This activity is now closed.

Whether it’s exploring the great outdoors, cozying up for a movie night, or indulging in a shared hobby, engaging in activities as a family can create precious memories and strengthen the bond between loved ones. We want to know about the activities that bring joy to your entire family.

  • Post your activities/stories in the thread below to be entered into a prize draw
  • One lucky MNer will win a £200 voucher for a store of their choice.
Here’s what Immersive Gamebox has to say: “Our new immersive PAW Patrol experience is designed to be a fun activity for children and parents alike, with the ability to adjust the level of difficulty depending on the ages of the players. The experience promotes teamwork and includes educational elements that are integrated in an engaging way with the mission to make screen time social.”

Thanks and good luck with the prize draw!

We love a good family game of mini golf.

Theimpossiblegirl · 28/07/2023 14:58

Nice weather- beach days, picnics, long walks.
Rubbish weather- cinema, museums, long walks.

WalkiesAndBiscuits · 29/07/2023 07:16

We love our local farm park where you can go into the fields with the animals and stroke them and feed them.

chickenpotnoodle · 29/07/2023 16:17

Riding bikes, playing the piano (badly) but the singing is joyous, ten pin bowling (when they have meal deals on to make it cheaper for us) gardening, planting in spring and weeding and watering until autumn

babybylondon · 31/07/2023 12:09

We like exploring new places. We are always up for new experiences and having our minds opened up to new things and activities (for adults and children). We love seeing our daughter's senses lighting up! things we have done recently include going to museums and the city farms in London.

PicnicBunny · 31/07/2023 17:34

Love doing? Getting lost in London. That’s our favourite but can be pricey. We usually end up in Chinatown or Covent Garden and eat dimsum - and every day is different because … well, because it’s London. And we never get bored, but youngest gets tired.

What we do mostly as a family though is to go for long walks to the next village. Over the river. Sometimes with duck food to feed ducks and swans. Always seems to be an adventure every time. Like finding some baby bird fallen out of a tree (!) my kids love climbing trees and finding new paths and talking to strangers.

My two love baking (licking the bowl) and anything a bit messy like painting or play dough.

CakeIsNotAvailable · 31/07/2023 20:39

We love baking - I'm not very accomplished so I often buy cake mix kits from supermarkets!

Heronatemygoldfish · 01/08/2023 08:49

We live reasonably close to Whipsnade so going there is a treat we all still love, even though DC is now a teenager and can be meh about stuff. Doubles up as a good walk as it's not exactly a small place.

WasItAllADream · 01/08/2023 09:21

We love playing board and card games as a family. Always end up laugh lots and feeling closer.

Asuwere · 01/08/2023 11:50

We like swimming, always fun!

selloveday · 01/08/2023 12:14

Our son has developmental delays so we all love going to soft play as it really gets him moving and using all his muscles.

JokerAndTheQueen · 01/08/2023 19:36

We love going to the woods as a family. Our toddler rides his balance bike through it, we pick blackberries and build homes for insects and animals using sticks

Jellybellyjiggle · 01/08/2023 21:22

Board games, cards, trips to the beach. Sometimes cooking/baking together (although sometimes that's more successful than other times :) )

ItsJustASimpleLine · 01/08/2023 21:24

We love walking and exploring places new and old. Our favorite places are the beach and local woodland.we love spending time in the garden growing flowers in the summer.

We also love theme parks, kids go on the fast high rides and I'm chief bag carrier!

PerrinAybara · 01/08/2023 21:27

We love going horse riding together. We don't own any horses, so it's through a riding school. But the DC love when I'm there, riding with them.

tvsondinneriscooking · 01/08/2023 21:31

Escape rooms are a hit in my house. Or if the weather is nice paddle boarding

moreplantslessmeat · 01/08/2023 22:12

Paddle boarding, skiing, swimming in lakes, kayaking, eating out.

Baroloandbluecheese · 01/08/2023 22:26

Air rifle shooting. We love it. The kids are teenagers now and wanting to do their own thing but Saturday mornings for an hour at the range is so much fun for us all. Friendly competition and a bit of family banter, it’s just fab.

BBLibra · 02/08/2023 09:32

We love to go for a walk as a family. Baby gets fresh air and loves looking at the trees and watching his older brother running around manically! Older one gets exercise, and we can show him different flowers, animals and get him to find different things like a treasure hunt. The fresh air does my husband and I good (as does the exercise) and gives us the chance to have proper bonding time as a family with no distractions. We also get some lovely family pics on these excursions!

DinkyDaffodil · 02/08/2023 12:19

As we have had to resort to a more expensive 'plan b' for the rainy summer holidays - it's indoor play for us - cinema (on 2 for 1 nights) the council run roller skating to music, the nintendo switch and playing games together - or if I am feeling brave - baking - a chocolate cake or rice krispie buns - then a movie

Montydoo · 02/08/2023 12:27

We love to make paper mache models - usually around a balloon, and when it's dry we decorate it - cheap fun, swimming - there are good deals for families at the moment, cinema, when the rain stops - going out on our bikes.

wellingtonsandwaffles · 02/08/2023 12:28

Movies, nature walks, family meals out, baking, theatre, board games

Indoors:- playing an interactive game with the Switch, making YouTube videos for our channel, making popcorn and watching the disney channel
Outdoors:- getting out on the bikes - either from the house, or putting them on the bike rack and setting off somewhere, making more videos for YouTube, going to the open farm.
