From the idyllic Cotswolds and beautiful Lake District to the breathtaking wilderness of the Scottish Highlands and picturesque scenery of Cornwall, we all have a favourite place to visit in the UK. Be it a city break, a camping trip or an indulgent retreat by the seaside, the UK has many holiday destinations we love visiting with our loved ones.

With that in mind, Parkdean Resorts want to hear about your and your family’s favourite places to visit in the UK.

Here’s what they have to say: "We are the UK’s largest Holiday Park operator with 67 locations in some of the most stunning coastal, countryside and lakeside locations, from the impressive Scottish Highlands to the sunny South Coast.

After over three months of lockdown, we are so excited to re-open our holiday parks this summer and show just how much the UK has to over for a family staycation, allowing you to enjoy these wide open spaces and time with your family.

Choose from a huge range of caravans and lodges, including extra wide accommodation, perfect for families and packed with everything for a stress-free holiday. Dog friendly options mean you can bring the whole family too! For a touch of adventure, you’ll find a variety of pitches whether you’re camping in a tent, or pitching up a touring caravan or motorhome.

For your peace of mind, we have made commitments to protecting our holidaymakers, people and local communities for a safe stay, whilst also introducing a booking guarantee, giving you the confidence to book a much deserved holiday.“

What are your family favourite places to visit in the UK and why? How often do you go there and do you have a favourite time of the year to visit? What makes this place so special to you and your family - a memory you hold dear, or you simply love everything about it? Which UK destination is next on your go-to list or have always wanted to visit in?

Whatever your and your family’s favourite place to visit in the UK is, share on the thread below and you’ll be entered into a prize draw where one MNer will win a £200 voucher for the store of their choice (from a list).

Thanks and good luck!

We love to visit Southwold in Suffolk. My husband used to holiday there as a child and so it holds wonderful memories. The place has a lot to offer families; beaches, small shops, family-friendly places to eat and most of all lovely walks. There is a lot of fun to be had without the need to spend a lot of money; something always welcome on a family holiday. We visit once or twice a year.

We love St Ives, Cornwall. It’s just the most beautiful place, with amazing beaches, crystal clear water and lovely streets to explore. Add in pasties and ice cream and it’s just perfect! I’ve been there almost every year since I was born and it’s very special to me for a number of reasons. Our favourite time to visit is half term in Autumn. It’s much quieter- and cheaper- and the weather is still good.

The beaches in Devon are just beautiful. The sea is warm enough to swim in during summer months and the sand is soft. It can sometimes feel like being abroad!

There are so many beautiful places in the UK; we are really very lucky. Cornwall and the Peak district are my favourite. I want to walk the whole pennine way some day!

DS lives right next to a secret beach in Devon. It's like a tropical island on a sunny day. It's a secret though so not sharing where it is, the locals would never let us back! So many happy memories of spending the day there family picnics and friends dropping by. It's perfect!

We love beautiful Cornish beaches and for a city break we love Bath and Leeds. Lincolnshire was also lovely for a countryside break. Can't wait to get away again!

We love to stay in Ashbourne in Derbyshire. It is about an hour’s drive from where we live and there is a lovely holiday park where we tend to stay. The holiday park has an onsite playground, café, and indoor heated swimming pool so we can always find something to do even if it is raining. The town of Ashbourne is beautiful with lots of family friendly things to do and loads of cafés for a nice hot chocolate. Ashbourne is surrounded by beautiful countryside and we tend to take bikes too so we can cycle around. There is Carsington Water – which sounds dull but is a great day out, as well as the Tissington trail which is a lovely walk with kids. It is one of our favourite places and there is plenty to see and do.

We love Somerset for its beautiful landscape and historical heritage, from the lovely levels to the coastline and through to the ancient towns and villages. It helps that the people are so friendly too.

I always buy a family National Trust membership as their properties are the best fun and are all over the country so wherever we are we can make a day of it.
