Whether you go every year or are planning your first visit, Hyde Park Winter Wonderland has that proper festive feel - and most families have one thing they always make time for.

Maybe it’s a visit to Santa (this year he’s joined by Mrs Claus and an Elves’ Workshop!), exploring the Magical Ice Kingdom, or watching the circus together. Some people love the view from the Giant Wheel, others head straight for the ice skating - or just enjoy soaking up the atmosphere with something warm to eat.

If you're heading along this year, it’s worth knowing you can book ahead to save -- whether that’s by pre-booking £25 worth of rides and attractions to score free entry, choosing a free off-peak session, or picking one of the new packages that combine popular attractions with rides, games credit and exclusive discounts.
So tell us - what’s your Winter Wonderland must do, and why?

Post below for a chance to win the ultimate family day out - worth over £300 - including:
4 x Anytime entry tickets (2 adults and 2 children or 1 adult and 3 children)
4 x Magical Ice Kingdom tickets
4 x Giant Wheel presented by Disney + tickets
4 x Circus performance tickets (either Zippos Christmas Circus or Cirque Berserk)
4 x Food vouchers

T&Cs apply. Competition closes 5th December.

Ice skating - my daughter has been to ice skating classes recently and loves any excuse to show off her skills!

QwertyAtThirty · 24/11/2025 06:28

I haven't been for several years but now DC are old enough to enjoy (some of) it we're taking them for the first time this year! DS thinks ice skating is the most magical thing ever so I imagine that will be our "must-do" event.

Freshair87 · 24/11/2025 06:46

My kids love the circus there!

SliceofTosst · 24/11/2025 19:49

Love the roller coaster and the Bavarian area with great food and live singing. Also get a great Christmassy feel watching the ice-skating with a mulled wine.

Switcher · 26/11/2025 08:26

It's a total rip-off.

Theimpossiblegirl · 26/11/2025 21:51

I love soaking up the atmosphere in the bars. The ice skating is also a highlight for us

curious79 · 27/11/2025 17:05

My daughters loved the roller coaster. Me not so much! But they enjoyed my screaming

sharond101 · 27/11/2025 19:59

The ice skating makes it feel very festive. Followed by a hot chocolate of course to warm us up.

BlakeCarrington · 28/11/2025 10:06

This thread is baffling. Are posters being paid to write good reviews? I’ve been a couple of times and it’s an overcrowded, disappointing rip off. Don’t fall for the advertising!

Mysterian · 28/11/2025 19:13

I think everybody should go. Once.

It gets talked about a lot so if you've never been you're missing a part of the conversation, but it's crowded, expensive and a lot of the stalls are repeated throughout London.
I'll pop in if I'm passing to get the atmosphere, maybe a sausage in a bun with named meat, but won't buy anything or do any attractions.

Pickledlotus · 29/11/2025 06:20

It’s an old style day out in London and good fun particularly fun for those children in those in between years. I’m thinking of taking my daughter for the first time this year.

VaseandCandle · 29/11/2025 06:54

We would head straight for the ice rink! It’s becoming a family tradition to ice skate before Christmas. And the winter wonderland one looks fantastic!

Mayflower282 · 30/11/2025 16:23

No.

sillylittlerabbit · 30/11/2025 20:47

There’s really nothing magical about it. It’s like those awful funfairs you probably get in your hometown, just on a bigger scale and at ten times the price. It’s mostly 20-somethings in a night out getting drunk, and I absolutely wouldn’t take kids there. I agree with PP - I cannot fathom the positive reviews here.

CatGod · 30/11/2025 21:11

This thread is hilarious, people are obviously posting positively to try to win the prize. We went a few years ago (because we actually did win!) and would never go back. We didn’t pay for anything except for some food and drink and it was a complete rip off. It was absolutely rammed, really muddy and ridiculously expensive even for London. There are so many gorgeous, genuinely Christmassy things to do in London, please don’t waste your money on this. I found the whole thing depressing and the opposite of what Christmas should be.
Go to the Southbank Christmas market, see a show at the Globe and take a Christmas lights bus tour for a fraction of the price.

CatGod · 30/11/2025 21:12

And yeah the funfair is no different to your local one except it costs 10 times as much!

Linenpickle · 01/12/2025 07:01

You’ve got a greater chance of being pickpocketed there too…

Bomboclat · 01/12/2025 12:07

We've just visited a German Christmas market (£40 return Ryanair flights). In one of the bars a German lady sitting next to us asked in an awed whisper if it is really true that there is a Christmas market in London where a single Bratwurst costs €14. She had read about this in a German newspaper and couldn't believe it was actually true. I thought for a second and realised that she was probably talking about winter wonderland.

AlwaysDefyingGravity · 02/12/2025 20:36

Never been, but it all sounds amazing! Would love to take my son to the Magical Ice Kingdom and see his face light up at all the enchanting sights!

KrillBrill · 02/12/2025 20:50

Giant wheel would be our favourite!

RandomUsernameHere · 02/12/2025 20:53

Munich Looping and the wild mouse coaster

Plan2024 · 02/12/2025 21:18

We go every year, it’s a lovely family tradition for us. It’s a toss up between the giant wheel, and ice skating! They’re both great activities, love seeing over London in the wheel, and the ice skating is always a festive treat. Always indulge in some churros too!

GasperyJacquesRoberts · 02/12/2025 21:30

A suspiciously large number of the positive posts in this thread absolutely reek of being AI-generated. How peculiar.

Sidebend · 02/12/2025 22:19

WW is something I would definitely recommend visitors to London to skip.
It's hell. Rammed with visitors to the point it often feels scary, full of pickpockets, fake Christmas sprit, long queues and so, so expensive.
There are so many nicer, more authentic and less sleazy Christmas experiences in London.

Seabreeze18 · 04/12/2025 05:55

The ice kingdom sounds amazing! Would really love to take my family. Hubby has just lost his job so can’t afford to this year!
