This activity is now closed.

Whether it’s exploring the great outdoors, cozying up for a movie night, or indulging in a shared hobby, engaging in activities as a family can create precious memories and strengthen the bond between loved ones. We want to know about the activities that bring joy to your entire family.

  • Post your activities/stories in the thread below to be entered into a prize draw
  • One lucky MNer will win a £200 voucher for a store of their choice.
Here’s what Immersive Gamebox has to say: “Our new immersive PAW Patrol experience is designed to be a fun activity for children and parents alike, with the ability to adjust the level of difficulty depending on the ages of the players. The experience promotes teamwork and includes educational elements that are integrated in an engaging way with the mission to make screen time social.”

Thanks and good luck with the prize draw!

Together as a family we love going to the allotment and weeding, planting, tasting, and making a cup a soup in the shed - which is why they go down primarily - it's given my children a love of nature, food and being outdoors.

Montydoo · 21/07/2023 09:31

We enjoy making pizza - adding faces made from veg - we love a sweetcorn and red pepper face, another vote for the nintendo Wii - great games and with them being interactive we can be active indoors, and take turns, in summer we love riding bikes and collecting bits and pieces from the woods lovely to do this in autumn when we collect conkers, leaves of many colours, and twigs

jacqui5366 · 21/07/2023 10:38

We love to make a den - under the dining room table and read, tell stories, read books with head torches - with the summer we are having it's a lifesaver - we pretend we are on a boat/submarine/spaceship .... and make up adventures

Beabeautiful · 22/07/2023 09:35

Baking butterfly buns - we get the kitchenaid out and have a morning weighing out, different muffin cases for each DC, we even give grandma and grandad one. We love growing sunflowers in the summer, and making paper snowflakes for decorations in the winter. We read together and go swimming on our local pool - especially when the fun swim is on.

MumC2141 · 22/07/2023 12:30

Swimming, watching a film, going camping or out on a day trip to the zoo.

ohdannyboy · 22/07/2023 14:49

I am lucky enough to live near the Eureka children's museum - so much to do, see and experience -so we go there after school and at weekends, great for a rainy day. In the summer we get the paints out and make paintings - self portraits and sometimes hand prints.

PashleyB · 22/07/2023 21:27

We enjoy going cycling together. Now the children are a bit older we can go further and provided we have plenty of snacks with us (!) it is a really fun thing to do

DaisyDando · 22/07/2023 21:31

We all enjoy bowling and a game of Exploding Kittens. We are not kayaking people.

CatsOnTheChair · 22/07/2023 21:40

All together is tough one for everyone to be delighted. Food is about the only thing - be that making it, picking it (either at at PYO farm, r blackberries), or eating it at home or at a restaurant.

justanothermanicm0nday · 22/07/2023 21:56

We live to go on evening walks after dinner with our dog and play at the local park

Messyhair321 · 22/07/2023 21:58

Exploring new outdoor places by going on walks together, stopping for a picnic or in a pub for drinks! Can't beat it

ButtonMoonLoon · 23/07/2023 02:37

We really enjoy the following
Cooking together, especially trying out new recipes
Playing board games, especially Frustration and Monopoly!
Beach days with the paddle board
Going to our local park, which also has a great cafe with play area and air hockey table etc

Igmum · 23/07/2023 03:00

Board games and cards. Current favourite is definitely Taco Cat Goat Cheese Pizza. Can't play it without laughing hysterically

Montydoo · 23/07/2023 09:14

Watching quiz shows and trying to answer the questions before the DC's get them correct, going to the petting farm - especially in spring, going to the allotment and watching our seedlings sprout into vegetables and fruit, eating raspberries from the allotment bush, making pot noodles in the greenhouse when it's raining.

Stej7 · 23/07/2023 20:38

Walks along the stream, building dens in the woods, boardgames nights, movie nights, fruit picking, hide and seek in the parks….so many adventures to be had

GlitteryFarts · 23/07/2023 20:43

We enjoy making your own pizza nights, everyone likes different toppings so much easier this way! We often pair this up with setting up the projector and watching a family movie while we eat it.

We are currently in the middle of making a scrapbook per child with all photos of days out, adventures, birthdays etc. They are loving it!

Baking is a firm favorite, as is making models from marzipan to have competitions and a sweet treat at the end!

We also enjoy exploring the local beach, geocaching and going to the woods (with nerf lazer guns sigh).

Sherrystrull · 23/07/2023 20:48

We love going on walks and long drives. I find we chat freely on both of those in a way we don't at home.

We also love family game night where we each choose a board game to play together.

In the term time we're all so busy so it's lovely to properly spend time on things together during the holidays.

Moltenpink · 23/07/2023 20:52

Has to be a simple card game for us. UNO is our favourite

Nonamenoplacetogo · 23/07/2023 21:07

We enjoy planning and making a meal together and then a board game or two

DuranNotSpandeau · 23/07/2023 21:27

Swimming, water parks, Pokémon Go and playing the game with decks, geocaching, tennis, movie night with burgers, games night, but not Risk, never again after a two week episode with no dining table/place to work at home.😂😱

LittleDeeAndME · 24/07/2023 14:26

Believe it or not we love on-line shopping together - we log into Tesco and select what we want to have for dinner the following week - and what vegetables we will have with it - we started this in lockdown and it's now a weekly ritual - it's given our DC's more of a say with meal planning and trying new things too.

JacCharlton · 24/07/2023 14:33

We like to go for bike rides, take trips on grandads canal boat, birdwatching, kite flying and when I have the energy cake baking.

MoustacheTwirler · 24/07/2023 14:49

We love going to the Lake District. We strap our 6 month old baby in a carrier and then take our dog for a walk up the fells.

munchbunch12 · 24/07/2023 14:58

We enjoy going swimming, the cinema, the library, going for a walk to the park, and snuggling up with a hot chocolate to watch a film at home on a cold, wet day (there have been a lot of days like that recently!!).
