....tapeworm or anything horrendous please!

Have had slightly infected stitches from episiotomy (two weeks ago) and fanjo has been v sore. Was on antibiotics for a week which cleared things up but yesterday (couple of days after finishing tablets) I had more bleeding, soreness and this critter thing when I wiped.

I could have sworn it moved when I first saw it but that might have been my sleep deprived mind getting all freaked out.

Please put my mind at rest!

Lol at Tigger

MrsBlimey · 13/09/2016 16:38

Oh tigger, that did make me larf! Far preferable to shake hands with a bum worm expert than an estate agent anytime.

I am now scrutinising each wipe for traces of wormness and scrubbing my hands furiously every few minutes and secretly hoping to find something, just so I can find out what happens next.

I will of course, dearest fellow sporners, keep you posted, with pictures where suitable. In the meantime, keep away from Google!

Lovely written thread OP. Happy poo fishing...

FannyFifer · 13/09/2016 16:46

Did you not bring it with you to the GP?
You poor thing, an arse worm is really not what you need when recovering from an episiotomy ffs.

Rachie1986 · 13/09/2016 16:47

You poor thing!! Hope you get it sorted soon

yep shamelessly place marking for any moe developments

MrsBlimey · 13/09/2016 17:00

fanny - It was about 3.30am and I was on the nth feed and toilet trip of the night with milk leaking from my tits dripping down my tummy (another story for another day!) so I didn't really think about keeping it at the time, sadly, although I did manage to flash the camera before I flushed, as it were. I thought at first it was a stitch so didn't think to preserve the little critter. GP was impressed with picture though. Grin
I hereby solemnly promise I'll collect all suspect specimens in the future.

I'd say not a stitch

Coldhandscoldheart · 13/09/2016 17:46

I dunno. I accidentally pulled a stitch out if my c section scar & had a brief, horrified moment of thinking it was some sort of worm. It was surprisingly long & thick. It would be very bad luck to be a worm.

FurryTurnip · 13/09/2016 17:55

I've bitten my nails for years. I think you may finally have stopped me. Well done!

onmybroomstick · 13/09/2016 22:47

So intrigued as to wether this is a worm or not! Please do keep us updated

allloveknows · 13/09/2016 22:53

Poor you OP. Placemarking!

WalrusGumboot · 13/09/2016 22:58

Hmm. I had to have my stitches manually cut out and they looked thick and wirey. I thought your picture looked like a stitch. I'm sure the gp would know better though.

gallicgirl · 13/09/2016 23:04

I assume anyone suturing you wore gloves?

elQuintoConyo · 13/09/2016 23:05

Oh my eyes! Thanks for sharing in a hilarious fashion MrsBlimey.

Congrats on the newborn and I hope your maggoty bum problem os solved swiftly.

rightsforwomen · 13/09/2016 23:05

[waves] I am a worm scientist!!!

Pinkerbeller · 13/09/2016 23:11

In the style of George Takei...

Oh myyyy!

mineofuselessinformation · 13/09/2016 23:16

For anyone saying its a stitch, have you ever thought one was squidgy? I haven't. I still think it was a worm (probably roundworm.)

FlyHighLittleBee · 13/09/2016 23:21

You're funny op. Congrats on the baby!

torthecatlady · 13/09/2016 23:34

I really want to google roundworm, but I'll get itchy just looking! Must remember to never put nails in mouth Blush

Coldhandscoldheart · 14/09/2016 07:32

Dunno. The one I took out should have been soluble, but hadn't iyswim so it was pretty swollen & wet. It definitely wasn't like a skin suture that you would cut out.
It was also white rather than worm coloured like this one.

FoxesSitOnBoxes · 14/09/2016 07:39

Rightsforwomen, what do you think?

WalrusGumboot · 14/09/2016 08:03

Any, um, movements overnight OP?

BBQsAreSooooOverrated · 14/09/2016 08:10

The tapered edges look worm like. My 3 yo dd had thread worms a few weeks back. They were only about 1 cm but the tapered ends are similar.

LadySpratt · 14/09/2016 08:16

A worm that can tie itself in a knot with the same length either side of the knot? Send it to BGT.
Much more likely a suture that has cut through because the infected tissue has no strength. And there are many different sizes and materials that suture material can be made of. I hope you don't find another; by the way was your wound examined? If you do however manage another sample and it is a stitch, I'd like to be a fly on the wall when the lab report comes back! Grin
Please don't worry Flowers

MrsBlimey · 14/09/2016 08:50

....drum roll, if you please.....

After a night of wiping and an X-Files themed dream about giant fanny eating worms, I'm pleased to announce that we have another specimen for examination.

It's smaller than the last one, less pink and glistening, but still knotted. It could pass as a stitch as the ends are the same length, but then again, those ends are tapered rather than cut blunt.

So the jury's out still at Blimey Towers but I will be presenting this to the GP this morning for whizzing off to the bumwormologist people.

GP did check wound yesterday and other than a little bit of swelling pronounced it seemingly ok. Didn't seem that there was anything externally problematic.

Have included a zoomed in pic for your aficionados. Grin
