Biddeford Bay - we used to go as a family every year back in the early 90s, aunts, uncles, cousins, grandparents, parents, the lot. Best times ever and we go back now with our kids. My great aunt was evacuated there during the war and every year we used to meet up for a cream tea with the lady who she was looked after by during evacuation.
I used to wake up each morning and look out to Lundy Island and make up all sorts of stories about what could be happening on the island, it just always seemed so magical. One day I will finally go there!

We love going to Anglesey, Wales. I was born there, my grandparents lived there and my kids adore the beaches, the coves, the fish 'n' chips eaten out of paper, the wild hills, the sheep's wool caught in barbed wire, the big skies, the people. THE best place to holiday.

There's a few places in the UK where we love to holiday. I love the Lizard in Cornwall, really beautiful in the sunshine. Llangranog in Wales is gorgeous. Loved the beach there and watching the sun set over the ses. One of my favourite places on earth is York- so much to do and see. I've been so many times and haven't run out of things to do yet.

Dorset for me.

Stunning coastline, not too far away and so much to do when you're there.

doctorboo · 04/08/2020 18:50

We love the Isle of Wight and spend our time near Calbourne Mill visiting near by Compton Bay for fun days by the sea.

HazelBite · 04/08/2020 18:57

It has to be Scotland,
Tummell Valley, Nairn, and Embo are just stunning spots with the most wonderful countryside around them.
The peace and remoteness around Embo is unbelievable, the fun of the Pitlochry Highland games, and the beautiful beach at Nairn, gosh its a beautiful country!

Welsh beaches. Any Welsh beaches. You can't beat them. Watching the sea. Building sand castles. Love it

SomethingPhishy · 04/08/2020 22:55

We love Wales! North Wales is our favourite because of the glorious scenery & fabulous traffic-free cycling paths, perfect for us to enjoy as a family

kennycat · 05/08/2020 06:17

Tynemouth. Beautiful beaches, right on the metro for travel to the amazing g city of Newcastle and close to fabulous countryside. It’s got it all! And super friendly people.

PaintYourSpiritGold · 05/08/2020 06:20

Holkham in Norfolk- it's beautiful and peaceful. Just wished I lived closer

Ijustneed · 05/08/2020 07:07

The east coast, Yorkshire. I've always loved it, so many places to visit not far apart, Whitby with its beautiful abbey, Scarborough, Bridlington. Some lovely sandy beaches.

pennyw85 · 05/08/2020 11:08

We went to Woolacombe last year and absolutely loved it. So much to do in the area, would definitely love to go again

MrsJamTart · 05/08/2020 11:11

No where! We like to explore and go to different places. We have our first park dean holiday next year booked to Trecco Bay :)

Perro · 05/08/2020 13:50

Northumberland. Castles, beaches (castles on beaches..) gardens and Barter Books. Perfect family holidays.

CooperLooper · 05/08/2020 13:59

Anywhere in the Lake District! We try and go twice a year, usually for long weekend breaks where we can take our dog - doing the steamer/walking routes with the Ullswater Steamers is our favourite. Being out on a long dog walk in the forest/peaks all day and a nice pub lunch in the afternoon 🥰

Time of year = less popular times! I love autumn and winter, colder months so it's less busy.

We last went there in 2019 for a mini moon after we got married. We'll next be up there next month for a final break away before we have a baby later this year!

sadscorpion · 05/08/2020 15:05

we all love beaches so one of our favourite places to visit is Cornwall.

libra101 · 05/08/2020 18:38

We all love holidays in North Wales. The scenery is beautiful, there are great places for the kids to play, Llandudno for example. While there we either take the cable cars or tramway up The Great Orme.

Snowdonia is a wonderful place to visit as well, with the tram taking you all the way to the top of Snowdon, with its spectacular scenery.

There are lots of small steam railways running through N. Wales, where you enjoy a ride, real Harry Potter stuff!

Great for all the family.

Hiraeth16 · 05/08/2020 18:58

Church Bay on Anglesey, my favourite beach. We used to go there when I was a child and now I take my own children: it hasn’t changed. Love it most out of season when quiet.

MrJollyLivesNextDoor · 05/08/2020 18:58

Cornwall!

All of it but especially North Cornwall - Polzeath, Rock, Tintagel

Just love it

fishnships · 05/08/2020 19:20

Ibizama · 05/08/2020 20:57

Our family favourite place to holiday in the UK is Southwold, Suffolk. Its the quintessential British sea side town full of beach huts and unbelievable fish & chips, pier and pretty cottages everywhere you look. We come every year and it feels like a home from home. In fact I am here right now sitting outside the beach hut we hired for the holiday watching the huge sky turn pink as the sun sets. We have been dreaming of coming here all the way through lockdown and I am so happy to be here. We only come in the summer, but plan to come back this winter for my 50th birthday. Its the sort of place you dream of..... So relaxing

Northumberland is gorgeous: quiet sandy beaches, old castles. You can enjoy it during all seasons.
