bated breath. Hopeful.

I'm not going to play it cool here... PHOTOS!

Please... Pretty please

TwentyChews · 03/11/2017 14:41

He said yes! Yes to the tweezers. I have no idea how I kept my hand from shaking.

He even held his earlobe up so I could get a clear view.

So, torch phone at the ready, tweezers in hand I went it. Heart and head were both over the moon.

Well. I tell you. Never, ever been so satisfying. It was epic.

DH was totally grossed out by the fucker that came from his ear. Indeed it looked like some kind of bug/grub thing had curled up and died.

He allowed me to keep it for evidence. Even passed a post-it note so I could take a photo for "your weird, grim mumsnet people."

We did a few more syringes and a few more flakes - then we called it a day (maybe another go before bed).

He then toddled back to his off office.

Ohhhhhhhhh, that is AMAZING I'm so jealous, DH has a blackhead on his back that I have been eyeing up for 10 years, no joke! He won't let me near it though Sad

NotThereEileen · 03/11/2017 14:47

Beautiful!

viques · 03/11/2017 14:49

Omg, I think I have just had a spornorgasm!

HemanOrSheRa · 03/11/2017 14:50

OMG! That is EPIC! My ears are blocked (or I'm going deaf - definite possibility) - I gladly let any sporners attack me with a syringe and cotton buds Grin.

Bubblysqueak · 03/11/2017 14:52

Wow just wow. Slightly disappointed that we now have to wait another 10 months for more.

CredulousThickos · 03/11/2017 14:53

Oh that is BEAUTIFUL.

What a satisfying thread.

Oogle · 03/11/2017 14:54

Holy shit that is incredible.

My ears are blocked probably because I constantly attack them with cotton buds and I need to syringe, etc but DH won't help weirdo
