I'll be doing a lot of swimming as I've entered a 2.5 mile swim across Weymouth bay which is going to be a bit of a challenge!

Montydoo · 03/01/2019 19:06

My new years resolution is to finally get my allotment working to it's full potential - I only grew potatoes last year - this year it will be an array of seasonal vegetables, and to get the children to help, it might encourage them to try new salad vegetables (here's hoping).

kennythekangaroo · 03/01/2019 22:18

Drink more water and clear up clutter.

hareagain · 03/01/2019 22:38

Drink less and sleep more. Oh and eat more meals together as a family.

cheekychicken24 · 03/01/2019 22:39

We're really trying to reduce waste - we're already eco-bricking all our plastic waste, but |I want to reduce our single use plastics too, so I'm going to start printing out a meal plan every week, and cooking from scratch more. I'm hoping there will be less to cut up and ecobrick if I can buy loose veg once a week instead of grabbing packaged salads and veg midweek.

To achieve a better work/life balance and to not get so stressed. Be more organised with planning meals so that this isn’t a stress in the evening when we are all hungry and tired. To get away more as a family and relax.

alwaysinleggings · 04/01/2019 07:19

My new years resolution is to shop smarter, which includes stopping buying convenience foods, buying all fresh (from markets and farm shops) and spend more time cooking with my children who would love to help with the food prep, we would be healthier, and spend more time together as a family.

Carriecakes80 · 04/01/2019 08:50

My goals are to really get back into shape. I gave up smoking two years ago and while thats great, the weight has absolutely piled on! I start off well, then the cold weather has me wanting to snack and stay indoors, but I gt a rescue dog who needs lots of walks and I can't see him unhappy, so this will motivate me a lot! :-) x

Happy New Year everyone and good luck with your goals! x

I plan to get through these two degree modules this year with the OU and get back into the work place now i need a lower level of childcare.
I have also actively begun saving for the future.
Less food waste by making use of the freezer, meal planning and shopping around what i already have in rather than buying the same stuff i already have and having to bin stuff because it hasnt been used.
And treating myself with more kindness.

HoneywithLemon · 04/01/2019 09:45

My resolution is to read more, and spend less time online! I also want to do as much as possible to improve our home without spending a ton of cash.

JulesJules · 04/01/2019 10:52

I've got chemo and radiotherapy to get through.

I've been thinking about what a friend of mine, who had breast cancer a few years ago, said about getting through her cancer treatment - You just go to the next appointment. Then you go to the next appointment. And the next, and the next, and one day it will be the last appointment, and you're done.

DitaFajitaJones · 04/01/2019 14:19

My goal is to take more risks and not play it safe aaaaalll the time. Obviously, some things I will always have to play it safe but, by god, sometimes I want to be the spontaneous one!

UpOnDown · 04/01/2019 15:06

To make everyone responsible for remembering cash/forms/appointments, by printing out weekly timetables/to dos.

Beckyboo1988 · 04/01/2019 16:08

My goal is to get in better shape since giving birth to my first baby in September. I don’t really like the gym so it’s eating healthier and playing just dance on our Nintendo switch which will be what helps me get in shape and tone up Grin

twentypencemore · 04/01/2019 16:23

We're going to try and be kinder to our bodies. Lose weight hopefully, but also more about what foods are nutritionally better for us rather than empty calories. More exercise especially in the fresh air. Less alcohol.

buize · 04/01/2019 19:30

My goal is to get a new job, finally do the works to my house and listen more to my teenage son, before he leaves home.

NightmareDaemon · 04/01/2019 23:14

I am 6 months from being debt free so the latter part ofthe year is thestarting point for saving for a down payment on a house.

Enigma222 · 04/01/2019 23:19

My goal is to spread more quality time with my children. Do more physical activities that we all will enjoy and bond together

AlliKaneErikson · 05/01/2019 00:14

My New Year goal is to be more organised, in all aspects of my life (family life, housekeeping stuff, work- everything!).
I’ve got instant ink and I use it to print out lyrics and musical arrangements I’ve made for my piano and singing pupils. I need to be more organised in that too, and make sure I don’t give away all of my originals and need to print more etc.
I’m going to aim everything ready prior to the night before it’s needed ( although I’ve pretty much failed already!).

Sugarhouse · 05/01/2019 00:47

I am going to try and get healthier and more organised this year

bikerclaire · 05/01/2019 07:39

I originally signed up for 100 page instant ink when I was in the last couple of months of my MSc and I was printing off loads of scientific papers to read on the train/in bed as I was looking after our toddler while studying. It's also much easier to read off a page than a screen and I could annotate easily. This was well worth it so great to bear in mind for those going to uni. It might be a nice present to pay ahead (if that's possible) for 3 years with the 6 months or so stepped up to a higher monthly page count? Our amazing daughter is a painting fanatic and gets through loads of pages each time she paints. I've been buying books of ready printed drawings to fill in but I have also just started printing some of our own so that she can paint her favourite characters!

fishnships · 05/01/2019 11:57

I am aiming to be healthier and intend to achieve this by following an alkaline diet and walking the dog more often!

AngelDog · 05/01/2019 14:44

I want to read more poetry (well, read more generally) and a wider range of books.

SiobhanLouisa7 · 05/01/2019 15:09

2018 was literally the worst year I've ever faced so my only resolution for this year is to make 2019 a happy year! Smile

Jeffingandeffing · 05/01/2019 19:07

I’ve got so many goals for 2019 that I’m going to introduce one or two a month so it’s not quite so overwhelming!

I’m starting with dry January
Giving up sugar
No spend (except on essentials)
Reading every night rather than screen time.
Meal planning
The list goes on....
