What makes this place so special to you and your family - a memory you hold dear, or you simply love everything about it? Which UK destination is next on your go-to list or have always wanted to visit in?

Whatever your and your family’s favourite place to visit in the UK is, share on the thread below and you’ll be entered into a prize draw where one MNer will win a £200 voucher for the store of their choice (from a list).

Norfolk for us - lovely sandy beaches, crabbing at the pier. Old Hunstanton and Wells are our favourites.

I absolutely love the Lake District it is one of my favourite places in the UK. I have been many many times as a child and an adult, I've even now been taking my children there.
Last year we decided to visit Yorkshire with Park Dean and stayed at Cayton Bay, it was an amazing site for the kids. Yorkshire was Beautiful and I can't believe I'd never tried exploring the area before.
We were due to go back this year and also to Wales, but due to covid, these trips have been postponed to next year... roll on 2021 so we can get exploring again.

Yorkshire Dales - very peaceful, beautiful countryside and within easy reach of lots of attractions.

LaGoulueRevenue · 01/08/2020 12:54

Bowness on Windermere in the Lake District for us, at Fallbarrow park. Really accessible and great for the kids.

We live in Wales, and we're surfers, so we often go to Cornwall, but our favourite place is Aberavon. It's got a great wave, without the traffic of Swansea and the Gower. We stay anywhere along the coast. We go there just for a day about every two weeks.. there are lovely cafes along the front, as well as play parks, a water park for kids, and easy parking... it's beautiful, too. It's particularly special, as my husband and I went there for our first date, when we were still living in London.. nothing like surfing in the Welsh sea in February! Now we take our two girls there as they learn to surf (bodyboard). So it's pretty wonderful as we live near there, now.
Hmm... next on the list might be a winter trip to Newquay.. when the crowds have gone..

North Norfolk - beautiful beaches and loads to do. Also the west coast of Scotland for the breathtaking scenery.

MrsFruitcake · 02/08/2020 13:22

For us it's got to be Camber Sands. The beach is beautiful, long, sandy and brilliant in the summer. We've been in the winter too and still think it's great.

clam77 · 02/08/2020 13:34

We have just returned from Embo in the Highlands, about an hour north of Inverness, staying at your Grannie's Heilan Hame park. Second time there and absolutely loved it, great base for exploring the far north, it's just off the NC500. Scenery is amazing.

WillowB · 02/08/2020 16:35

North Yorkshire. So many lovely places to visit - whitby, Scarborough, staithes etc plus the North Yorkshire steam railway and all of the pretty villages on the route.

We also visit White Cross Bay, Windermere every year and it's so beautiful and picturesque.

WhatILoved · 02/08/2020 16:45

We love Devon north and south coasts. We spent a lot of time there when we met as students.dont get to visit as often as we’d like . I’d love to visit some Scottish islands.

The Lake District for us

Dreamscomingtrue · 03/08/2020 02:40

Widemouth Bay, Bude. My family gave been visiting here since 1987. Lovely beaches, bars and restaurants.

Pasqual · 03/08/2020 04:30

I have been going to Sundrum Castle holiday park every year since I was a child with my whole family, we usually get 3/4 caravans side by side.
I would spend the day time out exploring with my cousins and then at night we all get together for a family talent show or quiz nights, lots of fun.
Now a mum of 2, we took our daughter last year when she was one year old and we intend to return in October with our 4 month old son (covid situation depending). We are hoping that it will be a family affair and that my cousins will bring their kids too & keep up the traditions. Loads of happy memories and loads of fun!

Im still in love with my ex, we broke up in January over text, he ended it because he didn't want to be in a relationship, he thought he did up apparently he didn't. I was in love with man, he made me smile and made every day brighter. When lockdown started we got back in contact he told me he did miss me and wanted me back and i so happy we met up, he stayed over and then the next day he texted me to say he was sorry but he missed the fact we didn't speak anymore and now he dosnt no if this is what he wants. I was destroyed by him once again. I blocked him on social media so i wldnt have to speak to him. I went on a couple dates but they didn't work out i was broken and felt like i could never be liked by anyone, i shouldn't have but i was in a dark place and reached out to him he took me to the beach and then i started staying over at his once a week, i felt things were going great i booked us a camping trip it was amazing to get away with him for a few nights and after that i built up the guts to ask him if things carried on maybe we could start seeing each other again, he said he was sorry but he only saw us at friends even tho toe it was more than that as it involved sex. But he said he just liked us as friends and just dosnt want a relationship, im so confused on what to do because i love spending time with him and i want us to be a couple again but he dosnt and i no i shld just walk away, but i cant do it and its tearing me up. Its making me depressed yet no matter how bad I feel i just want him to hug me tightly even tho to him its just fwb 😭😭

We are Park Dean type holiday fans because staying in these resorts both in statics and tourers has allowed us the exceptional good fortune of seeing every aspect of the U.K.
We love visiting abroad but we think it’s important that our children see their home lands.
From Northumberland to Yorkshire to north wales to southern England, Scotland (this year).
We can budget, save, easily book and get to see some where different every year.
Places we especially love, we visit again.
They are perfect family holidays because of which we have explored far & wide.
