No doubt, at some point in our lives, we’ve all been asked ‘What is your dream job?’. For many of us, the answer we gave probably isn’t the career we’ve ended up doing. The Open University would like to know which course you would study to help you achieve your dream job.

Maybe you’ve always dreamed of doing a particular job and you know there are courses that would help you to achieve it. Perhaps you’re already in the career you want but hope to move up to the next level? Or there is a course you’re really interested in taking and then you could visualise a career from there?

We’ve partnered with The Open University so that they can help MNers discover the range of courses and qualifications available. Take a look on their website here.

Here’s what The Open University has to say: "Every year, 1000’s of students from all walks of life enrol with The OU to develop new skills and boost their career prospects. With a wide range of subjects and qualifications that have no formal entry requirements, you can achieve your dream career with our flexible courses. Fit study around your life, your family, work and other commitments and get ongoing support from our expert tutors and student services team."

Simply post The OU course you would choose to study and the career of your dreams on the thread below to enter the prize draw. One lucky winner will receive a £300 voucher of their choice provided by Mumsnet (from a list).

Thanks and good luck with the prize draw.

Speech Therapy. I became interested in it when my two boys were small and having weekly appointments to help with verbal dyspraxia. I have an English degree so I looked into whether you had to have a specific degree to train as a speech therapist or whether any degree level education would suffice and you have to have the right degree Sad.
Another one I'm interested in, as a former teacher, is education psychology. Oh, and journalism. Basically anything apart from what I'm doing now Hmm!

I already have a two diplomas and a degree from the Open University, but I'd love to do more. When I'm reading the choice of courses, I'm like a kid in a sweet shop - there's so many interesting subjects to choose from. I'd really like to do a course in journalism but, sadly, they don't offer that, so I'd probably go for French and brush up my language skills.

I've recently been checking out the OU for their courses on Spanish. I love learning Spanish at adult education but have reached the limit of Spanish courses that our local council runs.
Ideally I'd love to be able to teach Spanish at adult education courses myself so I know that once I felt confident with the language I'd also need teaching courses too.
