Keeping your children’s skin happy can be difficult, particularly during the winter months. With that in mind, La Roche Posay would like to hear about your skincare tips this winter.

Here’s what La Roche Posay has to say: “We know winter can be tough on the skin, especially for the little ones. Cold, windy weather outside combined with central heating and lack of humidity inside can weaken the protective layer of the skin, causing it to lose natural moisture. It is key to take extra care of your family’s sensitive skin and protect it during this time of the year. We would love to hear about your winter skin routine and how you keep your children’s skin soft and comfortable during these months.”

Do you have a winter skincare routine for your children? Perhaps you have tips on how to increase humidity in your child’s room or you keep an emergency moisturiser in your bag at all times? Does La-Roche-Posay feature on your family’s skincare routine?

Whether you have a ten step dedicated winter skincare routine or you’re the ‘moisturise and call it a day’ type, we want to hear all about it.

Moisturises after Bath time help him sleep too

greig23 · 27/01/2021 14:12

Nothing different really for the seasons just use more moisturzer in winter months on their skin

FebruaryBear · 27/01/2021 16:16

Try to protect their skin with natural products as much as possible - I like Toddle sun and wind balm for protecting their face on cold days!

billybear · 27/01/2021 16:52

dry well after a both put on moisturiser if dry skin, keep well wrapped up in warm clothes in cold weather

1davidcassidy · 27/01/2021 20:45

plenty of E45 does the job

Cinders22 · 27/01/2021 20:54

My daughter is still prone to flare ups of eczema, especially in winter, so I encourage her to use Aveeno regularly. Both DS and DD suffer with chapped lips in the winter, due to the cold I think, so both have a tin of Vaseline lip balm and I encourage them to use is regularly.

pineapple99 · 27/01/2021 23:37

Make sure you use a lip salve as their lips often dry and crack in the cold and wind.

A babies skin can dry out with to many baths— and this can disrupt the skin barrier and let allergens in - three baths a week for a baby or toddler is recommended.

chris8888 · 28/01/2021 10:42

I just use lotion is they any signs of chapping. They do get sore lips when its windy but seem fine once a bit of vasiline is put on.

lizd31 · 28/01/2021 15:22

I find that liquid paraffin with 50% white paraffin really helps moisturise the skin in winter months & also helps soothe any sensitive skin conditions like eczema & dermatitis as well as inflamed skin.

theresacoo · 28/01/2021 15:44

my son has a prescription from the GP. it does help. a bath emollient .

I received a sample from La Roche Posay for a facial balm and it is very good, Ive bought a full size tube.

my cheeks in winter are terrible and this balm works.

cjrmar · 28/01/2021 15:55

Don't bath or shower every day as it dries the skin out. Only needs hand cream now and again.

HornbeamLane · 28/01/2021 17:26

I use coconut oil after each bath and top up with e45 during the day

PatrishaPatel · 28/01/2021 19:25

I have to use fragrance free products and I've found that natural is best for my skin and also for the kids.

ruqiya1965 · 28/01/2021 19:36

I don't do anything that differently when it's winter. I'm always conscious with moisturising so routine doesn't really change. I do love coconut oil.

Jellyfishnchips · 28/01/2021 19:45

Hi, just quickie to see what you think re: lockdown travel distance. Is driving 7 miles too far do you think? (This would be an outside swings at a nearby village with a friend and their toddler, socially distanced) thanks am thinking this is prob too far but read that Boris cycled 7 miles recently and this was considered fine

Jellyfishnchips · 28/01/2021 20:04

Oops sorry! Meant to post that last one as a new thread!

SmileyShazza · 28/01/2021 21:04

We use hardly anything in the bath - no harsh bath products, a gentle bar soap and a very soft sponge does the job well enough.

The most important thing for my two is keeping their lips hydrated as they get dry and cracked easily and children have a habit of nibbling the dry skin which obviously makes the issue worse. A decent lip balm like La Roche Posay Cicaplast helps keep all our lips hydrated.

toastandmoretoast · 28/01/2021 21:06

My baby has dry, eczema-prone skin so in winter I try not to bath him every day and moisturise him top to toe with coconut oil after each bath. I also use the coconut oil on his face each day.

RainbowChild1 · 28/01/2021 21:59

More moisturising in the winter months, the same rule of thumb that I live by. There are lots of great child friendly moisturising products on the market both perfumed and unperfumed. Neal’s Yard also do a great range of lightly perfumed products especially for children. I particularly like their organic children’s hand wash that gently cleanses for hygienic little hands. The one that we have has lavender, chamomile and propolis in and smells gorgeous!

joseyjo66 · 29/01/2021 01:54

When my kids where little they loved a really softening bath bomb in a nice warm bath and then I'd just use a nuetral unscented moisturiser on their elbows and feet. When they would go out on a cold day I would just moisturise their lips and round their nostrils, just because those parts are delicate and exposed.

FuckingHateRats · 29/01/2021 07:52

Encourage lots of water, have regular longish breaks of no central heating, and a gentle all over moisturiser when they come out the bath/,shower.

TechnoDino · 29/01/2021 13:05

I’ve always made sure that batsh aren’t too frequent and tried to stick to moisurising shower gel/bubble bath for them.
One dc has eczema so a good moisturiser is essential, we use an Aveeno one.

kellyria · 29/01/2021 13:11

I have a 4 year old and a 2 year old so pinning them down to moisturise them can be a challenge. Instead I bought them each their own bath/shower products with moisturiser in and they like using these. I also pop their own lip balm in their coat pockets. We go out for a daily walk and they can then just pop on their own balm to look after dry lips.
My friend made them a personalised clip on hand gel as well which has been a big hit.

Abwhite · 29/01/2021 14:49

If the heating is on all the time spray water mist occasionally around
