Whether you go every year or are planning your first visit, Hyde Park Winter Wonderland has that proper festive feel - and most families have one thing they always make time for.

Maybe it’s a visit to Santa (this year he’s joined by Mrs Claus and an Elves’ Workshop!), exploring the Magical Ice Kingdom, or watching the circus together. Some people love the view from the Giant Wheel, others head straight for the ice skating - or just enjoy soaking up the atmosphere with something warm to eat.

If you're heading along this year, it’s worth knowing you can book ahead to save -- whether that’s by pre-booking £25 worth of rides and attractions to score free entry, choosing a free off-peak session, or picking one of the new packages that combine popular attractions with rides, games credit and exclusive discounts.
So tell us - what’s your Winter Wonderland must do, and why?

Post below for a chance to win the ultimate family day out - worth over £300 - including:
4 x Anytime entry tickets (2 adults and 2 children or 1 adult and 3 children)
4 x Magical Ice Kingdom tickets
4 x Giant Wheel presented by Disney + tickets
4 x Circus performance tickets (either Zippos Christmas Circus or Cirque Berserk)
4 x Food vouchers

T&Cs apply. Competition closes 5th December.

Hmmm eating churros. Just because they are absolutely to die for, and I have not found anything that tastes so heavenly anywhere else.

We have never been to Winter Wonderland. I do feel tempted by the promise of festive food treats.

hannahp1209 · 17/11/2025 14:44

We have never been but would love to! For my kids its the ice kingdom and a hot chocolate with cream and marshmallows

Plainjane12 · 17/11/2025 20:47

We have never been to Winter Wonderland, but definitely on our to do list. I remember seeing all the sparkling lights last year when we were on the London Eye for my son's birthday and it looked amazing and very Christmassy! We would love to do the ferris and ice skating as well as trying different food and Christmas drink. Would definitely get us all in the Christmas spirit!

Polly199068 · 17/11/2025 20:53

We loved drinking cocktails in the ice bar!

GertrudePerkinsPaperyThing · 18/11/2025 10:26

Years ago when my daughter was quite small we went to the magic ice kingdom. It was really lovely. I’d love to go back now, and also take my son who was too small for it all at the time.

I’d also love to go on the rides again and the giant wheel.

We first went during the 00s when it was still fairly small so feel like we’ve seen it grow from something modest to the huge event it is now.

I haven’t been for a while, but I enjoyed the (admittedly very overpriced) mulled wine

verybighouseinthecountry · 18/11/2025 23:03

There's a very odd, creepy vibe about winter wonderland. Workers are extremely rude too.

LondonStalling · 19/11/2025 00:42

Love the combination of rides, watching the circus show and then wandering around the ice kingdom! However, would love to go on the wheel one year.

eurochick · 19/11/2025 06:46

The ice sculptures are my favourite bit. They were Alice in Wonderland themed last year and absolutely amazing.

Doveyouknow · 19/11/2025 07:01

Just seeing all the lights and having a mulled wine makes it feel like Christmas for me!

Iocanepowder · 19/11/2025 12:18

Ride packages!

Dh and I had our second date here 10 years ago and looking to take our 5 year old back as he lives for rides!

Ironfloor269 · 19/11/2025 15:10

Been once. If I never go again, it’d be too soon! Absolute rip off. Muddy walkways, over priced food and grumpy men dressed up as Santa sums it up.

Wellyoudidaskaboutit · 19/11/2025 22:35

I’m terrified of heights but I make an exception for the giant wheel because the kids love it.

Lyn29 · 19/11/2025 22:48

Mine would be the magical ice kingdom. Taking the children to see the ice sculptures, going down the ice slide and then warming up with hot chocolate (mulled wine for the adults) and then some yummy hot dogs followed by churros. Absolute Christmas feeling!! Nothing better or more magical!!

Infracat · 19/11/2025 22:52

The giant wheel for the view.

ohnonowwhat1 · 19/11/2025 23:43

Definitely the big wheel , the ice skating and the little game stalls which I’ve always loved.

GETTINGLIKEMYMOTHER · 20/11/2025 13:12

Dh once took a visiting niece, she enjoyed it but he said it was heaving and a ripoff - and he’s not remotely tight. It hasn’t occurred to me to take the Gdcs - they’d enjoy it, but they do a lot at 🎄anyway. Ice skating (if we do it) is usually at Hampton Court.

Bryonyberries · 20/11/2025 17:07

I’ve been once - enjoyed the ice sculptures and the big wheel. Otherwise it is very much like a fun fair. The rides and food was quite expensive. Nice to go for a look if you haven’t been before but be prepared for it to get expensive if you have children who will want to go on rides.

AlllPanicNoDisco · 20/11/2025 17:13

The Magical Ice Kingdom. The look of wonder on my kids faces will always stay with me.

Mum2KSS · 21/11/2025 10:57

We went around 10 years ago and went into the ice kingdom, big wheel and circus - the kids still remember the circus and enjoyed that most

Thetruthfairy · 21/11/2025 21:02

Mine would definitely be the circus. I was a gymnast many moons ago and love watching the skill of the acrobats, it brings me back to my childhood. The costumes and atmosphere of a big show is also something I love experiencing with my kids. I would love to see their faces if we were lucky to win the tickets.

BlakeCarrington · 22/11/2025 23:38

No, no it’s not worth it, it really isn’t.

This with (sleigh)bells on. Don’t be fooled by the hype my friends.
