Finding the time to look good and keep your wardrobe fresh can be tricky at the best of times, never mind when you’ve got your hands full with the various obstacles that life throws at you. Whether you’re trawling the high street or searching online, acquiring the right outfit for the right occasion can be a mission - and not always a successful one at that. With that in mind, Stitch Fix want to hear your tips and tricks for staying stylish when you’re pressured for time.

Here’s what Stitch Fix have to say:
"Stitch Fix takes the hard work out of shopping so that you can get back to what really matters, without sacrificing on style. After filling in a short online questionnaire, a Stylist hand-selects, just for you, pieces from the best established and emerging European brands. The selection is delivered straight to your door. Keep what works, return what doesn’t, simple as that!”

Do you have certain accessories you use to freshen up an outfit and make it look ‘new’? Or do you make a dash for the shops when you have a couple of hours free and hope for the best? Maybe you have a few key friends or relatives you can borrow clothes from at times of great need?

However you manage to stay stylish with limited time, post on the thread below and everyone who does will be entered into a prize draw where 1 MNer will win a £300 voucher of their choice (from a list).

Thanks and good luck!

Oh dear, I'm afraid that apart from having clean clothes on and looking roughly tidy I have never been bothered. I try to have lots of clothes that mix and match and choose classics that won't date too much adding one or two fashion items to my wardrobe. I don't wear makeup which saves time.

mangopepetango · 07/08/2019 10:11

when I am pressured for time which is most of the time! I usually pair a nice blouse with black skinny trousers and flat ballet pumps (or heels if going out somewhere posh!)

giddyypixie · 07/08/2019 10:13

My clothes are all very neutral colours so they all mix and match. I have a few pieces of statement jewelry that again are interchangeable. My makeup is very quick and light and i have hair tools that take just minutes to give me a polished look!

I tend to wear neutral colours in classic styles so there is plenty of black, greys and whites. Easy to co-ordinate and add colourful accessories when required

Sezza110 · 07/08/2019 10:20

White blouse and a good lippy.

flowerpot2000 · 07/08/2019 10:23

by keeping things simple using a black dress of trousers to go with a coloured top in in either green or blue.

kamaxtra · 07/08/2019 10:28

Monochrome - keeping it simple and just dressing in high quality fabrics in simple colours, such as an all white outfit elevates a look and is easy to throw on in minutes!

I'm not great at throwing up a messy bun and leaving the house with no makeup - I always look ill. So I always make time to straighten my hair and put some makeup on - only takes me 15 minutes. Then I can throw on any clothes and look semi-respectable. If I'm going out somewhere nice I always plan my outfit in advance so that I'm not trying on 15 outfits before I walk out the door.

I have a few outfits that are my comfort zone, they make me look good, suit a variety of occasions and can look different depending on accessories / wearing a skirt or pants with the same top etc.

hiddenmichelle · 07/08/2019 11:13

pull hair back to make it neat and choose plain but classic clothes

buzzybev · 07/08/2019 11:27

honestly i don't ever look stylish. Just whatever is clean

twinklenicci · 07/08/2019 11:33

a few key pieces that you can accessorise to make into different outfits

IWouldBeSuperb · 07/08/2019 11:36

Sticking to a colour palette so everything looks 'put together' regardless of how quickly it's been grabbed out the washing pile wardrobe.

1lMK090976 · 07/08/2019 11:49

I have my favourite 'going out' outfits that i just add different accessories too. This way i know they fit and I just don't have time to go shopping for new outfits.

spottypjs · 07/08/2019 12:02

Dark jeans, foundation, mascara and a nice top - good for me every time.

Catmadroo · 07/08/2019 12:06

I don't do style just comfort lol

lizd31 · 07/08/2019 12:10

Shopping online saves lots of time. Most high street stores have a website & delivery is usually free over a quite low spend

MarieKlepto · 07/08/2019 12:16

I stick to a wardrobe of quite simple but classic clothes that fit well, are well cut and in natural fibres (doesn't need to be expensive). I avoid garish prints and passing fashion trends in styling (but will pick up something in this season's colour if I like it). Than I concentrate on accessories to switch things up.

moosexxx · 07/08/2019 12:17

I have a selction of belts that I use to freshern up my look.

conn1312 · 07/08/2019 12:31

I like to put on a coloured cardigan (mostly mustard coloured) and get a chunky belt round the waist and top it off with a scarf, can never go wrong with a good scarf.

teenywhale · 07/08/2019 12:49

Figure out what colours/styles suit you and stick to them. Less is more, keep things as simple and natural as possible.

RACHELSMITH45 · 07/08/2019 12:55

Have some nice little accessories to hand to brighten up an outfit. A good foundation and lippy also helps avoid me looking too tired!

itsali · 07/08/2019 12:56

I go with keeping it simple: plain trousers and a simple shirt, minimal make-up and a slick of red lippy :)

Rachdayan · 07/08/2019 13:01

A nice jacket thrown over plain clothing always makes it looks like you’ve made more of an effort than your actually have. Jumpsuits are also great. Stylish yet comfortable and relaxed... until you need the toilet! If all else fails a nice eye catching bag to draw attention away from how much effort you’ve not made

socat · 07/08/2019 13:02

Grab a striped Breton, joggers and casual shoes to be ready in a jiffy! (and a messenger bag or satchel)
