Be it a city break, a camping trip or an indulgent retreat by the seaside, the UK has many holiday destinations we love visiting with our loved ones.

With that in mind, Parkdean Resorts want to hear about your and your family’s favourite places to visit in the UK.

Here’s what they have to say: "We are the UK’s largest Holiday Park operator with 67 locations in some of the most stunning coastal, countryside and lakeside locations, from the impressive Scottish Highlands to the sunny South Coast.

After over three months of lockdown, we are so excited to re-open our holiday parks this summer and show just how much the UK has to over for a family staycation, allowing you to enjoy these wide open spaces and time with your family.

Choose from a huge range of caravans and lodges, including extra wide accommodation, perfect for families and packed with everything for a stress-free holiday. Dog friendly options mean you can bring the whole family too! For a touch of adventure, you’ll find a variety of pitches whether you’re camping in a tent, or pitching up a touring caravan or motorhome.

For your peace of mind, we have made commitments to protecting our holidaymakers, people and local communities for a safe stay, whilst also introducing a booking guarantee, giving you the confidence to book a much deserved holiday.“

What are your family favourite places to visit in the UK and why? How often do you go there and do you have a favourite time of the year to visit? What makes this place so special to you and your family - a memory you hold dear, or you simply love everything about it? Which UK destination is next on your go-to list or have always wanted to visit in?

Whatever your and your family’s favourite place to visit in the UK is, share on the thread below and you’ll be entered into a prize draw where one MNer will win a £200 voucher for the store of their choice (from a list).

Thanks and good luck!

Cotswolds, Arundel and around and the coast of Norfolk are our favourite places, any season

Daisymaybe60 · 06/08/2020 05:51

The North Yorkshire and Cleveland coast; Saltburn-by-the-Sea, Whitby, Runswick and Robin Hood’s Bay, Staithes, Port Mulgrave, Scarborough. Proper traditional seaside resorts that take me back to my childhood. Shell hunting, fishing in rock pools, eating fish and chips and lemon top ice creams. Plenty of countryside and history to explore if you want to venture inland, plus the magnificent moors.

Penzance in Cornwall - lots of cute little rental cottages, welcoming locals, near beaches and lands end and easy to get to on the train. Can’t wait to go back!!

Enterce · 06/08/2020 08:50

I have never gone there but I hear that is good place to visit or travel there. So I could short plane when I collect a list of attractive place to enjoy with my family.

kennythekangaroo · 06/08/2020 09:56

I love the coast especially Dorset/Cornwall. In my mind it's not a proper Summer holiday without a beach as all my childhood holidays revolved around the beaches of North or West Wales.

Pugworld · 06/08/2020 13:32

Nodes Point on the Isle of Wight is just beautiful. There's an abandoned church on the beach and when we first visited over Easter a few years ago, we were surprised to see an outdoor, early-morning church service taking place there. It's within easy reach of Ryde and the popular seaside towns on the east coast of the island. The kids loved it and request to go back every year.

pinkpetal2 · 06/08/2020 14:34

Bognor Regis I love their town centre and beach.

dannydog1 · 06/08/2020 18:49

The Lake District- wild, walking, friendly, traditional so varied.

joystir59 · 06/08/2020 19:33

Cayton Bay, near to the amenities of Scarborough but away from its bustle, with one of the cleanest and most stunning beaches you will find anywhere

Moonflower12 · 06/08/2020 22:48

As a family we love going to West Wales particularly Ceredigion as I was brought up here and it is so beautiful. The beaches are beyond compare.

grannyjacob · 07/08/2020 00:26

I love the East coast of Scotland, from the Borders upwards. There's lovely wee villages and bigger towns, but also big cities. Fantastic coastline views but also beautiful inland stretches, something for everyone.

Waitingforgodot · 07/08/2020 07:33

One of our favourite places is the Parkdean site Nairn Lochloy. We can't wait to go back once Scottish Government opens swimming pools again. The beach is beautiful. White sands and turquoise water and there's a good play park in Nairn itself. We like to explore the area too and usually go to Inverness museum of flight where you can go inside the cockpit of old planes! We also spend a day at Landmark which is great fun! We've not had our annual visit to Lochloy yet but fingers crossed it's soon!

HouchinBawbags · 07/08/2020 13:02

We (10 of us) go to Southerness a couple of times a year. Looked at booking again this year and found the prices are quite a bit higher and It appears that most of the facilities like the indoor pool, indoor play areas, the amusements and arcades are closed completely. Don't what's left really? The outdoor parks there are no great shakes. We've 4 bigger parks in a 1 mile radius from our house.

After having lost a few days holiday when the venue roof collapsed on our last visit I think we'll just drive down for day trips to the beach and chippy instead.

MotherofPiggies · 07/08/2020 15:11

We love Cornwall. Anywhere around Padstow and Mawgan Porth is our favourite place to stay. Looking forward to going away next year! Another favourite place to visit is Arundel for the annual art trail.

Crail in particular and the whole East Neuk of Fife in general. Devine! The vast majority of the highlands of Scotland too.
As I live semi rural anyway, my guilty pleasure is actually a trip to London.

angiem32 · 07/08/2020 20:48

We absolutely love to visit Devon as it has plenty of beautiful countryside scenery and our favourite tourist attraction - the donkey sanctuary!

SmileyShazza · 07/08/2020 21:28

We love the Suffolk coastline. So many lovely little beaches along that stretch and then Great Yarmouth is not that far either.

To be honest we have had some lovely holidays in the UK.

The Peak District is another favourite. We would love to try the Lake District next.

Coveredincathair · 08/08/2020 01:31

Log cabins very near Loch Ness for Christmas!
Isle of Wright in September when the kids have returned to school.

IHateCoronavirus · 08/08/2020 02:11

The Forest of Dean is beautiful. My children love puzzle wood.

BonnyT · 08/08/2020 07:09

Norfolk is beautiful. We spend a lot of time enjoying the quiet sands of Holkham, Sea Palling and Wells-next-the-sea.

We also like to visit Ely and Kings Lynn and spend most weekends out on the River Ouse.

erica84 · 08/08/2020 07:29

The North Yorkshire coast - Scarborough, Bridlington, Whitby. Gorgeous area, lots to do with kids and most places are dog friendly! We go on day trips every Summer and have a caravan holiday every October half term at Reighton Sands - it's my favourite place!

Whiskyinajar · 08/08/2020 14:17

I love Kynance Cove in Cornwall. ...it has such amazing azure sea.
Scotland....the Highlands particularly is beautiful.

copperoliver · 08/08/2020 22:04

Dorset. Devon. Cornwall. Lakes. X

MamaBearThius · 09/08/2020 06:11

Devon is definitely a favourite for us, and worth the 6 hour drive.
Love the chilled out way of life, the beautiful scenery and the amazing family time we have there.
Always have to head over to The Milkyway park, mainly dog friendly children's park with rollercoasters!
Gorgeous beaches can easily spend whole days building sand castles and swimming in the warm seas.
Paignton seafront playpark is our little girl's favourite park in the whole world!
We have a 4 year old daughter who absolutely loves our UK holidays, and a 9 week old baby who we can't wait to share our holidays with Smile
