We have been asked by the team at the Warner Bros. Studio Tour London – The Making of Harry Potter to find around 75 MNers and their families to attend a special event for MNers at the Studio Tour (near Watford) to experience the attraction (and have a couple of extra treats) and to report back to the rest of MN.

They say "step on to authentic sets, discover the magic behind spellbinding special effects and explore the behind-the-scenes secrets of the Harry Potter™ film series. Tread the original stone floor of the iconic Hogwarts™ Great Hall, encounter animatronic creatures and wander down Diagon Alley™. Located at the Studios where all eight films were produced, the Studio Tour showcases the incredible British talent, imagination and artistry that went into making the impossible a reality on screen. Visitors will relive the magic through the eyes of the filmmakers who brought the Harry Potter film series to life".

We're looking for families to attend a tour of the studios where there will be some special treats for MN families - including a free souvenir guidebook, food during the tour (hot dog/goujons/mac and cheese per person from the Backlot Cafe), glass of wine/beer/soft drink and a Butterbeer taster! There will also be a chance to have a group photo in the flying car Smile.

This is a special event for MNers who love the Harry Potter films or even film making in general.

The tour is aimed at children aged 8+ but if you have younger children they can attend if you wish. It's accessible to all including buggies.

The event will take place
Near Watford North London
On Wednesday 23rd March
Arrival from 4pm (must arrive by 5pm) and the tour lasts around 3 hours. Note there may be some waiting around when you arrive due to being allocated the next available tour.

There is a free on-site car park, which is a short walk away from the entrance to the Studio Tour, with designated disabled parking. For those arriving by train, a shuttle bus runs to and from Watford Junction train station every 20 minutes (£2.50 return).

MNers can attend with their partner and children - please specify your group size on the sign up form.

You will need to make your own way to the event and attendance is strictly by invitation only!

After the event, we'd need you to please give your feedback on a thread on MN - and add a review in the MN days out section (here)

If you'd like to attend please add your details here and we will be in touch with selected MNers asap. NOTE: there will be a strict list of names and party size on the door.

All MNers who share their feedback of the Studio Tour and add a review will be entered into a prize draw where two lucky MNers will win a goody bag containing a Harry Potter wand, Fizzing Whizzbees, Peppermint Toads, Chocolate Frog and a packet of Bertie Bott’s Every Flavour Beans (worth £57.75).

Thanks and good luck!

hugoagogo · 10/03/2016 16:49

I have signed up I am prepared to allow dd off school if you pick me.

VERY EXCITED!!!!!

Niklepic · 10/03/2016 16:51

Me and DS would love to go. We wouldn't fight over the wand or anything. In a completely unrelated issue, I wonder whether the vanishing cabinet works for when the little git does that cute look to get what he wants

wannabestressfree · 10/03/2016 16:54

I have sent a cringy email :)

Snoopadoop · 10/03/2016 17:23

Won't must children still be in school on that date, or is that just mine?

TooMuchOfEverything · 10/03/2016 17:25

Mine are on holiday by then. Plus I guess anyone within a one hour drive can go after school and still be on time.

wannabestressfree · 10/03/2016 18:34

They break up on the Thursday.

That1950sMum · 10/03/2016 18:49

Cripes! Yes please!

Tootsieglitterballs · 10/03/2016 19:41

What an amazing opportunity! We have applied - fingers crossed - MASSIVE Harry Potter geek, but still haven't been, it's just so expensive with tickets, trains & hotels to get to from the north!

VoldysGoneMouldy · 10/03/2016 20:19

Oh God. Please. PLEASE MUMSNET.

ThisUserNameIsAlreadyTaken · 10/03/2016 20:20

Ooh please please please !
I'd love to take everyone but being 6 of us, it's a bit on the ££££ side usually.

IdaShaggim · 10/03/2016 20:25

DD is too young and would get scared, but I'd be willing to borrow a neighbour's child if that helps me get tickets?!

StuffYouAllInTheCrust · 10/03/2016 20:37

Arrrgh I'll have to withdraw my entry to this one! As much as I'd absolutely love to go, I've now checked train fares and it would be too expensive for us to make it. Sad I seriously need a port key...

Fivetoomany · 10/03/2016 20:45

Me please! My life's dream Grin

Housemum · 10/03/2016 20:48

Yay - aimed at children 8+, I have 2 of those! But nooo - it's in term time :(

Fanjoferrets · 10/03/2016 21:03

Arg, please please please please please

It's half term and everything Grin

Cataline · 10/03/2016 21:17

I chose the broomstick option- if it means we get to go, I'd travel by biting Voldemort's shrivelled backside and holding on! Grin

Wigeon · 10/03/2016 21:19

It is really really good Grin. I live about 10 mins away - maybe you could all come back to mine for some kind of mad MN house party?!

ChippyMinton · 10/03/2016 21:37

Ann, I have a broomstick according to DH but it's a single-seater so I would have to load everyone into the car and brave the M25 at rush hour 🚗🚗🚚🚌🚒🚕🚙🚚🚚⚡

CockwombleJeff · 10/03/2016 21:39

Would sooooo love this 🤓.
