....tapeworm or anything horrendous please!

Have had slightly infected stitches from episiotomy (two weeks ago) and fanjo has been v sore. Was on antibiotics for a week which cleared things up but yesterday (couple of days after finishing tablets) I had more bleeding, soreness and this critter thing when I wiped.

I could have sworn it moved when I first saw it but that might have been my sleep deprived mind getting all freaked out.

Please put my mind at rest!

I'm really regretting not saving the original wormy specimen for comparison. Sad I'm also on the lookout for any more examples which decide to show themselves for a 'best of three' diagnosis!

#teamstitch for the second one but I'm still a weeny bit #teamworm for the first all pink and glistening and squidgey as it was

Did it move?

It still looks like a knot.

And definitely not a tapeworm. If anything it would be a nematode, or roundworm. They do not tie themselves up nicely like that. :)

#TEAMWORM UPDATE

The first one (pink, glistening) WAS a frigging worm after all. ConfusedConfusedConfused

I found the tell-tale teeny tiny white threadworm eggs in the bum area of my black pants this weekend and the timing of eggs vs worms etc suggest overwhelmingly that I can expect more slimy critters in the next week or so.

Can't take the sodding medication for it as I'm breastfeeding, so am going to have to spend tomorrow blitz-cleaning everything in the house.

(Little timely reminder not to Google image search them...)

The second specimens (under the microscope) remain overwhelmingly on the side of #teamstitch.

I hope I've brought sunshine and joy to your otherwise boring Sunday evening now Grin

Oh no poor you. That is not fair when you can't take the medication.

Lweji · 25/09/2016 21:00

Those are not worm eggs.
If anything those are worms.
Unless you checked under the microscope. But threadworm eggs are not easy to spot even under the microscope for the untrained eye.

FannyFifer · 25/09/2016 21:43

You can't see threadworm eggs & that thing was def not a threadworm.

Honeyandfizz · 25/09/2016 21:58

I've had threadworms a few times damn dc and they are most definitely not threadworms!

Speak to the breastfeeding in drugs network OP (they're on fb and will reply to msgs there) there may be something you can take whilst feeding to get rid of your new friends
