Bridlington and the Yorkshire East Coast.

It holds great childhood memories for me of holidays spent at the caravan. Now we like to visit out of season, get all wrapped up and avoid the crowds - for day trips and longer stays!

We visited Cornwall for the first time last year and for us it topped many wonderful exotic holidays that we enjoyed pre-children! The walking, the food, the natural beauty of the coastline and the hidden gems (the walk from Lizard to Kyance Cove) - magical! Can’t wait to go back next September!

The Norfolk coast, so many beautiful beaches, rock pools, yummy chippies, play parks, trains, arcades, everything we want from a UK holiday

mollysmammy · 21/07/2020 16:12

Love the Lake District, Bowness is our favourite, lovely walks, lots to do and fresh air!

gemima27 · 21/07/2020 16:20

we love norfolk. love the east coast and the north coast, hunstanton is really lovely. but love the wide flat beacges of caister and the seals at horsey gap!

voyager50 · 21/07/2020 16:55

My family love the North Norfolk coast - my 93 year old grandma came from there and loves returning to Cromer whenever she can with the whole family.

munchbunch12 · 21/07/2020 16:58

Porthdinllaen on the Llyn Peninsula, it's so beautiful and peaceful. We just love it!

DennisTMenace · 21/07/2020 17:53

Love the new forest. Haven't left the UK for 4 years now, tend to do shorter breaks around the country. There are so many beautiful places to go and no small kids in airports/ planes.

biffyboom · 21/07/2020 21:56

We really like Liverpool as there are fantastic museums for children, we usually stay overnight in the city centre so we can explore them all.

TumbledGlass · 21/07/2020 22:15

Northumberland, epic scenery and stunning beaches. We love the wide expanses and the peacefulness, plus it's very dog friendly which is so important to us.

Byrdie · 22/07/2020 05:53

We love visiting lots of the national trust and a few in our area are firm regular favourite. Our fav place we ever visited was not local - Chatsworth house. It was such a great day and such a lovely place.

ButterflyOfFreedom · 22/07/2020 08:07

We've had some really lovely memorable holidays in the UK.
The one that stands out is Borth-y-Gest in Wales. We stayed in a nice little house right by the sea. We pretty much had the beach to ourselves most days. The weather was kind to us. We explored some castles, went on the steam train, has some delicious meals out. It really was a great holiday!

I'd like to go to Cornwall though it's a bit of a trek for us. I imagine it's worth it though.

StillNoFuckingEyeDeer · 22/07/2020 08:26

Camping just outside Bude was great.
I love a pebble beach - Brighton, Lyme Regis etc.
The best place I've stayed is a treehouse in the woods in Dorset. That was amazing.
I'd love to explore Wales.

blackleggingsandatshirt · 22/07/2020 11:47

It has to be North Yorkshire, Whitby in particular, so picturesque, unspoiled - with the best fish and chip shop ever !

DinosApple · 22/07/2020 12:43

Pembrokeshire - Barafundle Bay, genuinely the most beautiful beach I've ever been to. Soft sand, relatively quiet due to being a mile from the car park. Just lovely.

lolly2010 · 22/07/2020 12:58

We love Cornwall, for the past few years staying in Redruth or Hayle, there is so much to explore, you can't fit it all in, Kynance Cove, Minac Theatre, Hayle and St Ives beach, Perranporth, Eden project, Lost Gardens of Heligan and don't forget Healeys Cider farm, St Micheal's Mount, the list goes on.

tararabumdeay · 22/07/2020 17:42

National Parks. Of course the Peak District because it's on a major crossroads in the country and it was the trespass of Kinder Scout that let us poor people out of the mills and onto the land.

Asuwere · 22/07/2020 21:41

We like Edinburgh; so many interesting places to visit, plus we have family there so can visit them.
Although saying that, DC enjoy the holiday experience rather than the location so are happy wherever we go.

wellingtonsandwaffles · 22/07/2020 22:24

Northumberland for sure! Amazing food, friendly people, brilliant beaches and lots of great walks / nature!

Birkenshock · 23/07/2020 00:06

Clacton for me 😂

It might not be the most beautiful part of the UK, but it's perfect for my young kids and they're desperate to go back every year. Fairground rides, donkey rides, ice cream and candy floss, dancing at the disco etc. It's a kids dream. We've stayed at Highfield Grange & Valley farm and I'd massively recommend both for anyone looking for a cheap, clean holiday with young kids. So much for them to do - the perfect nostalgic seaside break like my childhood was full of.

Belmo · 23/07/2020 08:42

Loch Ness. It’s beautiful there and the kids love looking for Nessie!

FawnDrench · 23/07/2020 10:50

Norfolk Broads and Devon - both areas, though quite different in lots of ways, are friendly, relaxing, beautifully scenic, and have lots of lovely attractions to visit and restaurants to sample.

jacqui5366 · 23/07/2020 11:35

We love to go to Cayton Bay, it has everything we want.

zeromango · 23/07/2020 17:18

Richmond in North Yorkshire and the surrounding dales. Grew up there and it truly was a beautiful part of the world. At the time being a grumpy teenager I didn't always appreciate it Grin But I can't wait to take my daughter there some day. Yorkshire people are incredibly friendly and there is such an abundance of places to visit, including the Wensleydale creamery, Hawes and Richmond river.

Majorcollywobble · 23/07/2020 17:38

Whitley Bay has to have the friendliest welcome - blue flag beach - and great towns to visit - if you can tear yourself away from all the family attractions available .

MojoJojo71 · 23/07/2020 18:08

@jacqui5366

We love to go to Cayton Bay, it has everything we want.
We used to go there every summer when we were kids! I have very fond memories of Cayton Bay, must be over 30 years since I’ve been though
