Keeping your children’s skin happy can be difficult, particularly during the winter months. With that in mind, La Roche Posay would like to hear about your skincare tips this winter.

Here’s what La Roche Posay has to say: “We know winter can be tough on the skin, especially for the little ones. Cold, windy weather outside combined with central heating and lack of humidity inside can weaken the protective layer of the skin, causing it to lose natural moisture. It is key to take extra care of your family’s sensitive skin and protect it during this time of the year. We would love to hear about your winter skin routine and how you keep your children’s skin soft and comfortable during these months.”

Do you have a winter skincare routine for your children? Perhaps you have tips on how to increase humidity in your child’s room or you keep an emergency moisturiser in your bag at all times? Does La-Roche-Posay feature on your family’s skincare routine?

Whether you have a ten step dedicated winter skincare routine or you’re the ‘moisturise and call it a day’ type, we want to hear all about it.

All who post on this thread will be entered into a prize draw where one lucky MNer will win a £200 voucher for a store of their choice (from a list).

Thanks and good luck with the prize draw!

Child’s farm baby moisturiser has worked wonders for us.

Moisturise their whole body straight out of the bath, with a non fragrance moisturiser. If we are going out in the cold, I like to use a thicker moisturiser to act as a barrier cream. Using it on the exposed parts of skin like cheeks, nose or ears. Also put it on hands under gloves!

We use baby lotion and it works great.

Putting on just organic cotton clothes and making sure their bath water is not too hot.

Coconut oil rubbed onto the skin whilst in the bath makes my feel skin lovely and soft. plus I always moisturise my hands quite a few times through the day.

i am gratful my girls skin is generally really good, but they dont have too many baths or showers which as I think it is better for your skin not to bathe too much at their age.

We use Vaseline on the kids lips when there dry. In the winter we usually moisturise as we are prone to dry skin,we will use Nivea normally.
I’ve always got a moisturiser, lip balm and hand cream in my bag for on the go and it also helps keep dry skin at bay.

DS has eczema. We are using Diprobase as a moisturiser at the moment which is really good. Occasionally have to use hydrocortisone on his legs and have zero base for nighttimes when it's really bad. The best thing we've learned to do it put diprobase on before he goes in the bath. Helps hugely with the water irritation he can get. Although it does make him and the bath slippery!!

I find by using a good quality moisturiser and also not bathing my little one everyday means her skin doesn't overly dry out. Also, I find moisturising
her hands and wrists is so important as she's washing her hands more than usual.

Oat baths and every la Roche posay item that exists! We love it!

They tend to have less baths in winter and since lockdown no swimming has been better for their skin. They use a plain moisturiser when needed, usually Diprobase.

Dermol lotion and child’s farm moisturiser keep my daughter’s skin happy during the winter. We have to avoid bubble bath as that makes her really itchy.

Kiddo gets super sore lips, found that some kind of petroleum jelly is best as both preventative and cure, particularly helpful as it gives a water resistant barrier against food/drink exacerbating any soreness and irritation.

I try and use pure and natural products- I notice they can flair up quickly if we use artificial products.

We always moisturise after a bath or shower in the winter for sure. In the summer I'm conscious of sun cream being used so not as religious with the moisturiser then. At this time of year we sometimes have oats in the bath water too, as they are quite good for troubled skin. I prefer the most natural remedies I can find and try to avoid use of chemicals in every aspect of our lives.

My LO is only 3 weeks old but we go out walking almost every day. I use lanolin on her lips and cheeks when they are dry. For me I use La Roche Posay Toleriane and have switched to the rich moisturiser in the range as my skin is currently dry.

My daughter has had eczema for several years so know the importance of moisturising especially in winter. I always moisturise even though I haven’t got eczema and use both facial oil and moisturiser on my face.

I've got two children with eczema. Oddly their flare ups havent been told bad this winter. I apply moisturizer 3 times a day, and make sure they dont spend too long in the bath. Fresh air circulating in the house helps too rather than dry radiator heat.

My daughter (and myself) suffer with chapped lips in the winter. It's important to stay hydrated from the inside by drinking lots of water and wrapping up against the wind with scarves etc.
