Finding the time to look good and keep your wardrobe fresh can be tricky at the best of times, never mind when you’ve got your hands full with the various obstacles that life throws at you. Whether you’re trawling the high street or searching online, acquiring the right outfit for the right occasion can be a mission - and not always a successful one at that. With that in mind, Stitch Fix want to hear your tips and tricks for staying stylish when you’re pressured for time.

Here’s what Stitch Fix have to say:
"Stitch Fix takes the hard work out of shopping so that you can get back to what really matters, without sacrificing on style. After filling in a short online questionnaire, a Stylist hand-selects, just for you, pieces from the best established and emerging European brands. The selection is delivered straight to your door. Keep what works, return what doesn’t, simple as that!”

Do you have certain accessories you use to freshen up an outfit and make it look ‘new’? Or do you make a dash for the shops when you have a couple of hours free and hope for the best? Maybe you have a few key friends or relatives you can borrow clothes from at times of great need?

However you manage to stay stylish with limited time, post on the thread below and everyone who does will be entered into a prize draw where 1 MNer will win a £300 voucher of their choice (from a list).

Thanks and good luck!

Assemble a capsule wardrobe and add a few on trend / more 'out there' pieces / statement accessories each season.

Good jeans, good sneakers, good white tee, good heels and good LBD are all great basics.

If you find something that REALLY suits you then get a spare or a couple of colours - or you'll kick yourself if you lose / damage / wear out the original.

And lastly - have fun! If you see a piece you adore and you like how it feels and looks on you then don't worry what other people think. It's taken me until the age of 32 to realise you can pull off most looks if you wear them with confidence!

Organise your wardrobe so that you can pick something quickly and it is all together

Sarahbeaty2001 · 07/08/2019 13:22

Have set outfits pre planned and all hung on one hanger - trousers/skirt, top and jacket all on one hanger ready to lift out and put on. No thought process required and saves bags of time!

I dont buy many new clothes (i keep telling everyone i am environmentally friendly)! I tend to have what i call a couple of "standby" outfits for going to special occasions, and just accessorise differently each time - best thing to do is a have a nice smile on your face, relax and have fun - people are more bothered about HOW you are than what you wear (well the people that matter)!

Classic Chic is always the style that wows

Always set the clock an hour early then you don't run out of time!

sophiefx · 07/08/2019 14:05

Dry shampoo and a bit of lippy always works!

SandAndSeals · 07/08/2019 14:19

I always keep it simple when in a panic - usually something like dark jeans, a simple top with heels and a bold lipstick.

A hat covers up a bad hair day

littlemonkeyz · 07/08/2019 14:32

My mum has kept her accessories and clothes for over 50 years so when I need to spruce up an outfit, I go for my mum's vintage! - she's always got something interesting hidden away in the house

glennamy · 07/08/2019 14:36

Accessories for sure, and always have eyeliner to make your eyes stand out!

strawberrisc · 07/08/2019 14:38

Charity shops! Many of them now are so professional that you wouldn't even know they were second-hand clothes stores. My wardrobe is full of labels and designer names at absolutely incredible prices. I only buy things I absolutely love and they are easy to pick out in these shops.

I tend to dress quite plainly but will have nice shoes, bag or scarf .

AngelwingsPetlamb · 07/08/2019 15:06

I try to ensure that all my clothes and shoes colour co-ordinate so that if I’m in a rush I can grab an outfit quite quickly and easily.
I keep all my jewellery tidy in a jewellery box so I can usually find some bling to dazzle razzle with.
I keep my makeup essentials handy with a selection of day and night lipsticks to complete the look.

nettymay · 07/08/2019 15:22

I have a good selection of earrings and silk scarves - they always 'save' me! (except one day when I grabbed a woolen scarf my son said "my friends said you look like Dr. Who today!)

IonaAilidh11 · 07/08/2019 15:41

a nice scarf and bracelet

jhocknull · 07/08/2019 15:46

A huge colourful scarf with a plain outfit and lots of gorgeous perfume.

Elizasmum02 · 07/08/2019 16:06

Mitcholiver · 07/08/2019 16:15

I've had my hair cut very short now and I'm all about being natural and to be honest hardly ever wear makeup!

sor5 · 07/08/2019 17:09

I get ready to night before. Lay it out on the spare bed. I put together a small wardrobe of items that can be used with different outfits

dannyelle · 07/08/2019 18:55

a big ol' smile and a couple of spritzes of your favourite perfume will boost your confidence no matter what clothes you wear!

sc00ter · 07/08/2019 18:55

I for one live in jeans, so a good pair of well fitting jeans in black is great for day with a white T shirt and vans.
Evening, wear with black heels and stylish blouse or jacket, add a few Accessories: pretty belt, jewellery, watch etc.
No fuss and done in no time at all.

sarahm1234 · 07/08/2019 19:18

I choose my outfit the night before work/an occasion so I'm not racing around in the morning.

Santiago1 · 07/08/2019 19:38

I tend to wear a lot of earthy tones that I can dress up or down with funky scarves or jewellery.

veegstez · 07/08/2019 19:49

I have a few key items that I feel good in and wear time and again. I also know what suits my shape so tend to stick to similar styles. I will plan in advance and go shopping for a full day with clear aims of things I need to buy and tick them off my list as I go along.
