Whether you go every year or are planning your first visit, Hyde Park Winter Wonderland has that proper festive feel - and most families have one thing they always make time for.

Maybe it’s a visit to Santa (this year he’s joined by Mrs Claus and an Elves’ Workshop!), exploring the Magical Ice Kingdom, or watching the circus together. Some people love the view from the Giant Wheel, others head straight for the ice skating - or just enjoy soaking up the atmosphere with something warm to eat.

If you're heading along this year, it’s worth knowing you can book ahead to save -- whether that’s by pre-booking £25 worth of rides and attractions to score free entry, choosing a free off-peak session, or picking one of the new packages that combine popular attractions with rides, games credit and exclusive discounts.
So tell us - what’s your Winter Wonderland must do, and why?

Post below for a chance to win the ultimate family day out - worth over £300 - including:
4 x Anytime entry tickets (2 adults and 2 children or 1 adult and 3 children)
4 x Magical Ice Kingdom tickets
4 x Giant Wheel presented by Disney + tickets
4 x Circus performance tickets (either Zippos Christmas Circus or Cirque Berserk)
4 x Food vouchers

T&Cs apply. Competition closes 5th December.

The only time that I went to Winter Wonderland, all the adults except me bought hot chocolate from the same stall.

All of them had bad stomach upsets.

Don’t buy anything at Winter Wonderland containing dairy products.

Love the magical ice kingdom and the Bavarian Village.

I went once and felt like a mug the whole time - mud, metal walkways, millions of people shuffling around in the dark, horrible loos, everything ludicrously overpriced and nowhere to sit without spending a ton of money. All the cosy-looking areas are roped off for people who have spent even more money. We gamely attempted to have fun for a while and then admitted we would much rather be somewhere else! The crisps on a stick were good though.

Honestly I'm amazed anyone has anything nice to say about it. Horribly tacky (which I can love in the right circumstances), but also so so ridiculously over priced.

Gotta love the ice skating at Christmas - having said that its been a long time since we went to winter wonderland ....

If I was going to go to something it would be a Christmas lights trail at Chiswick or Kew.

The best part of WW for me is always a giant beer & sausage in the beer hall with a crazy German band playing. Love it.

oh & the smoky fire pits.

Gogodonu · 04/12/2025 22:15

Ice skating and a hot chocolate would be our go to activity ⛸️

Summergarden · 04/12/2025 22:28

The Giant view is the best for views over London, especially with the Christmas lights.

Snorydog · 05/12/2025 13:09

IME it’s busy, muddy, not very festive and very expensive

I’ve never been before and would love to take the kids for the rides and the magical ice kingdom sounds lush

Totally agree with this, I've been a few times when the DC were little, wouldn't go anywhere near it now.
